I think Hennessey has the biggest boot I've ever seen, when it comes to a route 1 hoof he could be one of the best in the world! And he is accurate with the boot 99.99% of the time always finds the centre forward.

Hah, the ball is in the air for so long, the centre forward has all the time in the world to figure out where it’s going to land! When that centre forward is Kieffer Moore, then Hennessey’s accuracy stats will look good! That’s not accuracy, he just has a great clearance. Not quite the same as Ederson pinging a through ball into the box to Aguero from a goal kick is it...

Adam has won player of the month for Stoke.
A 1st cap would round that off nicely.

Strange that he didn't play yesterday. The only keeper we have playing regularly for his club at a decent level, and he wasn't even given a chance in a meaningless friendly? Bad man-management I feel. At some point he's surely going to think what's the point showing up.

Looks like he's going to step up for these final Nations League games, will keep an eye out for how he and Stoke get on in the meantime.
I don't have any worries about him stepping up, seems to be doing well and been playing regularly at a good standard for a good amount of time.

My only worry is on the distribution front, and considering he found touch every time he got the ball on Wednesday, he did nothing to allay those fears. Hennessey isn't known for his good footwork and distribution, but I think he's been getting better at it and was good on Wednesday.

He's not Ederson, but you can tell he's a Premier League keeper. He plays short when it's sensible to do so, and manages to do this well under a bit of pressure too. He also hits the right areas when he goes long I'll be gutted if he's out for 4 months - that's a big blow especially as he getting so close to 100 caps. He's a big part of our clean sheet record. Davies seems a decent shot stopper so I'd be happy with him in there, although I think Ward is a better keeper & would be more confident with him coming in IF he had regular club football under his belt. If I were him I'd be begging Leicester for a last minute loan to the Championship as a result of this news

Versus Bulgaria, two kicked clearances and managed to find touch each time. Perhaps he should be playing rugby. Seems he's playing well for Stoke though.

We'll have to see, I think generally though distribution wise it'd be easier for any goalkeeper when Kieffer Moore's on the pitch. I don't personally rate Hennessey's distribution, although to be fair perhaps I'm spoiled with some of the keepers the Swans have had in recent years, and he's not made a mistake with his feet in a long time. You'd imagine Danny Ward's footwork would be improving working under Brendan Rodgers, who's obsessive with goalkeepers ability to play out, if it became an issue. Mind you, we aren't able to see any evidence of this with how little he's going to play. Either way on the whole, I'm not as concerned as I would be losing someone like in other positions, who I think are far less replaceable as I think we do have three generally similar standard goalkeepers.

And as much as that'd be good for us, there's just no way that's going to happen with how much he cost. He's a very expensive second choice as it is, but to pay that for a goalkeeper and not even have him as your second choice just isn't going to happen.

He's got seven caps anyway, but he only has himself to blame really. He's settled for sitting on the bench, and taken the easy route, where as if he'd have pushed for a move to play week in, week out he'd certainly have got this chance but also would have been pushing Hennessey for that number one jersey regardless.

The only drawback I suspect is having to use tweezers every week to remove splinters from his posterior.

Since coming in to the Stoke side after lockdown, his clean sheet record is remarkable.
13 Games Played 9 Clean Sheets 5 Goals Against
Stoke City's defensive record in the same amount of games played, before Adam Davies was brought in was:
13 Games Played 3 Clean Sheets 24 Goals Against

Funny how things work out. Most people on this forum have been critical of Danny Ward for being content with just sitting on the bench at Leicester, now we’re all praying that it’s all he does for the next 3 weeks.

This is absolutely bonkers, I don't think we've ever suffered any serious keeper injuries apart from Hennessey vs Slovakia in the Euros!
