Decent price direct flights from Leeds for any Northerners. Yeah we booked a few months ago now but think we did: Manchester to Riga - 9th Sept which was around £100ish Riga to Leeds Bradford - 12th Sept which was about £30 at the time.

It's about £150 return from Leeds, whereas Stansted has gone up from £159 to £250 in the last few days. All direct flights.

Looks like the Ryan Air direct flight from Bristol is now £200 one way... Ryan Air from East Mids to Riga on Sunday afternoon is still only £70 - get into Riga 8pm, 24h before the match.

Just looked at the info for the stadium in Latvia. It only has a capacity of about 10k.Anyone know how much of an allocation they've given to away fans for previous games that have been held there?

Just tried to book flights and quite shocked at the prices. I was naively expecting a cheap return for this one but already looking at 250 plus if want to go direct.
Is it worth waiting for more flights to come available? Or is this the best it's going to get?

Typical allocation is 5%
Sometimes we get more if locals not interested

Hearts played Riga FC in the Europa league last year and were given around 2,000. Hopefully FAW can negotiate a similair amount.

Another option could be RA SUNDAY 10/09/23 15:30 East Midla EMA 20:05 Riga RIX for £68 Back THURSDAY 14/09/23 21:15 Riga RIX 22:05 East Midla EMA £48 (earlier returns are still over £100 - but they will surely drop in price ...)

Just been informed this match will be played at the Skonto stadium which has a capacity of 9,500.They tend to give 10 - 12% allocation for sides with a decent travelling away support.

We have a family friend who works out in Riga a few months of the year. I asked him to do some diggiging but I also received this as I sent my initial enquiry to the Dauguva Stadion info email :
have forwarded your e-mail to the person who responsible for the ticketing for the match between Latvia - Wales. Someone from the Latvian Football federation will contact you. The match will take place at Skonto stadium. Regards, Ar cieņu,

I’ve not traveled away to qualifiers years and was looking to start going to away matches after retiring, this was one of the games I was targeting but I think I’m now going to pass up on this. According to Wikipedia and a few other sites, the ground only has 8,087 seats which will mean the FAW will have between 800 and 960 tickets and I’m highly unlikely to get a ticket.

Yes unfortunately I think if get 1000 tickers, unless you have at least 2 aways you have no chance. I'm on 4 but think it's about 50/50 whether I get one. You should get one for Turkey or Armenia with 0 aways though. Turkey flights are surprisingly reasonable IMO (£300ish return)

There will be loads going without tickets major, I might not get one but I am still going, it's about the crack with fellow wales fans and the chance to see a city you probably wouldn't go to, there were loads of ticketless fans in split, it all adds to the atmosphere mate.

Looks like a decent stadium with no running track and a nice roof - so we can get a great atmosphere going. Going to have to learn a few new Paul Mullin songs l-)) Looking forward to it!

It didn’t help that the FAW didn’t send the right number of codes through either, but that’s another story. Don’t fancy Türkiye, but I do fancy Armenia but the logistics are looking tricky.

When Hearts played Riga FC at the Skonto stadium last year, they were given 450 tickets initially,it was then increased up to 950 (priced at €10) and were given a further smaller amount later on including VIP seats. So hopefully we'll be offered at least 1,000.

Tournament matches don’t count as aways. They aren’t sold by the FAW so they don’t have individual records of who was there.

I have never been to Turkey before, so I shall reserve my judgement ... Been three times to Armenia and adore the place! Best food on the planet and really wonderfully humble / friendly and genuinely nice people. Maybe simiar to what the Georgians used to be in the 90s ;-)

Pegasus are also worth having a look at?
Coming back in time for the Turkey game at home is a little more tricky ... And Pegasus Yerevan to Mancs (very early on the Sunday morning) for £200 looks like a decent option ... The other 3-leg flight option is Dept Yerevan 11pm Monday with 5 hours over-night in Rome airport - Barcelona - to Bristol and that will be £120 ...

Thanks for that mate but he will (hopefully) be in college and will already be missing 3 days. And btw he has NEVER felt english, he has had two good influences in his life, his dad (of course) and Gareth Bale 😉
