Don't think he'll be a big miss. Doubt he'll make the grade at Wolves and would be surprised if he's playing regularly in the Prem any time soon. He might end up a decent Championship player but nothing to loose sleep over.

Confirms the atrocious setup we had under Paul Bodin who imo should never be allowed near any Welsh coaching setup at any level.

A real shame. Agreed, massive cock-up by Bodin. But if he really felt Welsh he’d have accepted a call-up.

Not sure if I've missed something here, but what exactly was Bodin's cock-up? Was it just not calling Campbell up to the U21s earlier? If that's it, and Campbell has thrown his toys out of the pram and turned his back on Wales completely because of it then I wouldn't want him anywhere near the squad anyway. He can sod right off with that sense of entitlement.

Stalemate is more positive than negative I guess. Leaves a door open to things changing for the better in the future, but we've got players ready to wear red shirt now who deserve to be cheered on today.

Can't help but feel it's a bit of a blow him not wanting to be selected as this time. People saying no loss because he's at Wycombe, he's clearly a talented boy and isn't doing to bad at Wycombe either.

Interesting thought if he were to be part of the setup, should he be with the u21 or fastracked to the seniors??

He strikes me as someone who isn't especially passionate for international football, but I'm sure he would accept a senior call up
I guess it poses a question of whether we should bother with him if he ever becomes good enough
But on a level I can understand the thought of "I haven't 'made it' until I make it as a senior at club level, and I need 100% focus on that". It's not a popular school of thought with us as Wales fans, we'd all kill for an U15s cap. However I can understand it on a level
We have to remember as well that not all U21s end up in the first team, but usually a player doing well at Championship level and beyond is likely to make the seniors. So in terms of wanting to make the senior team it's not the worst plans

He did not understand playing international football at age group level would have helped his development
More fool him

This is why it's kinda pointless getting too excited about a player based on performances at youth level. His performances at that level have not translated. People were talking about losing him to England at one point, I'd say at this rate it's more likely that the question is whether he'll ever be good enough to turn out for us
Still plenty of time ahead of him, don't get me wrong. But not getting into Charlton's team means he's likely League Two level atm, and given the players we do have in his position I'd say it's unlikely he'll be anywhere near the squad in the next few years. If he can work his way up to the Championship he could be there abouts in about 4 or 5 years perhaps

Jordan James came back to us and helped us beat Croatia. Best to have hope and support until a player closes door on us fully.

Dj and Harry Wilson had some poor loan moves to League 1, they turned out okay!

Didn't look up to much against the non league team tonight. Doesn’t sound good - glad an Apostle watched him. I read BBC Sport where Matthew Upson said he looked dangerous and the most likely to make the break through, before he went off injured. I wasn’t sure I believed that assessment.

In the 15 mins I watched before he was subbed he was clearly the best player on the pitch and commentators were saying the same.

He looked pretty good in the first half. Admittedly it was playing with and against inferior players but that's not his fault. He's not done anything to suggest he's an international player in waiting but I wouldn't write him off just yet on the basis of what I saw.

Probably needs to kick on within the next couple of years if he's going to become an international. Has approx 60 senior appearances, most of which are in League One. 21 now so I'd like to see him moving up to the Championship before he's 23 really

He seems to be gaining in confidence at Reading. Quick direct and can finish. Something we could do with.
