Poland right back scores a worldie! Terrific game, available on YT.
Ben Doak is going to the top.

If it's 2nd in group for us, would like to avoid Scotland if I'm honest.
Draw is Friday lunchtime.

With Doak in the side Scotland are on the way up. Belgium seem to be sliding, albeit they were in a very tough group. All three potential group A opponents will be tough but all are beatable.
First we have to avoid defeat tomorrow night...

We don't want to face Armenia or Slovakia from the C league for sure.

I think Scotland would beat us. They have greater physicality and more consistency and players that aren't afraid to make something happen - they seem to score quite a few late winners / never give up.

Would be a great occasion against Scotland and we’ve had the better of them in recent years. Hungary and Belgrade great trips as well.
Please not Belgium again…

If nothing else, I'm sure Craig would welcome 2 very competitive fixtures prior to the WC qualifiers.

Scotland would turn us over fairly easy at the moment. They have a far superior squad and mentality. Not sure Id fancy us against any of the above tbh.

They probably edge it on paper against us, but they're not as good as Turkey imo - and we more than held our own against them over the course of the two games

San Marino's first away win sees them promoted to League C. Great stuff for them, the Nations League has been a brilliant addition to the calendar

I didn’t see their game against Croatia, but apparently they were poor and got dominated against 10 men after a ridiculous sending off around the 40min mark. We beat Croatia much more convincingly. Equally, they looked very good against Poland yesterday- so swings and roundabouts. Don’t agree that they have better players all over the park - we have a much better defence (particularly at centre back and right back, will give them left back), they have a better midfield, and we have much better forward options. Apart from Doak, who’s only just finding his way, they don’t have much else to offer up front. I think it would be very close personally

Got to finish second first but if we draw Scotland, expect full houses with big travelling support. Bring it on

Scotland very fortunate against Croatia, and a draw would have been a fair result against a much improved Polish side. Doak looks a very exciting prospect. The one area where we definitely have an edge is with our manager. Clarke reminds me of Page, decent man and manager but lacking something. Bellamy will be a PL manager at the very least.

For years now people have queried my wife's maiden name (Doak) Perhaps now there is an up and coming footballer with the same name she may not have to repeat it five times!! Other "famous" Doaks, Jim Doak, guitarist (and my wife's cousin!) with 70's Scottish punk bank The Jolt.

What players do they have that are superior to ours? Not sure I understand it when people fear Scotland and Ireland on here.

Twice we had Poland at home in key games and twice we ultimately failed.
I wish we had more of Scotland's self belief. Nothing exciting or particularly special (albeit Doak from comments seems a top class player in the making) and yet the tend to nail these type of games when they have a competitive team, as noted above

I think my combined team would be something like this Darlow. Wales Neco. Wales Davies Wales Rodon. Wales Robertson. Scotland Ampadu. Wales Mctominay. Scotland Mcginn. Scotland Doak Scotland James. Wales Johnson. Wales
Subs Gordon. Scotland Ralston. Scotland Tierney Scotland Mepham. Wales Wilson. Wales Brooks. Wales Allen. Wales Gilmour. Scotland Christie. Scotland Moore. Wales Adam’s. Scotland Koumas. Wales
That’s a 23 man squad with with 13 welsh

Would be close between Glimour and Ampadu, most neutrals would probably go for Gilmour. Tierney would only come in with a change in system. Looking at it from a Scottish perspective, you could go for: Darlow Neco Ampadu Rodon Tierney Robertson Gilmour McTominay McGinn Johnson Adams 532 - 6 Scots and 5 Welsh, although would be a bit of a toss up between Adams, James and maybe even Doak if you could work out a way of playing him wide in this system

Addition of play offs for NL has made it even better. So much on every game
Am I right in thinking that at one stage last night, Scotland were 1 goal away from being in pot 1 for the WC qualifiers but are now in pot 3?

Montenegro last two games at home to Iceland and Turkey. Currently on zero points. I think they can take points in the home games. Yeah thought so.
