More fun before Wonky came along? Really? I doubt an extra 200 people who probably would've made their own way if Wonky didn't exist makes any real difference. Also I didn't find the San Siro any fun in 2003! I think you'll find Wales doing well in Euro 2016 upped the Wales away numbers. Yes, that's what I said.... You picked one game. I am talking about Moldova 93 (heard amazing stories). Macedonia was 300 people there, great. Wales away was the best kept secret. Sadly it isn't now. I liken it to liking Taylor Swift/Oasis before they became mainstream. Still good, but probably better vibes before, but will never go back to how it was. The atmospheres were better before with smaller away fans. They just seem different now, suppose thats how these things go. But no-one should get credited the ticket points for not attending the game, unless done for everyone. This seems a bit daft to effectively dislike the fact we have had a successful 10 years. I have done many trips with 300 that were great and many trips with 3000 that were great. I think it’s fantastic to see so many younger fans jumping on as when old gits like me are ready to call it a day then they will be going for years to come. Atmosphere in split was one of the best for several years. The atmosphere on Monday evening was very subdued with 700 fans, same with Osijek and Budapest a few years ago. I feel nostalgia may be playing tricks on you in a similar way to Cardiff fans wanting ninian park back and Swansea fans pining for the vetch field when atmospheres 90% of the time were where you could hear a pin drop

Everywhere is more accessible. I still can't see where wonky gets the blame for this....about as much blame as easyjet and ryanair.

Others would say different and I don't have a problem with that. Nostalgia is not playing tricks. 300 fans where everyone knew everyone is what I would like, it may not ever happen again. Not in my control of course. I dont know many who would want Swansea back at the Vetch. We'd have never been allowed in the Prem, but we aren't talking about club football.

But having a vendetta against Wonky for this issue is ridiculous. Back in the 90s Wales weren't as good as they are now and like I said I think Euro 2016 upped their popularity. Also cheap flights weren't a thing back then, nor things like airbnb. These just make going away cheap and accessible.

I can see both sides of the discussion. Yes we had some great times back in the day with limited numbers (the first trip to Baku stands out for me) and it was probably easier to strike up "friendships" as you kept seeing the same faces. Due to various illnesses I don't travel anymore so I am grateful to the next generation of fans for carrying on the support. It is also good when watching on S4c to see a relatively full away section, it must have looked awful back in the day with 37 fans in Croatia back in 2002. Yes, I enjoyed the "good old days" but would never begrudge the current fans from enjoying their trips. I would rather they spent their money following Wales than buying a season ticket at Liverpool or Man. Utd.

For those that needed to leave on Tuesday, you will be happy to hear that the weather has picked up again and it's been 25-26c last 3 days :+) Sadly, the Burek Index score is very poor :+( Probably straight down to the relegation zone, right after Osijek, Dubrovnik and Split. Even Cyprus and certainly Israel have MUCH better Burek!
Oh, I do miss Belgrade!!

To be fair to Wonky, when they charter the flights the plane either flies from the country empty (unless they can sell the empty legs) and then returns with the fans or vice versa and then the same on the way back, so effectively 4 flights need to be paid for not the standard 2 that are only seen as the end customer, So that will always distort the costs. It is convenience over price that people pay them for. (Ps I dont work for them)
Just trying to offer a balanced view for the model that is operated on the chartered option.
