Anyone watching the game? How have the Welsh boys done? Watching it now. There’s currently 10 Welsh players on the pitch, surely a record for recent times. Vaulks playing well second half, Moore hasn’t been his best and missed a few opportunities to score. Jonny Williams, Wilson and Norton haven’t been on long after coming on as subs. Vokes came on early but haven’t seen him much, Davies in goal and Norrington-Davies doing ok. Joe Allen is being Joe Allen. Chester doesn’t seem the same player as he was before his injury but still solid enough |

Adam Davies not really tested, but almost dropped a howler at the end. I haven't really noticed Chester, which is probably a good sign as they've kept Cardiff quiet most of the game. RND has done alright bombing down the left wing. Joe Allen wasn't offering much for most of the game, but came good towards the end with some good passing and movement. Sam Vokes did alright off the bench, but nothing special. I was impressed by Christian Norton, he looks like a really good prospect.
On the Cardiff side, Moore had a poor game, missing 3 golden opportunities and not as dominant in his duels with CBs as he often is. Vaulks was alright, but again nothing special. Joniesta had a good impact off the bench. Wilson didn't get enough time

I'm really gutted for Chester, I was hoping we'd see him against Mexico at least, especially with Mepham and Rodon not getting many minutes you'd have thought Chester would be handy to have in the squad. Great performance from Adam Davies this afternoon. Kept a clean sheet, making 9 saves including a penalty save.

Should be our first choice keeper in my opinion. At least he is playing regularly for a mid table championship side. Ward and Hennesey seem happy to warm the bench at the moment. I dont think either will play regularly between now and March

I think you'd be mad to switch Ward at this stage, he's done very well for us, he does probably need to get out of there in the summer but the problem is there's big money in warming the bench for an established Premier League side.

All I here is they are all rubbish all the type.
They are obviously not elite but Ward finally has a chance - good on Rodgers for persevering with him - he is keeping clean sheets - let's hope he hits and keeps good form into the World Cup. The key thing is he is playing regularly
Davies - 3rd choice - at least he is playing
Hennessey - well we are all surprised he does not want to play regularly but it is what it is
Our problem is the lack of any promising goalkeepers in the 18-30 years of age category!

i don't think our keepers are crap,i think they are decent shot stoppers mostly,it's just the modern pass it back to the keeper and he is good on the ball and controls it and passes it out without incident,no we haven't got that,and it will be a problem going forward and cost goals.

It’s like everyone’s completely forgotten about Dan Barden Barden should surely be pushing for a loan move in January. Hopefully gets more game time with Norwich u21s until then. The next generation of keepers does suggest a bit of a dearth of talent as it stands. Worth noting David Robson is at least getting game-time at League 2 level aged 20, which isn’t too shabby. Here’s hoping he, Nathan Sheppard and David Harrington (interest dependent) (they’re pretty short at around 6 foot mind) make further strides in senior football before the keeper situation becomes critical. Worth noting Owen Evans and Tom King are 26 and 27, but I don’t see them (particularly King) threatening the no.1 spot any time soon. Baffles me how King is seemingly 4th choice over Chris Maxwell. James Pradic is also PNE’s 3rd choice aged 17 which also bodes well. |
