Sounds like he was partly at fault for the second goal - came for a cross, but failed to gather Got nowhere near the ball too. If he could make a couple of blunders against Caerdydd and Bristol, we may just still be in with a chance at the auto's.

Note West Ham have today signed Wes Foderingham.
I'm not getting my hopes up too much but maybe, just maybe, we'll actually have a keeper playing first team football?!

Leaving Sheffield United and has been linked with a move to Charlton in League One. Hopefully, he'll play. Personally, feel we need to cast the net out. Since even our established keepers in Ward and Davies are probably of League 1 quality.

Ward won promotion to the Premier league with Huddersfield, so he should be good enough for the Championship, although perhaps not the leading lights.

Ward is a bit of an anomaly. Very difficult to gauge what actual level he's able to perform at given the complete lack of game time over a 10 year playing career.
I know you refer to that Huddersfield stint but that's nearly 7/8 years ago now.
Leaving Leicester eventually. I just can't see any club Prem or Championship lining up to sign him as a starter.
Can see him in League One, MLS, Scottish Prem or Saudi maybe next move. Otherwise he's warming the bench for someone else I think if he wanted to stay within Premiership or Championship level.

Exactly. He didn’t cover himself in glory in their relegation and could arguably be blamed for theirc relegation. Basically the bloke isn’t going to get a gig in the championship without earning it. My expectation is he will have to drop down to league 1 or league 2 to get regular first team football and rebuild. My intuition tells me he won’t be up for that and will choose to waste away as a number 2 somewhere

He would be mad to give up his premiership wages to drop and play in league 1 on peanuts. No one here would do that either.

What has anyone who wanted to sign ward have to go on,all they have is looking at his performance for us as he doesn't play anywhere else, and if they look at them then he'd be lucky if Walsall wanted him let alone a premier League club

Financially he could well be on to make more in the next year, not playing for Leicester, then he might earn in his life after that point.
He'll be on a fraction of the wages at his next club, so the hope from our perspective is that he gets a loan move in this final year.

If the likes of myself is getting the impression that Ward lacks ambition and is happy enough with his lot of accepting being second choice at club level, but fully expecting to be number one choice for his country, then what are managers of clubs thinking of him as a potential signing ?

Seems as though staying on at Sheff Utd now. Rumoured to stay as their number 2. Grbic didn't cover himself in glory during last season but I imagine he'll be number 1 unless they get another keeper in. Despite reports of joining Charlton which I imagine he'd have been first choice.
I suppose its one of those. 31 y.o still plenty of years left in him but he might be settled up north. Not holding my breath on him starting anytime soon mind. Hopefully, we've got 3 keepers with scope of playing regularly by September

Signed a 2 year extension with Sheff Utd. I expect he'll be lucky to make 5 first team appearances over the course of his contract. Hope to god our incoming manager doesn't reward him for this with further call ups.

Hope to god our incoming manager doesn't reward him for this with further call ups. I understand the sentiment and frustration but we literally have no alternatives to our myriad non-playing goalies that are playing regularly at any sort of level. We have no choice but to persevere for now with Ward, Hennessey and Davies. I am confident Ward will leave Leicester permanently or on loan this summer because it's in the interests of all parties that he does so.

Ward 100% seeing out that contract till next year.
No club would sign him on loan on those wages unless Leicester subsidized it. Plus nothing gained from them because if he did impress he'd be a free agent by the end of the season.
Can't imagine he causes any issues in their camp. Quite happy to bide his time until he gets released.

Quite happy to bide his time until he gets released. On the past 7 seasons Ward has played a total of 48 club games. Last season he didn't make the bench in the Championship so he clearly isn't going to play in the Premier League. So yes, Leicester will be only too happy to subsidise his wages for the remaining year on his contract, otherwise they have cost with no benefit. On Ward's side he would be really dumb to just see out his contract without demonstrating he has something to offer a new club. He's only just turned 31 so has several years left of his career. I would be amazed if he doesn't sign for somebody even if it's only on loan to a league one club.

I'd be sceptical. Personally, he's not paid to play for Leicester he's there's to be available if they get injuries.
Leicester I imagine would rather send out their younger keepers on loan with an eye to resell them or scope of eventually making the first team.
They're not sending Ward out on loan and paying another a new players wages on top of it.
If he does move great but just can't see it happening unfortunately

The chance of Ward being called upon is very small, so it makes more sense for Leicester to have an inexpensive youngster as backup rather than a highly paid keeper who's almost certain to be redundant.
You also ignore Ward's opinion on this. He's not going to want to find himself out of contract with virtually nothing on his recent CV.

I think he'll see out his lucrative contract at Leicester, then he'll be a free agent to join any lower league team that fancies him. What a waste, he looked a promising GK at one time. We're going struggle for a few years in the GK department. Is there anyone on the horizon showing any signs of progressing?

Looks likely to start this evening. Think it's his spot to lose at the minute. If he does enough they'll keep him number 1, if he doesn't they'll go to the market I reckon.
There has been murmurs of them looking elsewhere but nothing concrete.
