Just had a quick look and odds unavailable for new date but old date ‘The previous odds at Bet365 had Scotland priced at 2.37 with Ukraine available at 2.90 and a draw set at 3.40.’ Tierney is out. That is a blow. I think the emotional factor gives Ukraine an edge. Honestly. Look at the Danes after the Eriksen story! Scotland score first. But I think 2-1 to Ukraine after extra time. How many of Ukraine’s first 11 play outside Ukraine? People are talking about match fitness but surely 3 or 4 play outside anyway. Austria were slight favorites against Wales. I couldn’t work that out. Warned you

Honestly reckon Bale, James, Ramsey and Johnson would ruin this Scotland back line today. It's really really unimpressive.

With the likes of Davies, Bale, Ramsey, Allen etc, looking to retire shortly What?! Bale maybe, but Ben Davies isn’t even 30 yet!

Why do I get the feeling this is going to be another random entry in the annals of Welsh footballing failure, right up there with floodlight failures and hitting the bar.
“Invaded country finds 6th gear even they didn’t know they had to power their way to the World Cup at the expense of sorry Wales” 😕

Yeah we’ll definitely offer more *in theory* But this game is a complete lesson in what can happen if you, as the home team, don’t handle the occasion. Scotland really aren’t coping with the knock out context, but they’re also not coping with playing during such an emotional context.

I think I expected Ukraine to be technically superior, but I expected more from Scotland. They seem completely overwhelmed. Still a long way to go though

Scotland have really done fuck all against quality teams. Their win against Denmark was against a very much B squad and apart from that they managed a draw against England.

I actually have a bit of sympathy here with Scotland. Ukraine’s last competitive game was months ago- yet they look as well drilled as a club side. There’s plenty of evidence here that their ability to have a month long camp has benefited them. That might balance out as it seems the commentators are expecting Ukraine to tire. They look like they could run all night from where I’m sitting.

I think we're much better equipped for it than Scotland if I'm honest, we've managed to do what's required at home in all of our crunch matches since Ireland and Bale is the ultimate "big game" player.

I was thinking the same. Do Scotland only show up against England or something? I was expecting a bit more passion from both teams really. Its like watching game 15 of the Premier League. Its a massive opportunity for a World Cup, get yourselves stuck in.

Argentina 2 up on Italy. Solid at the back, looking one of potentially 4 teams that could win the WC

Totally agree with that. I was really confident whoever we played but seeing how slick Ukraine are…they are playing with the swagger of a team who know they can’t lose. I’m less confident at the moment but we’ll certainly give them different problems. And we definitely shouldn’t get caught by a long ball over the top! It all depends on if we freeze and home advantage works against us early on like with Scotland. If we start poorly Ukraine will be all over us.

It's all going t*ts up for Scotland now.
Saying that, this form Ukraine are showing isn't good news for us.

The Scots are performing precisely as they did against the Czechs & Croatia in Euro 2020 & are being crucified. Ukraine are handy & we could really do with the Jocks getting into them now, otherwise they are getting a free ride into the final.

Game over, Scotland haven't turned up That’s a factor but it was considered that Ukraine would be unfit and disorganised- they look anything but. Certainly no fitness issues.

Sure, but it's helped Ukraine massively that Scotland have offered absolutely nothing. They've gotten nowhere near them and look like a parks team

Their goalkeeper, Bushchan, is a weak link for sure, I remember him from the Euros. Very erratic under pressure

Ukraine have 64% possession, 4 shots on target to nil, 5 corners to 2, they are not being threatened at all & can probably make some early subs now.

They've gotten nowhere near them and look like a parks team Scotland are now organised like they were against Denmark but they are still comfortably second best. Ukraine are a team that hasn’t played in a competitive capacity for months I should add. I don’t want to criticise because of the war they are obviously going through but on this evidence it for sure looks like it’s not been a level playing field in terms of both teams prep for this game.

One thing to note is that Scotland are playing the same formation as us 3-5-2. Ukraine making mince meat out of them by playing 4-3-3/4-5-1. With their front 3 going 1v1 against their back 3
Maybe we're better at the system than the Scots or maybe our players have a better understanding - but it's something to be wary of. They've likely been practising against our specific system given they knew we and Scotland both play it
Basically think that Connor/Neco and our CMs will have to be very disciplined on Sunday
