Struggling to be excited about that squad to be honest. I am not particularly pining after either player but are Matondo and free scoring T. Roberts injured? Just re read the squad, is my favourite player Joe Morrell injured? Sorry if these are basic questions, not been paying a lot of interest lately Roberts is injured but Matondo is for and available, just not selected. Morrell is fit and in the squad. |

I know we've had a couple of concerned, cryptic messages from ds, but everything else is quite positive about Brennan Johnson. Steve Cooper's stated that he's already had the scan and in contention (albeit doubtful) for their game on Friday, so he should definitely be available for us. He may have progressed better in the last day or two than what ds's sources feared? Either way, this is great news!

Sorry to say if Brennan does not play for Forest on Friday he will not be joining up with national side. i cannot remember a player who did not play for their club side through injury the game before an international break joining up with national side.
Forest medical team will want to keep in under observation the only hope is that Cooper has previous at Forest with ruling players out then naming them on the team sheet.

It happens all the time. Fact is, he has 2 days to recover for the Forest game on Friday, and 10 days to recover for our game a week to Friday. So if it's a marginal call for Friday night, I see no justification for the club saying he can't join up with the Welsh camp. Brennan seems to be really proud of representing his country, so I'm sure he'll have something to say about it too. Page seems confident as well.

Wouldโve liked Fox or Hughes in the squad as left footed CB, giving Ben a chance to play LWB, suppose Lockyer can come in but the balance is a bit off

sources still saying same timeframe this morning - did not train yesterday (thats reported online)

but it can take a bit longer than a week to recover
good shout by Leigh James on twitter - he may be fit enough just about to face Latvia at home !
It's been done before with other players
Cross fingers he can recover in time - Wales train every day next week (Mon-Fri) then out to Split Friday afternoon

Forest have total control over Brennans release if he does not play on Friday all they have to do is refuse his release.
Nothing Page can do about it or the player he would only be allowed to go if given clearance by Forest.

This isnโt correct, Wales can insist on him being examined by our medical team and if they declare him fit then he can join up. Not very good for club/country relations but technically they could. |

Interesting read that, shows how much power international sides do actually hold. So yeah, if Brennan is fit he will be involved in our double header irrespective of whether he plays for Forrest this Friday. |

Edit - No they're not! My mate, who supports Ipswich, text me yesterday saying that he was fuming with Wales, I've just checked and it's been postponed

Rambo in front of Morrell & Ampadu but that's semantics I guess. Looking forward to the campaign, a new squad, new captain, new era. A great tournament to try and qualify for. If we donโt have too many injuries then we have a chance of qualifying, but results wonโt be easy to come by, especially after losing a world class goal threat in Gareth Bale. Good luck Rob Page and the rest!

Lockyer hasn't played on the left of the back three for us, even though we have been short of left-footers to play there at times, so unfortunately that isn't an option if we wanted Ben at LWB.
