I think a big part of the issue though is nobody is stepping forward. Kieffer Moore does, in about 3 years he's nearly on our all time top 10 goalscorers, he's always the one to get dropped in attack too. I'd say Rodon, Neco, Roberts, Ampadu have. Wilson should be Ramseys successor but as I've said earlier has never stepped up. James seems like Bale's successor but he's got no end product. Morrell is coming on but isn't a Joe Allen. These lads would be pushing them out of the team if they could. James can't score and Bale is getting us out of jail. Ramsey will have a 1 in 5 match where he is the star of the show, someone's had all of the qualifiers to push him out of the first team and failed. Kieffer will play for us and be effective until he's 34, maybe 36. We've all been saying it on here for ages but central midfield is a massive issue for us in terms of depth, we've just got to hope that Savage turns out to be something special. Said for a while, post-WC we need to cast the net high and wide for central midfielders would be my plan of attack. From young lads to older lads we wouldn't normally consider. Ampadu is a mainstay Allen getting on probably won't feature for us after this world cup Morrell unless we get better players coming through, he's not going anywhere. Tenacious but lacks that quality on the ball to progress the ball forward. Levitt/Smith - jury is still out. Don't think they'll reach the heights we all envisaged but happy to be proven wrong. |

good thing about our sucess is the net has been casted wider,would like more players coming through ,most of our bright young things haven't really produced,which is a concern,or maybe we are being spoilt,but we have stepped up a tier now so have to contain it

Just listened to Page's comments and it's pretty clear we'll be playing 3 at the back. Assuming Moore, Ramsey and Bale all start, it's a hard lineup to predict. Maybe just a straight swap of Moore for James?
Allen has apparently passed his fitness test but I'm sceptical he'll go straight into the lineup.

I’ve seen a few people go to a back 4 (I agree, it could pay off) but a lot have Rodon Davies cb partnership, I fear this would be underestimating Iran… if it’s a back 4 I’d stick with Mepham Rodon CB, Davies LB and either Connor or Neco RB. No point trying to fit everyone in. |

There's one big concern that I have, how are we going to score? We seem to be a side very reliant on set pieces for goals and it worries me a bit.

So he has to be risked today. |

I think we need to ignore the England result. Saudi Arabia beating Argentina, Japan beating Germany, I think these teams who have to play in the Asian confederation might be more climitised to this. Friday could be a really difficult match for us. and the problem is that bale and ramsey will certainly struggle even more after having just 3.5 days of rest and playing in the heat time!! |

Wilson,Ramsey and Bale were all blowing out their backsides fir 60/70 mins and the game passed them by. I’d swap Wilson for morell to get some energy into the team. |

There's 10 players there playing in the Premier League or Serie A there's good pedigree, we're more than just 2 players there's 26 good lads in that squad. That team can press better as unit and generally run more. |

Won the penalty and scored against USA, officially a goal against Ukraine, 2 against Austria. It is a bit bizarre that its like playing with 10 men but there's a 50/50 chance you'll get a goal from him. And again how anyone can look at Bale and Ramsey and think they don't deserve to start but Wilson does is quite strange. |
