It felt like we were far too casual, always looking for the Hollywood ball when we needed care and precision to at least get the one goal we needed to at least stand a chance of winning the match. |

We don't deserve anything from the two performances, we have been simply awful, we didn't string two passes together which has been an issue for me for a long long time.

Didn't Morrell start every single game at the euros?
Now he's behind half fit players in the pecking order.
Think we're back in the 2004 period now. Got three tournaments out of these guys but that's the limit.

Embarrassing, shambolic To be fair though dai at least we qualified. Got further than Italy did in fact. The Euros is a different beast because qualifying is far easier. We got results against Belgium, the Czechs, Austria, Ukraine. Being there is no fluke, we’ve just ended up carrying our best players at the end. One thing is for sure though if Page had dropped Bale and Ramsey for the tournament there would have been a massive out cry on here. |

Embarrassing. We deserved to lose that game. Should have lost by more tbh. Felt like men against boys out there. I’ve never seen our players take such bad first touches so frequently. Constantly gave the ball away with under-hit or sloppy passes. Zero quality in the final third. Out muscled and second to every loose ball. Really let ourselves down today, no excuses. Congratulations to Iran, by far the better team and wanted it more. I think the most disappointing thing for me is that the last two Euros we were in we had that passion, belief and spirit. We really stepped our level up for them and did the nation proud. Same in the WC qualifying campaign as well. In this World Cup so far, all I have seen is a team that is just happy to be there and the occasion has got the better of them  |

Am I right in thinking this is the (unlikely) results needed to qualify now?
- England beat USA (ideally by a few goals and a clean sheet)
- USA narrowly beat Iran (1-0)
- We beat England by a f ew goals
England 9
Wales - 4
USA - 4
Iran - 3
Either we or USA qualify depending on goals scored (points same, goal difference in our match the same, so goals scored is tie breaker)?

Can't remember any game where we have looked balanced where both Rambo and Wilson start. I don't think both can fit in our system / without two of Allen, Ampadu or Morrell playing behind them.

Holding on for a draw like we had any chance of getting a result against England based on out form lost 7 drawn 2 in the last 9 😂. Not bothered about the goals conceded. Awful in possession needed goals.

Fair play to Page got us to a World Cup but he's got to wise the fuck up. He needs to make tougher decisions and stick his neck on the line.
No manager has ever got to the top of the game without upsetting people.

It had shades of Denmark with all the inaccuracies in our play and when you think back to some of the play in the qualifiers we just don’t play like this, like a bunch of strangers. |

GD with Iran is the same so formula is actually pretty simple. Beat England and as long as US don't win either game that will be enough. Of course little problem is 0.000001% chance of beating England based on the first two games! Can't say I'm that bothered. Team limit is group stage of WC and it would be another Denmark type trashing in last 16 v probably Holland. |

Roy Keane always accused Ireland of not taking tournaments seriously and just having a happy to be there vibe. Appears the Wales camp fell into same mode. Total lack of care on the ball, and the players didn’t seem happy to be there. Just scared and frozen on the ball. Wonder what they’re doing in training as FAW photos on Instagram it seems more of a stag do vibe minus the alcohol. Feel bad for the fans who paid thousands to see that and and in a country which doesn’t seem to offer much for entertainment or interest outside the games.

we didn't deserve a thing out of the match tonight. I was hoping after that 2nd half on Monday we would learn from our mistakes & not piss around passing the ball at the back. we were totally toothless in midfield and up front. it's sad to think this is the end now for multiple players, you can just see it.
well, we made it to the world cup. yes we are feeling the heartache now for this loss, but I reckon the heartache we would have felt had we not reached the world cup would have been much worse.

I would give chances to Johnson, Colwill, J Williams, Levitt, Harris against England.
We’re out, give the younger players experience and opportunities.

Two games and we’ve been unable to complete simple passes or deliver accurate crosses. Ramsey isn’t the player he was but he tries things - the real difficulty is we can’t carry three or four players who are off the pace and contribute little. We basically kept Bale on for the whole game in the hope we’d get a free kick.
We really need a functioning midfield which means fit players. Quality is nothing if you can’t cover the ground. Iran were sharp, passed accurately, and were usually first to second balls and lose passes.
We had two chances of note and Iran had a hatful. We were well beaten. I’m not worried about this tournament, but unless Page makes some tough choices the next set of qualifiers could be horrendous.

After this World Cup we need a serious look at tactics, personnel etc.
Get a system in place and stick to it. Bring the right personnel for the system. The whole tournament very much square peg round holes trying to fit players in. Joe Morrell playing League One football is still a better central midfield option than playing an out of position premier league player in Harry Wilson.

No Iran player was near him so he could've controlled it. Or just did what Ramsey did all game and booted the ball long. Just clearing it to Iran play 5 yards away continually and you run the risk of one of them eventually shooting it in from 20 + yards, the one that hit the post earlier was the warning. |
