I find their managers quote about being aggressive quite laughable, I clearly remember them diving and rolling about the last time we played them.
That's what worries me most not that they are apparently a class above us.
If the boys give everything (not doubting that) and the ref is fair then I see us winning as the crowd will give our boys another 10%.

I have been one of his biggest critics but I really hope Page achieves another qualification. For our tiny nation to have reached 4 tournaments in 8 years under the guidance of 3 different managers, hopefully including one without our icon and arguably best player of all time, after the hell many of us old ones (I am 52 now) went through would be quite remarkable. It feels like we will, I just hope we at least do ourselves justice, which I do believe would be enough. Whatever will be will be!

Match facts
* Wales and Poland have faced each other on 10 previous occasions. Wales' only victory came in their first meeting back in March 1973, losing seven and drawing two of their nine subsequent meetings.
* Wales have lost each of their past six games against Poland (all played between 2001 and 2022); the only other non-British nation they've had a longer losing run against is the Netherlands, with 10 straight defeats between 1988 and 2022.
* Poland have won each of their past three away games against Wales, all of which have been in competitive action (2-1 in 2001, 3-2 in 2004 and 1-0 in 2022). Indeed, the only other European sides they've had a longer winning streak away from home against are San Marino (five) and Finland (two runs of four).
* Following their 4-1 victory over Finland, Wales stretched their unbeaten run to seven matches (four wins, three draws); only once have they recorded a longer streak without defeat under Robert Page (nine games between September 2021 and March 2022 - four wins, five draws).
* Wales are looking to qualify for a third consecutive European Championships, having previously appeared in the 2016 and 2020 editions. In Euro qualifiers played at Cardiff City Stadium, Wales have only lost one of their past 15 (10 wins, four draws).
* Since the start of 2023, Poland have lost three of their four Euro qualifier matches played away from home, losing to the Czech Republic, Moldova and Albania in that time. They did win their most recent one, however, away to the Faroe Islands back in October (2-0).
* Harry Wilson has been directly involved in six goals in nine appearances in the Euro 2024 qualifying campaign (three goals, three assists), the most of any player for Wales. The Fulham midfielder has assisted a goal in each of his past two outings, while his 16 chances created are also the most of any player for the Dragons in this qualifying campaign.
* Robert Lewandowski has been directly involved in 24 goals in his past 27 appearances for Poland (16 goals, eight assists), although he has not scored in any of his three games against Wales to date.
Hopefully, the last fact will remain in situ after tonight's game along with no direct involvement in any goals or any goals full stop!

Thanks for that. The only stat that worries me is the one about Lewandowski - I'd perhaps foolishly bought into the notion his legs were gone based on recent games against us but those stats suggest he is still a consistently influential player for them.

Interesting observation from dragonsoccer re: Italian ref being the ref at the final Polish game of the group last year. They played Czech Rep at home (who were guaranteed second place finish already). Only 2 yellow cards, 1 each. Ended 1-1.

Looks like Davies, Levitt and Colwill will miss out on the 23 man squad. Hardly the biggest issue but surprised King is seemingly ahead of Davies for the third goalkeeper spot. Davies has played most of his career at Championship level with a handful of Wales appearances whilst King has mostly been a League 2 level keeper with 0 Wales appearances. Also slightly surprised by Savage over Levitt given the fact that Levitt has more international experience but can understand we might see Savage as having more potential. Neither a big deal though, doubt either will get near the pitch.

This time, last year, we were flying back from gorgeous Split, after a superbly resilient performance. Year before that, we beat Austria. I can't remember the last time we lost in March. Perhaps 0-1 to Uruguay in China Cup, 2018? 0-1 to Ukraine in friendly in Kiev, 2015?

Johnson, Moore, Wilson up front, otherwise as expected. Expected lineup for Poland including Frankowski.
I wonder how we will deploy Wilson and Johnson, perhaps wider than usual, to get deliveries in the box for Moore? Bit surprised Page hasn't paired James with Moore.

Page will either go down as being the greatest Welsh manager ever, or he's getting sacked in the morning

Given Poland play a 3-5-2 there is a danger they will push on the middle 5 giving them a numerical overload against our 4 in front of the back three. So perhaps starting with Moore is a counter to this, so we can evade the high press, by hitting it long. We could end up 3 vs 3 if Poland aren't careful. This could be a smart move by Page. Moore needs to be careful with his elbows.
