Strange, there were plenty of tickets a few years ago, couldn't give them away and now the people that laughed at fans going away with Wales want tickets. These are the same fans that feel it's a closed shop, surely they must accept that loyalty should count and that the people who went through the bad times should be given a chance to enjoy the good times.

No one can nock loyalty scheme. As said, tickets were plenty up until euros and those who have travelled thru bad days SHOULD be rewarded. My point was if you was given a allocation number saying you total points and then saying 1 to 2000 for example have a period to claim a ticket then next 1000 for example all depends on ticket allocation.

Re-the FAW sending out forms to gauge fans intent, rather than waiting until a few weeks before the game (which has happened of late), why not send out a form now for this seasons aways i.e Austria, Ireland and Serbia. I appreciate that this is not binding and plans will change, but it might at least give the FAW some information upon which to base their discussions for extra tickets with the other associations?
That might actually enable the FAW to clarify well in advance how many tickets we will receive. If communicated to fans well in advance, this would at least allow us all to make a judgement on the chances of being successful before booking travel. By no means perfect, but the more info we get, as early as possible, the better.

Doh As someone suggested perhaps the Welsh Fa randomly select 200 people who need to pick tickets up in the country. Can keep an eye on it then. Also not giving so many tickets to people who know people might be a good idea. I know this happened in Lille.

Never had a problem getting tickets for any Wales game home or away until the FSF came along with all their scaremongering.
I think they have all the tickets and they are giving them to their mates some of whom are pensioners and allotment holders.

Some very touchy ppl on here - again!
The fact remains if there is a small allocation only so many at the top of the 'list' get the tickets as happens every time, so only those ppl get the chance to buy tickets.
Away travel club members in recent years believe they are the only true and 'real supporters' and deserve all the tickets.
If it is only the same couple of thousand fans that buy the tickets or get the chance to buy tickets then to the thousands left outside the chosen few it is a' closed shop'. How are they ever going to get a chance to go up the list.
Is this forumn for all Welsh fans, or just the 'real' the ones who have going away in recent years?

That is what a loyalty scheme does. It allows those that have shown loyalty - over a number of years - the opportunity to get the tickets for the games that they would have gone too regardless as to how well or badly the team is playing at that time. Away travel club members in recent years believe they are the only true and 'real supporters' I don't necessarily believe those that have travelled away in recent years are the 'real supporters', but they have shown a level of commitment that other supporters haven't. If it is only the same couple of thousand fans that buy the tickets or get the chance to buy tickets then to the thousands left outside the chosen few it is a' closed shop'. How are they ever going to get a chance to go up the list. By going to away games where we haven't taken up our full allocation. We didn't use our full allocation at Ukraine and Sweden for example (or Scotland, Belgium, Holland, Andorra). I think it is likely that we won't take our full allocation in Vienna. There are also a huge amount of fans on the list that don't do all the away games in a campaign, others I know just choose one game to go to each campaign, therefore if a fan is committed to following Wales, they can go to away games and easily get themselves higher up the loyalty scheme.

You don't have to go to aeay games or even every home game to be a real fan , there is welsh fans all over world live breath support for wales football more than my self who has been away and odd home game. Its not easy going to games if out side m4 corridor. So this im a real fan is petty #togetherstronger

Its not easy going to games if out side m4 corridor. So this im a real fan is petty #togetherstronger UEFA ruined home games for everyone with all this Friday night to Tuesday night nonsense. If you live a fair way away you have to take annual leave which, for a football match, is a waste imo when the standard annual leave allowance in the UK is about 27 days. As I said earlier if I am going to take annual leave for football I would rather do it for an away game and at least see a new part of the world while I am at it. I will probably fall foul of the loyalty scheme by taking this attitude, but so be it- I can't complain if I can't go to serbia because of people who have been to more games than me. I think the term 'real fan' can actually be easily defined, simply put they are the ones who give a shit when times are bad- whether that be by going to games, or by venting on the internet. They took an interest and had an opinion when no-one else wanted to know. They care about their team and want them to be better than they are.

If it means someone who has been to more away games than me gets a ticket and I don't, then I consider that fair enough.

+1 for marsvolta The genuine question is not how many games one has the opportunity to see, home or even away. I truly believe that priority should be given to those that stuck by the side, through thick and thin - even after the "glory" days of the Terry Yorath USA campaign 1994 and the Hughes Euro 2004 Campaign ... the lads that went out to Montenegro and Bulgaria (and not just the glory hunters that Went to Germany and Italy etc). Even this year there were about 500 of us in Kiev and even fewer in Stockholm ... I can imagine us struggling to fill our quota for Vienna, as well.

Are Georgia not playing their games at the Dinamo stadium? That holds over 50k so we would get a decent allocation there too I would think? Worsy, I can't imagine too many people actually going to Russia even if we do qualify - so i feel that your fear of people trying to accumulate loyalty points is misplaced. This soon after the Euros, I'd be quite surprised if there will actually be more than 1,500 wanting to go to Austria. If you look at the group games in Russia there are none where a quick spin down a motorway or on a train are applicable. 3 hours minimum likely on a plane some even more for some en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_FIFA_World_CupLots of cash upfront needed in booking and not relying on pay in May to cover the cost.

... not to mention the fact that the locals get tickets at almost ten times less than us foreign devils ...
... there is a lovely boat trip up from Volgagrad to Moscow ... does take 8 days though ...

If that wasn'the bad enough people are too spooked by the hooliganism after the Euros. I'm quite enthused by Russia personally, a trip into the relative unknown captures the imagination far more than a cushy hour or so on a Eurostar to the country next door. I'very got everything crossed we get to Russia because I would love to go. Provided I could get a ticket, but I am optimistic for the above reasons.

Evolution guys. Yes reward and respect loyalty but look to the future fan as well. If the younger fans never experience an away international in a foreign country how can we sustain what we all enjoyed in France. 20K sea of red hit the headlines not the 3K faithful. All due respect to the loyal faithful but one eye on sustainability as well for me.

This was the same crap pushed out about Poland and Ukraine and aside from Poland v Russia fans there was nothing.
Apparently if German qualified they said they would drive everywhere as apparently they have lots of old Maps from the 1940's.

Actually the faithful supporting the boys got us to the euros so 20k could witness it
3 out 5 away qualifiers where without loyalty including the first that set us on the way in andorra only belgium and bosnia and reason belgium easy trip and expectation increased and bosnia small allocation and we could qualify
whats unsustainable is not looking after they loyal because reality is should we start next campaign poorly and us actaully failing to qualify is more likely than qualifying the crowd will disappear we used to get bigger crowds at home at both arms park and then millennium but rarely have had to have loyalty away because we didnt sell out including in RUssia play off game
usally when we play England and one time that was done first come first served when we played in Old trafford and that set us back as some stopped following as aresult
remember home tickets used to be sold from local sports stores and ticketline in cardiff and now we sell ours through website and telephone provided by Ticketmaster and at the ground and also have a membership scheme to reward loyalty so improvements on the past
theyre is always ways they can improve but we have already seen improvement and i am sure we see more in the future
FAW have always tried to get as many tickets for demand like when we took 10,000 to san siro in italy
if we sold out all away qualifiers then maybe five percent of allocation could be allocated in a lottery to those who didnt have enough loyalty but there are plenty of chances to see Wales away so dont see theyre is any need unless there is obvious change in historical way of welsh fans behaving in regards ticket slaes

If I have my facts right we would only get around 500 tickets for Moldova away (please correct me if I got this wrong) so any question of accommodating younger fans with no loyalty points is a difficult question to answer, maybe the earlier suggestion of contacting fans up front of a campaign (like now) with notice of intent to travel to games if tickets are available could be one suggestion. Therefore if say Austria away does not sell out to the loyal faithful then ticket office could make their way along a waiting list of fans without the same loyalty points. It's a difficult one that's for sure.

I read this back and it does not come across as I aimed it to. Point I am making is we all enjoyed the sea of red and I just hope that there is a way the FAW can find a system to capture some of the new young fans in this 2018 away campaign as all the stadiums in France were a sea of red which will live with me forever.

I can't really think of any alternative to the system that the FAW has at the moment. Isn't what you are suggesting what is happening at the moment? That they allocate tickets based on a loyalty scheme, but then if there are tickets left over, they can go to those with no loyalty points? The FAW sometimes ask for fans intentions for games and I think that they did some kind of 'names out of the hat' type of thing for those with the lowest number or maybe those with no loyalty points for the last Belgium away game? i.e. there was only say 500 tickets left, but 750 with little or no points had applied to go. If you have a lottery for a small number of tickets, that sure is going to create acrimony amongst fans. Imagine if you were one of the 600 most loyal fans (i.e. those that qualified for tickets to Bosnia), but you didn't get a ticket to Moldova because a lottery was set up for a portion of the tickets and 'your' ticket goes a new fan?

As stated this would be only an idea if people frozen out of ever going away by allways requiring high loyalty and thus same people which has never been the case in the history of welsh football there are always qualifiers and friendly that require no loyalty theyre where 3 in last campaign andorra cyprus and israel and in next campaign theyre could be some Austria and georgia serbia maybe high demand for ROI and moldova small allocation
