So we've moved up another 7 places to 42nd in a sport virtually every country in the world plays. We're have our highest ranking position for 17 years, and it doesn't even get a mention on the media Wales website... www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/

If we stay in 42nd place in the fifa rankings, does it mean that we will be in fifa 13?
It will we interesting to see if NI if they stay at their current ranking if they are included

When I heard about that, I believed it was a joke.

We even moved up places after losing our last two games.

A decent ranking for a small country, tho the women's team are ranked higher!

Northen Ireland were fourth seeds in their WC group and are now 23 places below Luxembourg. That cheers me up a bit in a cruel way.

I'm not expecting us to qualify for Brazil but I think we should aim to climb/maintain our rankings ready for the Euro 2016 qualifiying pots. Since we have a good chance of qualification with it being 24 teams.
We are currently ranked 25th in Europe.

We have further descended by 16 places to 82nd in the world after defeat after defeat after miserable defeat.
It won't be long before we fall outside the top 100 at this rate.
Why don't we push for a 'Carry-on' film remake. We can call it 'Carry - on Chris'

It seems we're going up and down like a yo-yo. It wasn't that long ago were 117th under Speed, then in the 40s, now back down to 82nd.
It shows how absurd the rankings are that a few results can alter your standing so dramatically. Really hope they stop basing the seedings on rankings in future.

It doesn't really show how absurd the rankings are. When we were in the 40s the team looked like a team in the 40s, now we're in the 80s and we look like a team in the 80s - maybe even worse.
We have 6 qualifiers left to change our seeding, lets cut our losses, sack Coleman and give it a good old go!

And as usual we missed the opportunity to play a game last month. It's getting pretty fucking boring. i.e back to normal after a bit of success..

Yes it is that simple, but it won't happen. He'll probably be given the rest of the campaign and given another one even if he does shitter than he's done so far.

And replace him with who?
Who is going to come in and wave a magic wand and make Ramsey the player he was under Speed? Or Darcy Blake the player he was under Speed?
Speed galvanised them, there is no doubt about that, but everyone criticising Coleman is conveniently overlooking the fact that collectively our club players were in decent form at club level- its been pretty fucking horrendous on that front for most of the squad of late, for me the only two players who have shown any level of consistency have been Bale and Allen and that ain't good enough to win games against decent teams at international level. Although there are encouraging signs that Ashley Williams at least is sorting himself out for Swansea.

There are many managers out there better than Coleman who would actually take the Wales job and are good enough, people who have actually been successful at a club, something which Coleman has never been. Coleman is the worst manager in the entirety of the World. If the World ended on the 21st, he'd be forever known throughout the Universe as the worst manager ever. If a country wanted to lose a war, they would put Chris Coleman in charge of their army. I'd rather have Toshack back as a bloody caretaker!!!!!!
...and by Allen's consistency do you mean he's playing consistently shit?

You are obviously blissfully unaware of Mark McGhee's 'performance' at Bristol Rovers then...I envy you! Trust me when I say that is the yardstick for crap management. When Coleman loses against Macedonia whilst playing a centre back with no pace on the wing(!) and then states after the match that the centre back in question plays on the wing because he is the best crosser of the ball in the team THEN you can come back and talk about Coleman being the worst manager in history!!! ;D I'm not so sure about your certainty that we would have decent managers queueing up to take the job- the shortlist was hardly inspiring the last time the FAW had an open application process, it was basically a load of Welsh nobodies + Lager Lout which just about says it all. Realistically, I would like to see Hughes or Saunders come in, but Hughes is too arrogant to 'lower' himself to Wales and Saunders...well, the fact that he probably would not leave a successful league one side to join the train wreck that is the Wales team again says it all. And with regards to Allen- he hasn't been great under Coleman but he has at least been average, if not better. The rest have been lower than shite, Ramsey is a busted flush, Williams is seldom at the races......and wtf has happened to Blake?!

Someone with a vision, intelligence, a great work ethic and an effective motivator. That's all. It can't be that difficult. And I know you were trying to avoid a genuine comparison Storm but don't try and compare Wales with Bristol Rovers, to pin your paper thin 'glass is half full' argument. Merry Christmas.

I used to respect and mostly agree with your posts in the past Storm but calling a manager who took Sweden to numerous World Cups "Lager Lout" is a post "Bellamyforever" would post.
Truth is actually "Lager Lout" as you call him WOULD have been a better choice that Chris "I don't care about Wales" Coleman and that is in no doubt.

Wish people would just give Coleman the campaign. This time last campaign everyone wanted speed out but after he turned it around that had gone. Get behind Coleman and criticise after campaign

I actually wanted the FAW to employ Lagerback and said as much on here at the time! To think we turned him down and paid compo for speed beggared belief. I just used the name Lager Lout cus I recall someone else using the term on here (FF IIRC) and it amused me ;D it was not meant as a reflection of his managerial abilities!
