Me and my son are in the Wyndham too. Hope there's enough tickets for everyone that needs one. A bit of an arse ache going all that way and not getting in. Wyndham booked here too. It’s going to be a sad venue, if we don’t all get tickets. If Mr Health and Safety from the FAW is also staying there, I hope he can explain how, if the adjacent Turkish section is full, ours is restricted ? They’ve got better balance, parachutes or superior lungs ? I’d love to see the risk assessment. “Safety Concerns” as a statement is totally meaningless. Tell us what these concerns are, that don’t apparently impact Turkish fans. I’ve done many risk assessments for major public events. The “expertise” lies in ensuring it happens safely, not in shutting it down, or restricting access. Does it need more stewards, a gap in the rows, close them off ? Cutting our potential ticket allocation so severely is a total cop-out, which makes the “Together Stronger” line a complete nonsense. To be honest it wasn't great in Samsun but that was mainly access for a mate on crutches. Lets be honest if they applied the same criteria to that stadium in Rotterdam I'd expect them to completely refuse any allocation - if their being consistent. That was a proper death trap from top to bottom.

Well has it occurred to you that at kayseri it must be pretty bad to limit our allocation to 1k? 🤔 Don’t blame the FAW. Better than having extra tickets and somebody gets injured. I may have missed it, please point it out if I have ? But what are the specific safety concerns leading to the significantly reduced ticket numbers ? If a ground is deemed to have inherent safety concerns, I’d probably like to know exactly what they are, before I attend. If it’s a straightforward regulatory or design code non-compliance, such as insufficient numbers of emergency exits, calculated against capacity, there’s no argument. If the rake of the stand (or sections of the stand) is too steep and exceeds allowed angles (35 degrees, I think for new stadium seating in the UK) less for standing, explain it. If it’s the second example given above, reducing the capacity may mitigate the hazard to some extent, but doesn’t completely eliminate it. As I said initially, I don’t recall seeing a specific reason being given. I would go as far as expecting the risk assessment summary to be shared with us. It is our safety under consideration. Edit Seen since, that amongst other things, it’s the rake of the stand, lack of sectional dividing barriers, along with the perspex screen at the front of the terrace, assumed to mean that nobody would want to sit there. Also the assumption fans will not sit in their seats. Personally, after travelling all the way there, I’d rather be in the away end, watching through a Perspex screen than be stuck outside, or in the home end.

A HEADS UP - IF YOU CAN NOT CART A TICKET IN STAGE ONE
If anyone else has had issues in the past with AWAY TICKETS ... especially with the TIMER STARTING AT 1:59 and counting down, but you can not actually see an option to Cart / Purchase after you have successfully clicked on your desired cat...
Well ... It apears to be a SCREEN RESOLUTION problem!
This has happened to me 4-5 times on Away trips before, and each time I just emailed the Ticket office with screen shots of the 1:59 Timer and then Matthew just carted a ticket for me, which then appeared under "Notifications" and I could go on and pay for it online.
I tried this on FireFox, Chrome and even on my Android phone, but I could not see the option of "Select Your Price Class" and hence I could never actually cart and pay for the tickets. I have always assumed that the fault was the 1:59 Timer, but when I changed the screen resolution AND after clicking on the plus +1 the Timer went to 14:59 and I could check out as normal.
Hope this is helpful for someone and can someone on Twitter please tweet / retweet this ;-)

I had exactly the same problem yesterday when I eventually got in. Although initially I couldn’t get past the verification Captcha stage for ages, it just froze after accepting the verification. What settings did you change to ? As in your case, Matthew came to my rescue.

Still 300 tickets left and open to no aways. Maybe the FAW need to promote the ski-resort nearby, if not the footy ... Its -10c today and going down to -20c next week. Rejkjavik will feel like a warm and comforting memory ;-)

I didn't go to the last Wales game in Turkey and wondered if card payment is widely accepted outside of the tourist resorts? Also, my last time in Mamaris (15 years ago), the prices in Turkish Lira went up, never down daily based on the exchange rate. So, if the exchange rate shot up overnight, the price of food and drinks went up as well. It was like they priced everything in £pounds and just multiplied by the Turkish Lira for those with local currency. Is it still the same?

Did anything else come of the supposed safety reasons that were going to be further communicated for the reduction in tickets? It had all gone quiet.
I get that there’s no issue for this game now but it is still an important issue due to people missing out in the past and I’d be keen to understand the logic? As far as I am aware the FAW get charged for a certain percentage of tickets left unsold so I wonder if they are reducing allocations to avoid this but hiding behind safety concerns as the reason? It would be good to have some transparency.

It would be good to have some transparency. To be fair I was a doubter too when it was first announced that the allocation would be reduced. Having seen Fan Embassy responses on X since, along with photos of the stand, I have to agree, it isn’t the best in terms of steepness and lack of barriers. There was also other issues which compounded the problem. Such as a full height perspex barrier at the front of the terrace, meaning nobody would want to be in the front set of rows, as you can’t see through it clearly. They did state that if everyone was certain to remain seated, it would not be so much of a problem. 10 pints later, that isn’t going to happen. So on reflection it appears a valid shout to reduce the allocation. I did post earlier that they should have shared the risk assessment highlighting the actual issues, rather than stating vague “safety concerns” Link to Fan Embassy X post. There were others with better pics of the stand, but can’t find them. x.com/wearefsacymru/status/1846339161067757802?s=46Found the other link x.com/wearefsacymru/status/1849106773984035044?s=46

Last June, there was a totally expected devaluation of the lira, about a week after our game. IIRC, it was 15% or so. The lira is still volatile, but nothing more than 1% or so, here or there. I spent 3 weeks there and not a single hotel (under £30 or so per night) accepted cards. Same with simple restaurants (under £5 meals). Just cash.
If you use the post office PTT, ING or Halkbank (and possibly HSBC) ATM machines, they allow free cash withdrawels. Doenload the APP "ATM fee Saver" and it will give you a local map with actual fees.

WYNDHAM GRAND HOTEL DEAL
If anyone still needs a place to stay, or if you can cancel for free and want to move ...
You can get the Wyndham now for €70 - KING SUITE INCLUDING BREAKFAST
Booking via www.hrs.com - YOU MUST BE LOGGED IN TO GET THE DEAL - its free to register!
You can cancel this booking anytime UNTIL 6pm ON DAY of arrival! No credit card needed.
I have used HRS about ten times this Summer - mainly in Germany, Belgium and France - its a German hotel booking site, with fairly decent telephone customer service. They often allow cancellations until 6pm on day of arrival - which is VERY USEFUL ;-)
As for the Wyndham - I think it may have seen better days ... but it does have a swimming pool (slightly on the cold side?) sauna, free bath robes, minibar in room, the breakfast gets rave reviews and a bar with a long happy hour...

I can't see much on TripAdvisor. My understanding is that most central hotels (Holiday Inn / Wyndham Grand) are still only 4 miles away from airport. IBIS and the Railway station hotels are just over 3 miles away. You should certainly not be paying more than 200tl for a taxi. If you have no lira - then a £5 note should make the man more than happy ;-) There are local buses, numbers 100 , 101 and 271 running through until 23:30 The only 24/7 bus I know of only goes to the railway station from the airport. I haven't managed to find out ... but I imagine that the local transport uses there own oyster type card and don't accept CC or cash??

Turkish eSim
I used them in September for Montenegro and Albania and it worked much better than my fall-back option (Manet).
MICROESIM is a Hong Kong company - and if you have a credit card that allows free overseas transactions, you are MUCH better off paying in USD or HKD! Paying in GBP is around 10% dearer...
Use a discount code “ESIMDB” or “ESIMSAI” to get $1 off, the already heavily promoted price: 3 days / 5 days / 7 days = $1 / $2 / $3
I bought 15 days 3gb for $3.30 / £2.50
ESIM.SM You can get the exact same value with this company (which seems to get better Trust Pilot reviews) esim.sm/en/travel-to/turkey
So the deal I went for was 10 days 3gb for $3.40 - USE PROMO CODE "FIRST25" FOR 25% DISCOUNT
NOTE: esim.sm has an app as well (you can only see your remaining credit on a web browser with microesim) so after you instal the esim.sm (and while it is active) you can see it on the app. If you turn it off (while still in the uk...) you will not see it on the app. The eSim activates physically only when connecting to a Turkish mast (within 60 days of installation).
If you have other stop-overs or need to add one or two more countires to the package have a search on

Just a heads up anyone transitting through Antalya, I'm there now and have been through 3 security checks already, final call for my 16.15 flight was made at 15.00, so allow plenty of time if you're connecting through here.
It's also one of the most expensive European airports I've ever been to!
