Brilliant post completely agree. Page exposed for lack of leadership and his loyalty has made a fool of us. Who exactly has he made a fool of? He may have made some errors but he's neither set out to deceive nor outsmarted 'us' in some way. In fairness to him, he's done a fair bit more for his country than most, both as a player and as a manager. Care to set out what you have achieved? He said he got it wrong first game FACT. He also said he had learnt from his mistakes FACT. ….unfortunately what he really meant was I’m incapable of dropping any of the players cos I’m not strong enough. Hence we end up trying to shoe horn in an unfit 35 year old to try and save us. Ffs what a shit show. he’s been completely exposed for his wrong squad selection and his wrong team selection and tactics. btw I’ve not achieved what Page has achieved but I’ve probably been to more away matches than he has or you has. So I’m entitled to my opinion. |

Tonight's result is so irrelevant England could beat us 7-0 if motivated This is what I feared - watching us wimper out and play very poor football. No neutral will miss us and we are just pure boring. Some players scared, some unfit and our shape all over the place. We played a significant part in our downfall I almost wish we did not make it to this WC - Ukraine would have been far, far better than us. I am embarrassed by the impression we are leaving the world - we should have been far better than that individually and collectively. I just feel empty - almost like I don't care - its been so, so disappointing Don't want to vent my unhappiness too much at Bale, Ramsey or Page - they have all contributed in us getting here and so they are in credit. I just wish Bale and Ramsey had more hunger to play football as their inaction finally caught up with us today. They need to decide if they still love the game or not at their age. As for Page - I am just flabbergasted he could play 3 players not match fit and leave a massive gapping hole in our midfield. We are not a pub team - how could this happen? The US and Iran just ran straight through the middle of us again and again when on the front foot. Iran should have scored 5 against us. Embarrassing. We are suck with Page for 4 years and it seems so unlikely he can built a new team without the old guard, whereas like him or hate him - Giggs did that. Please no one give me this shit about loyalty again - you need energy and edge. You need a youngish average squad age and you need players knowing of they disappointed, there is someone ready to take their place. If you don't do that you end up like a flat battery. Hennessey, Bale, Ramsey, Allen and Wilson - all short of match practise through injury, and Roberts awful - I presume because of losing his place at Burnley. Even players who have been OK lost control of the ball in key areas - both Neco and Moore did so in dangerous positions. We are down to 10 men and Page does nothing to adapt to it. We should be defensive at that moment but have players surging forward leaving massive gaps Our golden era is behind us. With Bale and Ramsey, we were better than Scotland and both Irelands for much of the last decade. Their best days are behind them, nothing of the same quality is replacing them and we will return to mediocrity. Its a shame but its the cold honest truth isn't it? Brilliant post completely agree. I know Bale and Ramsey looked tired and lethargic today but at least they have the excuse of being in their early thirties and drawing near to the conclusion of their careers. It was only when Sterling was subbed off tonight that I remembered he was on the pitch - and he's only 27. Hope he plays like that against us.

England have weaponised Sterling’s ability to con refs into giving penalties. When he runs at defenders you can see they are terrified to go near him because he’ll be looking to fall over. That’s the only reason I can come up with for why they continue to persevere with him. Overall on a day when the focus has been on loyalty Southgate’s loyalty to his regulars appears to once again have held England back. 1 win in 8 games for them now. |

Said it before USA game when line-up was anncounced - no Allen so surely Morrell has to start!!! - we were totally overrun in midfield in both games - Joe Morrell never gives ball away and is tidy - he would have stayed in the centre circle and been an outlet - Morrell has NEVER played poorly for Wales and is the reason we got to Euro 2020 - crying shame he wasn't played!!! - that is the reason we are probably going out!!!!

All I really want to see is legs and fight from this last game. If the boys run themselves into the ground and we lose i'll take it. If we go with the same lineup as the previous two games again I think I'll struggle to get myself to go to games for a while.
