Ireland looking good for relegation,2-0 down at home to Greece Republic Of Ireland’s crowd looked a bit patchy too. I’ve always been a bit jealous that even in the bad times they get good crowds. Whereas in Wales it only takes a few years in the gutter and our fans fall away. Greece were very comfortable in the 2nd half. 0-2 did not flatter the Greeks.

Glad to see Wales pick up the win on Monday. Couldn't watch the games here in the US, only a few of the Nations League games were shown this weekend on the TV package that I currently have. I did follow along via the internet and then watched the highlights after the game. As big Harry Wilson fans, we were excited to see him hit from distance. When he's on, he has a great knack of putting the ball in the top corner. Great goal in horrible conditions.
I'm looking forward to our visit to Cardiff in Oct. I saw today that tickets for the Oct 14th game go on sale midday tomorrow. I'm assuming that means 12 Noon Wales local time. I'd love some advice on great places to sit in Cardiff City stadium. I'll have my family, wife 2 boys, appreciate any input on a great place to be in the grounds. I went ahead and purchased a membership, figured why not considering its not everyday we will be in a Wales for a national game. Why take a chance of missing out over 30USD.

Canton Stand has the best atmosphere, but getting 4 seats together will be a push. If that is the case, next best bet is the corner between Canton & Ninian Stands. Being on a Monday night there’s no way the crowd will be anything like as large as last Friday, so tickets won’t be a problem.

I'd love some advice on great places to sit in Cardiff City stadium. I'll have my family, wife 2 boys. I’d suggest the Ninian stand. Blocks 112-117. I would not recommend the Canton stand for a family on their first visit. The ‘amazing atmosphere’ from there is also very questionable.

Family stand:
I agree that it largely depends on the age of the children as the Family Stand has some good entertainment for young people and may be enjoyed if the children are, estimating as long time since I was that age, under age of 11.
Canton:
I'd probably avoid the Canton as a first experience and definitely so if children aren't at least 16. It's typically the noisiest stand but people stand throughout the game and you're most likely to find drunk people (not in a scary way, it's good natured in my experience, but can be a little unnerving if you're not used to it); however, if you're going here definitely make sure you get in early to avoid the queues of people closer to kick-off and enjoy the band/Welsh team warming up with shooting drills.
Grandstand:
Lower Grandstand at the Canton side is next to the noisy bit of the ground so you pick up on atmosphere without being in it, you get to see subs warming up and think the S4C media team are quite often filming in front of there - if they're big fans of Sgorio. It's quite a small number of people, could be good if they're not used to sports crowds and how busy it can get, but the views aren't always the best. The closer you get to the players tunnel the better the views but typically the more expensive and less of an atmosphere. Someone else can tell you if sports shop is open on match days but the shop is located in Grandstand.
Ninian:
The Ninian Stand probably has the best views and likely to sell out last (Upper Ninian has the best views possible as the highest but you feel slightly cut off from the crowd - it's usually the last stand to open as they aim to sell lower bowl first) but it's the stand with the largest number of people*. There might be people standing in the block closest to the away fans (117) or block closest to Canton (109-111). Again be more mindful of queuing to get in.
*Of course this is relative. If your family is used to large NFL stadiums, then they may feel the whole stadium is a small number of people.
If you're going into the Ninian you might want to try to be at least halfway up so to get best view and avoid any rain.

Wales Turkey live was Argentinian Spanish commentary and Montenegro Live was English. No language option. But you get live games and the replay whenever you want.

Georgia looking good in group B1 having won both games so far. Away to Albania and home to the Czech Republic. Would be some achievement if they got promoted to league A. I wonder whether any of their fans still hark back to a certain home game in November 1994, or is their recent success all consuming? Cymru have thankfully travelled a long way from that day almost 30 years ago. Recent games have restored hope we can stay closer to the top as compared to closer to the bottom.

I'm guessing November 84 must have been our 5-0 loss to them,my god was even worse than being 5-0 down to Romania at halftime, at least we knew Romania were a good team, Georgia defeat was even more shocking ,it was 5-0 wasn't it? I've tried to scrub it from my memory, not sure if I remember score correctly 😁

Rush, Hughes and other senior players changed the tactics on their own at half time. Mike was out of touch with the game decades after a successful stint when Yorath, Flynn and Toshack were still playing. Edit p.s. I think a defender called Alan Nielsen (spelling?) had an absolute shocker!!!

I have no remembrance of years if I'm honest,I just remember the horrendous defeats, funny how things like that stick with you even when you don't want it to, still have shivers when I see those massive eastern block stadiums with the track around them ,maybe there wasn't a running track, who knows who cares, at least we've had much better times since, and we actually won that Romania game 1-0 in the second half, small victories😁

In 1994 I wasn't aware of how painful the next 20 years would be.

Georgia really are a bogey side for us aren't they, still like them though, actually support them,if they are not playing us, watched lots of their games when they were in our group and couldn't believe they were so low in the rankings, obvious they only needed a star player or some impetuous, seems like they might have found it

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions and help in this thread. I was able to get 4 tickets this morning for the game. I liked the idea of trying to get some of the atmosphere of the Canton stand, but agree that the kids probably wouldn’t do well with the environment of standing the whole game. I was able to get 4 tix in the 408 section which appears to be on that side of the stadium. It was a little extra, but being able to go into the lounge area also may help if my youngest gets cold. I was able to get seats on the aisle and am hoping the elevation of that stand will help my kids view.
Surge, as you mentioned, the stadium is going to feel cozy compared to what we’re used to here with the NFL stadiums. My boys have only seen soccer in the Atlanta and Philadelphia NFL stadiums. Both are somewhat sterile environments compared to what they’re going to see on this trip. I’m excited for them to experience all of this first hand.
Not to hijack the thread and turn it into my personal travel thread, but I’d love any suggestions on any good spots around the stadium or downtown to go pregame for the match.
Thanks again everyone!

I normally have a tournament ticket but this time round I'm buying game by game. Does anyone know the prices for the Upper Ninian if and when they go on sale? Struggling to find the £30 tickets elsewhere in the ground as I need 3 or 4 together.

Depends which direction you're travelling to the stadium from, The Grange pub is on the way for me and a good halfway stop that has lots of fans. The Cornwall is similar, normally have to stand outside cos it's busy so weather dependent. Both are very "Cardiff" pubs. If you're heading over from Canton there's plenty of choice. If you're heading in from town there's usually lots of fans in the pubs on Womanby street too

With all due respect to Georgia what a humiliating way for the likes of Rush’s international career to fizzle out. In saying that though the Georgia team that day would have a few players grace the premier league so in hindsight it wasn’t as complete an embarrassment as it was at the time.

Georgian football has always been strong. Dynamo Tblisi provided the backbone of the USSR team in the 70s & 80s.
In many ways the loss to Moldova the month before was worse as they were proper minnows. However it was the worst time possible to be playing former Soviet states, they had just gained independence & were full of confidence & spirit & sure enough we were on the end of it.

Wondering what people think our best side is under Bellamy, assuming everyone is fit? Still a tricky question to answer. For the sake of argument I'm imagining we're playing at home, as there are less tactical accommodations that need to be made
Ward/Darlow Roberts-Rodon-Davies-Neco Ampadu Wilson-Brooks Brennan-Ramsey-DJ
Watching that Turkey game back and seeing the spaces JJ gets into in possession, I can very much imagine Brooks doing that in an ideal scenario
Think DJ also comes in for Sorba and makes us a bit more explosive and giving us a threat in behind. Think Sorba did brilliantly, but he can play either side so is a great replacement to have
Another question is whether Beck's form forces his way into the lineup and what that means for Neco/Connor. I think Neco is the better player, so if he understands the role Connor plays I feel like he can do it better in the long term, but at the moment perhaps Connor's knowledge gives him the edge
The keeper call is a toss up. Will be interesting to see who starts the next two

Will depend on the strength of the opposition. Bellamy will have a bespoke gameplan for each opposition. He'll probably want JJ to start against stronger sides, but Brooks could be an option against weaker teams (although he's unlikely to get much gametime at all before the next transfer window so maybe he's out of the equation as a starting option in the NL campaign). I suspect Bellamy went for Moore against Montenegro because he wanted to play with more structure (not that it worked in those conditions) because they thrive on chaotic games where there are lots of transitions.
