Sorry lads but if you think a hat trick against Morecambe should be enough to get you in this Wales squad you have a severe case of Wrecsam-brain.

It's cumulative and becoming harder to ignore. Not going to go through the pluses again as there's a whole thread full of em. Bottom line. Is he a better squad option than Bradshaw? I'd say. Yes probably. But we're never going to know if he doesn't get an opportunity.

For him to get in squad he will need to get a hatful and get some against higher league opposition in the cup. And for Bradshaw to have a bad season. A tall order.

However if we lose v Finland, call up v Estonia possibility and then Nations League or if all goes well, pre-Euros friendlies?

I would love to see him given a chance at some point. Even allowing for the quality os opposition (2 of his goals today went straight through the goalie) he has something about him that makes me think he'll thrive in a Cymru shirt.

Some just take to international football and his track record and demeanour just makes me think he'd take it all in his stride. It might not work but just feel we could be missing out on a significant asset. Plus he'd be well used to the standard of coaching

Until Mullin can produce a record similar, at the same higher level, Bradshaw will probably get the nod ahead of him. Mullin is a few years younger though so that could work in his favour.

So Paul can hope for a call up in about 7 or 8 years time then By the way, in all this I mean no disrespect to Tom who's had a fine career. Just in this context he becomes the point of comparison as the likes of Roberts, Church and Harris have done in the past. You may well be proven right but for me it comes down to this. If you're 1-1 with 10 minutes to go and you decide to bring on a sub to grab a winner and you have Bradshaw and Mullin on the bench, who's your choice?

This 3rd strike is a top strikers' goal at any level.

This 3rd strike is a top strikers' goal at any level. I think we need to take a look at him but at international level he’s not scoring those.. Bad defending and awful an goalkeeper, for the first 2 at least. You can see the gap in quality.

He took it well but he's playing against Morecambe's defence ffs. International football is a completely different level.

Is it Latvia? Is it San Marino? Also, you’ll find that a few games as far down as League 2 are usually postponed due to call-ups in the international windows.

The problem we have is its all subjective. Wrexham are popular atm, they're hoovering up casual fans and those of a Wrexham disposition are having a blast. Everything is going right for them at the moment and they want to see 'one of their own' on the international stage.
But I still have a problem with his chosen career path. You could drop any League One top scorer in the Conference and they'd shine. He may well have his own personal reasons for signing (or maybe pure ££££), but the fact is he spent last season scoring a shedload of goals playing at a level he had no business dropping down to. A footballer's career is short, I find it bonkers you wouldn't want to play at the highest possible level.
Wrexham, with all the buzz surrounding them, have also proven to be a tough cookie in one off games against higher league opposition. But playing in one off games against Championship opposition is also a different proposition to being an actual Championship striker and doing it week-in and week-out.
Even if he had played against Gibraltar in our last friendly, I'd hazard that the opposition was even weaker than what he plays against in League Two. The lack of proper friendly games these days can't be helping his cause.

I don't think he'll be getting a look in until after the tournament potentially, if we fail to qualify maybe before then, but by then he may well be a League One striker on the back of two big goal scoring seasons. That will help his cause, and it won't be as simple as dismissing him because of the opposition as people have been up until now
I'll make this prediction now, Paul Mullin scores for Wales in a competitive match at some point over the next few years. I really really like him as a player, his attributes transcend the leagues he's been playing in and he would score goals in the Championship for sure

Peter Taylor played as a left footed right winger for Crystal Palace in the old Division Three and his performances against First Division sides in the FA Cup earned him an England call up. Personally I think Mullin could offer us something different as sub and his hunger and determination combined with his guile and ability wouldn't look out of place against sides like Armenia, Latvia, Estonia, Belarus etc. sides, in Estonia and Belarus, where the likes of Mark Harris and Tyler Roberts failed to really do anything. He's worth a look at some point.

A combination of Paul Mullin continuing to score bag loads of goals, and our downturn in performances (Croatia aside) I am now in the “Mullin In” camp for the very first time. Cardiff fan for context.
I’d even start him v Finland, as mental as that sounds.

I’d argue that he’s a league 1 player ( at best) he certainly knows where the goal is but he’s quite slow and I doubt he would get much change out of any decent championship defence. On saying that there’s no harm in bringing him into the squad and a place on the bench ( in case we need a plan C ).

On saying that there’s no harm in bringing him into the squad and a place on the bench ( in case we need a plan C ). I agree. I think it’s fairly obvious he has the ability to do it consistently in League 1, but maybe not the Championship. But the Championship is an exceptionally good league - not far off the top 10 in Europe I’d suggest. A lot (most?) of the defences we face would struggle to get into a good Championship side. This whole “international level” thing is a myth.

I think Mullin would have been useful to have against Armenia away. Their defence was old and slow, and probably no better than League One level at best. Mullin would have caused them problems.

I don't think he'd look out of place in the Championship. Why doesn't he go and show it then? He won't because he has a good gig at WXM and I don't blame him for staying but by doing so he's ruling himself out of Welsh selection. I am not sure how committed he is to international football really. Said it before but if he played from Bromley last year and Morecambe this year there is not a change people would be clamouring for his selection, its purely because he plays for WXM and has a large profile now. Goals against teams in higher divisions in one off cup games does not prove hes good enough for Wales. International standard for Wales is the standard required to qualify for major tournaments IE are they better or worse than Finland and Polands players. Hard to argue you a lad playing in the fourth tier of English football is better than the players that make up those squads.

The highest level I see him scoring goals with regularity is the Championship. Can see him getting around 15 goals in the Championship
