Any news on Armenia players? We seem to lose a star player or two for every round of matches. They have 2 significant talents in particular I guess? Are they on track to face us?
In case anyone hadn't spotted it, kick off is at 2pm.
Ranos as mentioned above has barely played this season, just 15 mins senior football Zelaryan who had a really good game against us joined a Saudi club in the summer and has 3 goals 4 assists in 12 games there. Decent but not mind-blowing Uwu was the centre-mid who really impressed me back in June, and he moved to Rubin Kazan in the summer, so a move upwards for him and seems to be playing regularly there Overall we shouldn't be daunted by what they've got. As I've said before it was a big over-performance in front of goal against us, and an under-performance from us in attack and defence. With JJ in the team I think we'll have much more control over the game and they will look a lot less threatening

They lost to Latvia. We need to be professional, clinical and get the job done. No big gaps left anywhere for them to exploit, no letting them getting a passing game going, pressurise them because, as they showed in the opening minutes in Cardiff, they're really not that good.

Really tough call with the selection given we need to win both games, and will be playing Turkey 3 days later. At present I'd go for... Ward Mepham-Rodon-Davies Connor-JJ-Ampadu-Neco Brennan-DJ Moore With Brooks & Wilson ready to come on at HT if we're not playing well. As it is, I'm feeling quite optimistic for this game, as I believe JJ will make all the difference and prevent Armenia playing through us like the home game. They also really over-performed their xG in the home game & don't think they will get that lucky again I think this game will be somewhat reminiscent of the Azerbaijan game before we beat Hungary in 2019. A 2-0 win with Kieffer & Brennan getting the goals Yeah I remember at the time thinking even though we were dreadful, everything that they touched became a goal. Which was ridiculous. After beating a team like Croatia we really should be winning this. We always seem to turn it up a notch at the business end of campaigns when we know exactly what we need to do. Armenia losing to Latvia suggests they've fallen the other way.

We are 10/11 with Sky Bet to win. 2/9 to avoid defeat.
C’mon CYMRU! 🏴

I see Ben Davies is rated doubtful for the Spurs game tomorrow. Postecoglou will be screaming if he's out and then goes on international duty. I'm half expecting Brennan Johnson to go down with a severe case of split ends. Going to be a very nervous weekend coming up I think, I'll probably be more anxious than I'll be next weekend.

As long as Spurs get back to winning ways we'll be alright, if they start faltering we could have a problem on our hands

We have to win in Armenia, which is by no means a given. So we have to start with our strongest lineup, which very probably means Wilson and Brooks. Hopefully we can build a 2 goal lead, which would allow us to bring on James and Johnson sooner rather than later. Chances are it will be tighter than that, so we will probably need Wilson and Brooks to play for an hour, and Moore for longer. After last time we can't take anything for granted. Have to win the first must win to get to the second, therefore we have to play the strongest XI. If we dont get the result in Armenia the Turkey game doesn't matter. Get ahead nice and early kill the game, then ring the changes.

Agree with the above who say we have to focus on winning in Armenia and not rest players for the last game.
I would start with the team who did so well against Croatia.
Ward Connor Mepham Rodon Davies Neco J.James Ethan Brooks Wilson Kieffer
Compared to the last games we've got 1 or 2 more of those playing for their clubs, even if the front three are not playing regularly since the last window. Hopefully we can score a couple before 60 minutes with the luxury of bringing DJ and Brennan on at that point. Hoping for a comfortable 3-1 to Cymru, more than happy to settle for a scrappy 1-0 when we don't play as well as last time

Sorry, but Dan James starts, he’s in the form of his life & is the chief supplier for Kieffer. Hopefully we can take the pair of them off around 70 mins if we’re 2-0 up. I could almost guarantee that they’ll both be involved in any goalscoring we do.
Having said all that, I will happily settle for two 1-0 wins, no matter how they come about.

I think that most of all were surprised / disappointed that DJ didn't start vs Croatia. But it turned out to be a really strong system that we found we had. I'd agree that DJ is the hardest one to leave out of that winning team.
The advantage that having the South Korea and Gibraltar games as our first games in the last two windows, was to give game time to those who hadn't been playing for their clubs. Wonder what Page will be thinking this time when we don't have such a warm up game. Ward, Neco and Kieffer are still in that position, Connor too arguably this time, and I wonder whether Dai Brooks is being managed back. Possibly one benefit that having DJ in the team brings is a little more protection for Neco.
Page has a tricky decision to make again with almost the full squad to pick from.

I too would probably go with James over Brooks. Dan assisted the second v Croatia too, which just about edges it for me. You are totally right though, James & Moore thrive off one another.

For me its: Ward Connor Mepham Rodon Davies Neco J.James Ethan Wilson D. James Kieffer
with Johnson and Brooks making an impact (hopefully not needed) from the bench. What is the current potential suspensions looking like... who needs to be careful not to pick up a yellow on saturday?

You always have to consider opposition and the gap in between games. For this reason I do think starting DJ would be a good idea. Sometimes you just need one good delivery from out wide against a team that sits back more
Croatia had more of the ball so we needed two 10s that could cover the middle of the park but I do think this is less imperative against Armenia
It's great to have the luxury of choosing between DJ, Wilson, Brooks & Brennan. I think you could pick any two out of 4 and the fans wouldn't complain

In light of the lack of game time Brooks has been getting and James being on form I would go for a James Wilson pairing. But I won't be complaining whatever Page chooses to go with.
