From what I can see, most real-food restaurants in kayseri close by 11pm. Mostly fast-food after that... very hard working sleepy lil town. Remember, Sunday is a regular working day in these parts ...

Decided to cancel my Wyndham Grand hotel reservation on hrs.com. If anyone needs it, it will probably become available in the next hour or so. €70/€85 sgl/dbl in a King Suite... with no spa/gym/pool tho...

There is a nice little place called Bazaari, with proper plates of meat. Kidneys, Liver, Hearts, even eyes. Get in there and fill your boots.

BOOKING.COM Just in case you used it to book AND can't seem to find your booking... Turkey has banned them and you can not use the website or app inside turkey... YOU MUST USE a non Turkish VPN! So that is one hour of my life that I'm not getting back :+(( Nice warning, Antalya hotel confirmation now printed. Arriving tomorrow. A bit concerned about getting to Kayseri bus station by 11:15 if we are "Subjected to a holdback" after the match

What's the weather like in Türkiye today, lads? And are you making your way towards Kayseri itself by this time? Just come back in from the pub. Antalya is full of Welsh fans. Looks like most of us are on the earlybird to Kayseri Saturday morning. An Eisteddfod flight, should be fun !

TURKISH AIRLINES Cancellation policy. I can confirm that even ecofly tickets do qualify for circa 75% card refund or 80% in vouchers, as long as done more than 12h before take off. 1h-12h before take off you will only get tax back

Just got back from yet another great wales away trip. Met loads of great people I know and got to know even more. My eldests 3rd trip, just turned 18 so he could have a few and he absolutely loved it, hes hooked. Can't wait for the next one 👍🍻🏴 Cracking trip. Back in Antalya, de-frosting and enjoying not having to compete to buy a beer. Have to say that the cops at the game, like all the locals we met out in Kayseri, were tip-top. May not be everyone’s experience. One copper asked me for a light (lighters banned) Said sorry mate I’ve only got e-ciggys as I puffed away (also banned in the stadium) He eventually got a light off another Welsh fan and spent his smoke break, which I think are compulsory every 5 minutes out here, just having a laugh with us. The taxi drive to the city from the airport has to go down as the peak adrenalin moment. We had Mad Max driving, undertaking everyone in the inside lane at crazy speeds, we came across 3 or 4 sets of lights on red. No problem, take the slip road, handbrake turn and rejoin the road before the lights change. I doubt anyone got to the Holiday Inn quicker than we did. He got a healthy tip, as we staggered out in urgent need of medicinal alcohol. The flights from Antalya to Kayseri and back, with Pegasus and Sun Express were super chilled and bang on time both ways. Nothing left to do now, but dig out the speedos again and head down to the beach tomorrow. My one sour note would be Turkish techno-pop, is there a worse torture of the ears ?

Ha I loved the music personally but can see how it could grate after a while. Every cab we got had bass heavy Turkish pop/rap blasting out, the perfect soundtrack to their kamikaze driving style. There was a live band then DJ in the Wyndham Hotel after the game, a fantastic way to finish the trip.

It was as different a trip/venue as you could ever get when compared to Reykjavik a month ago. Reykjavik was small and compact while Kayseri felt particularly spread out.
I enjoyed the Iceland trip more if I'm honest, although I also got to do cool things in Turkey such as fly in a hot air balloon following a 5am departure from Kayseri to Cappadocia.... after only going to bed at 2:30 post match :/
But a flight a day over four days (Manchester - Instanbul, Istanbul - Kayseri, Kayseri - Istanbul and Istanbul - Manchester) was too much really and was a major contributor to feeling pretty knackered throughout.
I'm glad we got two nights in Istanbul as three nights in Kayseri would have been incredibly boring from my experience.
