www.faw.cymru/en/news/new-cymru-era-euro-2024-qualifying-begins/Reading between the lines of this article "But for Cymru, retirements will lead to new opportunities, and Page is expected to include a number of new faces in his squad for the double-header at the end of the month to compliment the experience that remains available for selection. While qualification for EURO 2024 will be the primary focus for Page, he will also be keen to expose his new additions to as much senior international football as possible ahead of the next World Cup in 2026" Fully expect to see young lads involved. Think Bradshaw the likely exception to this given his form this season.

Any idea if Luke Harris will be called up?? Considering that he would have gone to the World Cup as back up had he not chosen to go home (I still find this weird) you'd think that he must be in Page's head seeing as since then he's actually played for Fulham.

Any idea if Luke Harris will be called up?? I would imagine he will be I'd be surprised if Jordan James, Luke Harris & Oli Cooper don't make it (fitness permitting of course)

Sounds like Brennan’s out, courtesy of DS’s sources. Honestly may as well call Chem up. See if he accepts. Nothing to lose, can’t think of many other options in an attacking mould.
We truly are cursed injuries-wise.

There's no point denying it, losing Brennan is a massive blow. He's by far our main goal threat now, and would have been the ideal player to have out in Croatia. Gutted. We may see an old-fashioned Moore-Bradshaw/Mullin little and large combo after all! Feels miles away from the attacking options we had just 12 months ago.

This sounds ridiculous but the Paul Mullin Hollywood script might be about to get a bit crazier. I can just see him getting a shot away and scoring a point saving equaliser.

I chop our chances of a result in half without Brennan. We're really struggling out wide at the moment, and I think we'd have to play one of Wilson/DJ on the right instead. In fact I would prefer a return to the 3-5-2 if Brennan is out...
Ward Mepham-Lockyer-Hughes Connor-Ampadu-Morrell-Davies Ramsey Bradshaw-Moore
It's much more likely to be Lockyer than Hughes, but I personally would like to see a left footer there. Ed Turns would be a wildcard shout that I would love to see in the seniors after good form on his loan move. The rest of that team are playing regular football aside from Kieffer (Mepham is in and out too, but played plenty this season)

Brennan out just sums up our fortunes. Bale, Allen and Jonny gone (all would be in squad if not retired), a number of injuries (Terry Taylor, Levitt, Johnson) who all would probably be squad members.
We're probably going to field a team of PL players who hardly play, and average players (who I do rate, but are average unfortunately) from the Championship and League 1.
Throw in Page, who is still imo tactically poor, as well as an unfamiliar squad, this is going to be a VERY tough start to the campaign.
I predict a repeat of the WC performances against Croatia.

Like dai, I fear for the Croatia game - somehow or other the 'vibe' for us is not great right now - and (fingers crossed) a valuable point out in Split would be unexpected and most welcome!
It's the Latvia game at home that we must target for a compulsory 3 points.

When is the squad getting announced? I've read some unofficial reports of 12pm, but there's nothing on the FAW website and social media pages!

As expected.
No Aaron Collins is a massive oversight though, how can you NOT chose him and chose Broadhead?
Mullin also debatable.
Guessing it was too soon for Brooks?
Expect Johnson to pull out due to injury.

Broadhead’s superb, I’d have him over Collins. Though I’d expect Collins to be called up for Brennan.
Chem Campbell clearly not interested (as ever) if not in the u21s. Guess we’ll see later today.

Also, no Hedges? Can play WB or WF. Why is a ch'ship regular being snubbed instead of a LG1 counterpart like Burns?

Here it is:

Very happy with that. Aaron Collins is the only one who can potentially feel a little aggrieved. I think Bradshaw has earned it more than Collins, although we probably should have taken both. I guess Wes Burns is the Gunter replacement. From my understanding, he's not had as good a season as he had last year, so I would have been tempted to cast an eye over someone else like Poole. But can't complain with that, they were always going to be marginal calls.

He's been a ch'ship regular by definition over the course of the season.

The headline should be that Brennan's in there. Surely that must mean he's fit? There's been enough time now for any scan results to come through and fitness checks to take place. If he is fit, that is is going to be a far greater bearing on our chances than a Nathan Broadhead v Aaron Collins marginal call.

He's been a ch'ship regular by definition over the course of the season. He hasn't started a League game since January 21st - that's almost two months ago. He was a Championship regular, was clearly deemed not quite good enough hence his club going for Sorba as his replacement in the Jan transfer window and Sorba starting over him in every league game ever since.

Gk:x3
RB/RWB: x3 (plus Ampadu) RCB:x2 (plus Ampadu) CCB:x2 (plus Ampadu) LCB:x1 (umm, plus Ampadu) LB/LWB:x1 (plus Neco)
CM:x3 (plus Ramsey)
RF:x4 (plus Burns) ACM:x2 LF:X2
CF:x2
If Brennan does need to pull out, would you call up next best player, try to fast-track a LB/LCB as positions needing depth or call up David Brooks to give camp a bit of a boost?
I would infer that we're likely to stick with same formation from world cup but maybe different personal.
Really pleased for Bradshaw and Broadhead, and Sobra who took a risk in mid season move and is now part of the conversation again in genuine way.

I don't think we'll see wholesale changes other than maybe in attack. If I'm putting my Rob Page cap on and with all the interviews about drip feeding players in I reckon it would look like (not my selection if I were gaffer) GK: Hennessey, Ward, Davies (3) CB: Mepham, Cabango, Lockyer, Rodon (4) FB/WB: Davies, Roberts, Neco, Burns (4) CENTRAL MIDS: Ampadu, Morrell, Jordan James, Vaulks, Smith (5) ATTACKING/WIDE MIDS: Ramsey, Cooper, Dan James, Wilson, Colwill, Sorba Thomas (6) STRIKERS: Johnson, Moore, Bradshaw, Broadhead (4) Wasn't far off!!

Couple of months ago I'd have said he was on his way out of the squad. Clearly, loan deals do sometimes work.

Squad selection does not mean you make it, it has happened on several occasions were a player has withdrawn after squad is published. Its the nature of International Football I am sure Rob Page will update the media in a bit Squad meet up Sunday Club are still to confirm in the public domain extent of injury and recovery time

If Hedges sticks his hand up to play LWB and does well then he's right in conversation, but I think he's down the depth list for RWB or right-sided attacking players.
Aaron Collins maybe a little bit unlucky? Think his ability to play left-sided forward, attacking midfielder and occasional forward must have put him in the conversation. Maybe him going off boil recently, with wider Rovers' struggle, or that he's only been firing for half a season at league one level and needs to keep doing it going against him.
