That’s unfortunate. Was hoping we’d get more. I scrape into stage 1, missus is in stage 2 so hopefully will be ok but was hoping we’d get the full stand. Looks like yet another mission “get home tickets” for us. Latvia and Armenia were relatively easy, hope this one is too.

No doubt there’ll be about 50 people in the rest of the stand, I know they’re under no obligation to give us more than the minimum but you would have thought they’d have cashed in, even at £4.50 a ticket…

Fortunately, we’re flying into Podgorica on the Saturday, which gives us a few days to get to know the score and befriend a few local scallies keen to make some beer money. Not so easy for those heading to Budva or elsewhere on the coast. Historic posts on different forums give conflicting reports on ticket purchases in the home sections. I’ve read some reports saying they just turned up on match-day and bought tickets at the stadium. Others have said that they were refused, if not producing local ID. Maybe the difference between high profile games and others. Hopefully, we’re in the latter category.

That is really disappointing. Hopefully, the FAW could at least maximize the VIP allocation and push for 200-300 £9 tickets.

They probably have been trying to get as many as possible. We usually get good allocations so give them the benefit of doubt

We usually get good allocations so give them the benefit of doubt Given the FAW statement regarding safety arrangements in the ground and the need for an inspection, there must be genuine concerns. I guess giving us a limited number of tickets makes the Montenegrin FA’s safety arrangements easier to manage and justify ?

Just as well I’ve managed to ask a sponsor to help out by the looks of that allocation as do not like my chances with no previous purchases. Good luck to you all and hope to see you all in the game.

Not ideal but home end will be a good option if they never sell out. I have sat in the home end on other occasions with no issues including Croatia in Osijek. The locals even bought us a pint.

What is the link for tickets in the home end, anyway? Previous reports suggest no on-line sales. Supposedly in person only, on sale from match-day morning at the stadium.

Just to add to the uncertainty there's some very large wild fires either side of Podgorica at the moment and another towards the coast. In fact there's fires all over the region and not just on the outskirts of Athens that we're seeing about on the news.

If anyone is flying into TIRANA AIRPORT, note that there is no need to head South into downtown Tirana (€4 bus 30 min). There is a 4X daily DIRECT bus from TIA airport to Shkodër (€10, 2h) at 11:15, 12:45, 17:30, 20:10. www.tirana-airport.com/en/transport-and-directions/15/By-Bus From Shkodër there are 7X daily departures to Podgorica (€10, 2h)
For those arriving at PODGORICA airport note that taxis ARE NOT the only option! Despite most of the internet saying that you must take a taxi, (€17-€20) there actually is a TRAIN STATION called Aerodrom, about 1km away - there are not many trains (about ten a day) so check the timetable - but its only €1.20 and the ride into town takes 7 minutes - just board the train and find the conductor!

ESIM UPDATE
There might be cheaper single-country eSim options for Montenegro, but I had a brilliant experience last year with MANET TRAVEL and their customer service via email was remarkably fast - almost instant! If you use their 39 COUNTRY EUROPE option - it also covers Croatia / Albania / Serbia / Turkey etc!

Following on from manulike’s helpful tips if you’re on o2 and have the o2 Travel Inclusive bolt on for your pay monthly contract (it’s free to add) then you can roam in Montenegro for nothing extra and just use your regular minutes, data etc

TRAIN MONTENEGROPossible day-trip to Kolasin is 80 minutes NE crossing the highest railway bridge in Europe, with some of the most spectacular scenery in Europe ;-) My understanding is that Kolasin is a tiny place, but has loads of hiking oppertunities?
Dept 1000-1116 or 1706-1831 Back from Kolasin at 1749-1913 or 2044-2215
For those that have time and are going to the Coast (Kotor / Budva) you might want to consider the scenic train ride in the other direction - to the coastal port of BAR - possibly getting off one stop before at Sutomore - learningtobreatheabroad.com/stari-bar-in-montenegro/
There are onward buses from Bar / Sutomore to Budva and Kotor every 30 minutes for circa €5
