Yeah, and since when do you care how Boro spend their money RD?! I'm sure they pissed well over 1.2 mill away on few weeks wages for underachieving oldies like Gazza, Ince, Ravenelli etc... Ched at that price COULD be a bargain.

Ched at that price COULD be a bargain. An inflated transfer market affects everyone FF, even Wrexham. A transfer value is a barometer of the current state of the market and like it or not players are usually sold according to the cost of transfers that take place around their level. If Boro decide that an out of form striker like Ched is worth 1.2m then that makes clubs around Sheffield United's level take note and raise their asking price for their woefully average players. So sooner or later that affects the calibre of player that my club, Bristol rovers, can afford and we end up paying over the odds for shite. Then Wrexham want to buy an out of favour player off us and we pass the cost on to you. To put it bluntly, if Ched is worth 1.2m what does that make Scott Sinclair worth?

Boro won't make a move for Ched til they offload Boyd and McDonald who are both on big money.
Ched won't be in a hurry to move til nearer the end of the summer as he'll earn a fraction of his weekly wage now wherever he goes. I doubt he'll be answering Danny Wilson's phonecalls until he has to.

About £6million. £1.2 for Ched is a good price.

Of course, neither figure is realistic but then I guess they never are in the world of football.

A realistic price is whatever the purchaser is willing to pay. The football industry is no different from the fruit and veg trade.
Evans is an international footballer with a good goals/games ratio at championship level. He is young and his market value has the potential to increase. One million is a very good price.
Sinclair is a promising english player who has come from Chelsea. He has had one good season in the championship and has now been promoted to the EPL. £6m is about right.

If Jordan Henderson is 'worth' 20 million, 1.2 for Ched seems fair enough...

Ched has been superb at u-21 level, it might just be a case of maturing. He's a natural talent with a ball. I would buy him with no hesistation if I managed a Championship club.

If Jordan Henderson is 'worth' 20 million, 1.2 for Ched seems fair enough... That's a big 'if'. Of course Jordan Henderson isn't worth £20m. The problem is that the media machine in England grossly over-hypes their players and patriotism puts pressure on the clubs to spend way over the odds on these guys. Is Andy Carroll really worth £35m? Bollocks he is. Is Ched Evans worth £1.2m? I wouldn't pay that, might pay about half that for him.

Yeah, but is Andy Carroll really 29 times better than Ched Evans though? because that's basically what those 2 transfer fees say.

They say nothing unless put in context with other transfer fees and the market in general. Carroll was obviously a panic buy, while Ched also at £1.2m (in my opinion) would be a panic buy.

This lad desperately needs to settle down with a side before time runs out for him. I'll be honest he's been unlucky with injuries, but I hope he goes to Leicester perhaps Sven Goran Eriksson would get the best out of him like he got out of players like Darius Vassell last season who before then tbh was going nowhere until Eriksson rescued him.

I find it really bizarre that saints and storm seem so offended by the idea of someone paying 1.2 million for Ched. Andy Carroll is roughly the same age, and has scored roughly the same number of goals as a professional footballer (and only a few of those came in the premiership) and he goes for 35 million?! And yet 1.2 for Ched is a ' panic buy' and 'grossly over-priced'?!

Not really sure we should be making jokes about an alleged date rape. Sadly, Ched's football career will turn into a very unfunny joke unless he sorts himself out soon.

Come on people, its only the super soaraway sun reporting this- hence the use of terms like 'believed' in the article so they can print what they like. Believe it only when he has been charged and then found guilty in a courtroom.
That being said IF (big IF) there is the alleged CCTV footage of the woman seeming incapably drunk with Ched then he really is a total moron for putting himself in that situation in the first place, regardless of whether it was consensual at the time.
EDIT: Also the ramifications of an investigation means that nobody will touch Ched with a bargepole until its concluded, which could take the best part of a year if it goes to court. Poor old Sheffield United, having to pay 16k+ a week in League One. At least we know that Ched will be taking that compo for Speed back to Wales after all....

the footballers life is a sleezy one by the looks/sound of things
full of easy money,easy women
it has to be noted that there are women out there (im not saying this one in particular) who see footballers/go out of their way to be surrounded by footballers in the hope of getting in on the wag lifestyle so lets not judge too soon
i dont know how wise ched is but if i were going to sexually attack someone then the last thing id be doing is using my credit card to book a room to do it,im not giving him ideas on how to get away with it but surely if that was his intention then he wouldnt have gone about it in that way?
if her condition was as bad as reported then he's a sleazy fucker with no morals what so ever but that doesnt make him a rapist
who hasnt had a drunken fumble eh!

As the increasing number of false rape accusations in the news attests men should not be having drunken fumbles full stop, no matter how certain you are that the woman consents because she can easily withdraw consent afterwards and drag the man through the courts. Even an innocent verdict is often not enough to remove the doubt over a man's character afterwards in the eyes of the public. Thats why Ched is a fool no matter if he was acting in all innocence. Its just not worth the risk. Drunken women = bad news.

Drunken women = bad news. ched was a fool agreed..and i agree with your post in general but we've all had one night stands, the risk is the same for joe public aswell some birds are just drunken dirty slappers, who wake up the next morning, feel like a whore and instead of blaming themselves they blame the man man's name gets blackened for no reason and its something he has to live with for the rest of his life im not saying this is the case here but we all know it happens and we shouldnt be quick to judge look at that hooker rooney landed and that imogen thomas..yes of course, rooney and giggs were seedy in their actions but for them two slappers to act like they're the victims in all this is a bit much..they knew they were married so that makes them just as guilty
