Sam Bowen is going to tear it up at Newport and become a squad regular within a year, heard it here first!

Starting tonight and got an assist Could he make the next squad? He's jumped ship. Judging by all the social media stuff surrounding his England (u21 or u20) call up, I don't see him returning to the Welsh set up.

That was back in May, he’s probably switched allegiance twice more since then and is now Peruvian after their incredible run to claim a World Cup spot.

I’d be hugely surprised were he not back in our fold judging by his recent social media activity. Could be the Colwill of the World Cup squad.
18 year old starting at a Championship team in a problem position certainly isn’t to be sniffed at!

He'll be in the next U21 squad, if he starts the season well he could make a claim to be close to the seniors with our lack of depth at midfield
He'll surely at least be part of a group of youngsters that tag along with the seniors to prep them for the future. Like we did with Ampadu/Brooks in 2016 etc..

James' development will certainly be helped by the problems behind the scenes. Always helps when a team has nobody else. Wasn't outstanding against us but certainly didn't look out of place at the level.

I hope he gets some minutes in the upcoming games. I think Morrell and Smith are pretty cemented, but he is a better prospect/player than Levitt.

I suppose if he puts his pragmatic head on and despite being with England Under 20 recently he could be a couple of injuries away from going to a World Cup with us.

“Jordan was deflated somewhat with his (England) experience for a number of reasons, and we are delighted he has come back to his brothers with open arms.” quote from matty jones, wonder what that is all about?

Though having someone in the camp telling the youngsters that the grass isn’t greener won’t do any harm.

Wonder if JJ will actually be asked to explain the situation. Although I’d imagine the answer would be heavily PR’d. I did read that a Birmingham coach is involved in the England set-up, which might have been a factor in attracting him there.
It seems that Brooksy still gets asked about his Toulon Tournament situation.

I'd like to think all these young lads get their head turned at the thought of training/playing with the england under age sides but when they do they realise shit the Welsh set up is much more friendly and professional,i don't think i'm far off the mark tbh ,well ok maybe not bodin

It's the same as the other youngsters who tried the England camp but came back to us, except it's never really been put out in public in that (sloppy) manner. I don't think it makes us sloppy seconds, just a better setup

I can’t get over the clamour to try and steal from England a kid playing for a dogshit Birmingham side, especially after all that’s gone before. It’s a bit of a slap in the face to the young Welsh lads coming through the system that we are prepared to take him back and give him a seniors place so quickly without leaving him some time to reflect on the way all this was handled.

Seem to remember Osian encouraging the dual qualified youngsters to experience the other camp. No point them harbouring regrets later. Will soon know if he's someone who sees Wales as 2nd best or whether he's come back for the right reasons. Wonder if Matty Jones was taking the piss somewhat in those comments. (Out of England and Jordan). Up to him now whether he gets 5 caps with us or 50 (talent and fitness allowing).

FFS,dual qualified players have been encouraged to try out their other options since Osian took over,it's probably why we get less of the Rice situations than the ROI,it's not a big deal and if your so upset about it maybe we should stop selecting them? Or is your solution just to gripe about it from a position of ignorance.

If you had used your eyes and engaged your brain you would see that upthread that I had no criticism of Ampadu and Brooks, this is purely about the song and dance created by the player and family after being selected for England. Imo he should be brought in after the World Cup because what message does it send out to welsh players in the under 21 who never went elsewhere and wrote goady posts on social media that he comes back and instantly gets called up to the seniors on the eve of the World Cup? He’s leap frogging everyone else in the hearts and minds of the fans and obviously Page too purely by dint of leveraging the fact he plays for the mighty Birmingham City. How depressing is that? Is that really how cheap we are as a nation? If it was a Premiership youngster displaying exceptional ability I could at least understand it more even if I still wouldn’t be happy about the situation.

Bloody hell, some of you really do get worked up over the smallest things. Some of the outrage seems a little confected. I'm fairly certain the u21s won't give a toss about what Jordan James' father posted on twitter. I'm betting the group will be more pleased than anything about further evidence of a clear pathway to the first team for any promising youngster.
