Morrell dropped for an unfit Levitt it would seem. Strange, particularly as Page included Morrell last camp when there was no real point to it.

Levitt is back now is imagine the same will apply, where he'll be given time before croatia |

Good to see a few more youngsters involved, however Levitt hasn't played a single minute for Hibs on their last 4 fixtures. Lee Evans has been getting gametime in the championship ffs, surely should be ahead of players like that?

Really? 3(?) regular top flight players with all of them in the bottom half, no goalkeepers playing regular football and a good chunk of players who are either struggling to get Championship minutes, playing Scottish football or are playing in League One. I'm not saying it's THE worst squad we've ever put out as I know some of these players work very well together, but on paper I'm struggling to think of one worse. If we get anything against Croatia it'll have to go down as one of our best results ever. |

Agree - Croatia is looking like an increasingly difficult challenge. Just hope they're exhausted after their game against the Turks a few nights before, and that they 'travel poorly'!
Assuming they beat the Turks, any result for us vs Croatia involving us keeping a clean sheet would be wonderful!

I'm not trying to be too negative about it (though it definitely comes across that way when you're calling the squad the worse in a while), we've always suited being underdogs. I can't make the game (DM if you need a ticket!) but will be casting a keen eye over the match from home. Hope we can get a point at least to show the world we still mean business despite our lack of star power.
Going to the Gibraltar friendly. Hoping the kids amd fringe players put on a good display.

I actually agree with erasedcitizen that this is the weakest squad I can remember (on paper) - but that's only half the battle, it's still good enough to make a fight of it as long as we're set up adequately. I can't see how anyone can have complaints over the selection decisions (with Morrell's ban in mind). Good to see Poole called up. It's a shame that we've taken a couple of key players away from the u21 squad, although it makes sense given the issues in midfield and with Neco's fitness concerns at LWB. |

Although at least we're calling them away to give them caps, it would be pointless to do so for them to sit on the bench - it might be that Harris, Savage & Beck move back down to the U21s after the Gibraltar game? We've got plenty of players to be able to do that Might be useful to have Beck as an alternative LWB on the bench, but Harris & Savage I can't see getting near the pitch vs Croatia |

Then other lower league players like Sheehan and Savage. There is a reason they are currently playing in league one. How long will this poor spell continue and how do we once again manage to lose our two best players? FFS we are cursed! Basically, we are relying on Dan James to do something special. |

Yeah our striking options are mostly Championship level, that's not a change. That's been true all throughout our sustained period of success. Hal, Vokes, Moore yes they had spells in the top flight but they are mostly Championship players. Broadhead, Cullen maybe they will have spells in the PL one day? Broadhead could be there next season at this rate! It's not as if our striking options are massively worse in terms of level of where they have been Savage is a young player who is doing well in League One, Sheehan also doing well at that level, given our CM options what else would you suggest? |

I don't get this, what are you complaining about exactly? That we're relying on some very mediocre players? Well yeah, but there's not much we can do about that, is there? I'd much prefer to have a player keeper like Owen Evans in for Davies as that feels like genuine competition. As it is we are just picking from a series of number 2s, so no one is going to displace Ward Hennessey is excused for being a 2 at his age and after his career. But the other two have no excuses and shouldn't be assured of their places for that reason |

I don't disagree but since Ward is almost certainly going to play against Croatia it probably makes sense to play him against Gibraltar just to get him slightly more match fit. Saying that though, I doubt whoever plays will have much to do. |
