Great talent, just hope his court case doesn't stop the momentum he has at the moment. If it doesn't he'll be playing in at least the Championship next season I reckon Agreed! I'm sure bigger offers shall come in when the season is completed, but I hope he stays with Sheffield United if they get Promoted. I'd forgotten the last occasion he played for Wales, was against England last March for the last twenty five mins!

I heard Ched was voted 7th best player in the football league in that annual fourfourtwo poll. Anyone know if any other Welshmen made the top 50? Jack Collison or Boaz Myhill perhaps?

Scored his 32nd of the season today. When did a Welsh player in the football league score more goals in a season than Ched has this?
Earnshaw at Cardiff in 2002-3 perhaps?

Its good to see him banging the goals in again. When he was with the u21's he looked like he had a very bright future, but there still is time to rectify it. This goal he scored against Iceland was awesome. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aQQZbHSybk

Another two tonight, takes Sheff Utd into auto playoff spot. Assuming he's not at her majesty's pleasure, he thankfully looks certain to be playing at a higher level next season one way or another.

Yeah defo, i'll be rooting for Sheffield United to go up as he looks really settled there. I have a feeling Mark Hughes may try and sign him for QPR, I know he was a fan when they were both at Man City, and Ched's improved a lot as a player since then.

QPR under Sparky. That's a good call

Although I could see Hughes signing him, I'd bet against Sparky being at QPR next year.

I hope Sheffield Utd go up and he stays. He seems happy there, there appears to be a bond between him and Danny Wilson and they appear to be playing the right type of football to help him thrive. Also, the Blades fans love him! A year ago-pretty much to a man- they seemed to utterly despise him, so that's not a sentence I was expecting to be able to type so soon. Shows how quickly fans can turn. Rambo bashers take note!
If Sheffield Utd don't go up, how about Swansea?

If he's guilty he deserves to go to prison for a long time)

If Sheffield Utd don't go up, how about Swansea? Has he ever played the lone striker role in a side before? He seems to play better alongside with a partner like currently with Richard Creswell or Chris Porter with Sheffield United and the results are there for all see, thirty three for the season! He'd not get that down the Swans, but tbh I'd prefer him to Lita or Moore!

34 in 41 this season so far, 28 in 35 league games...ched evans has got talent, i'd 100% play him against Mexico too see how it goes. Feed the Ched and he will score!

This is only the prosecution's side though. It's their duty to present the strongest possible case. I agree that some of it seems quite unseemly, but that's not really what the case is about.

Its the prosecution's job not to make it sound good. Wait til the defence have their say and you may well change your mind. Sadly this seems like the typical "did the drunken girl consent" scenario where the only way to know one way or the other is to have been there.
In all honesty though Ched is a grade A tool for even putting himself in the position for this to happen, regardless of verdict. Drunk girls are bad news and any man should steer well clear, especially a high profile footballer. Seriously, he must not give a toss about his career to have risked it like this. He is a total idiot.

Exactly, but there you go, that's footballers nowadays for you, believe they can do what they want, when they want off the pitch and not consider the consequences, idiots like you said!

Without wishing to presume one's guilt, there are aspects of the evening that are truly lacking in class.
That said, I've stayed in the Premier Inn in Rhuddlan and eaten at the neighbouring restaurant. Not too bad as they go

with all the drunk girls sleeping with footballers and regretting it the next day it's only a matter of time before one of them gets convicted.i hope for Cheds sake its not him. the reality is that with so many women throwing themselves at footballers there would be little need for footballers to have to rape someone.although in this case it seems to be based on the fact that she was too drunk to give consent. not being an expert in law, what happens if two drunk people have sex but the women claims the next day that she was too drunk to give consent and the man claims he was too drunk also? it would seem unfair if he got locked up for rape when it was two equally drunk people not knowing what they were doing.

Interesting point, problem is that drunkenness will never be an excuse for a man. In the eyes of the law women can drink themselves into a coma yet they will never be held accountable for their actions- they are always the victims. A man cannot do the same as he is expected to be in control of the situation at all times. If Ched used the defence that he too was so pissed out of his box he didn't have a clue what happened do you think the two parties would cancel each other out? I suspect that Ched would still find himself in court on a charge. As a man I feel really strongly about this issue because its the one area of the justice system where both the defendant and the victim are not afforded the same liberties. There was a shocking case the other day where a man was dragged into court as a so called 'rapist', named and shamed in the press and as evidence in his defence was able to produce video footage proving the girl consented to sex. The case was thrown out and the girl given 9 months for perverting the course of justice. She was not however, named and shamed. Whats sauce for the goose is not sauce for the gander when it comes to allegations of sexual assault and it will only get worse for men if the likes of Harriet Harman get their way and strip away men's rights just so the courts can improve the rape conviction rate by using flimsy evidence.

That's 35 for the season, which is the same number Earnshaw got in 2002-3. Any idea when the last time a Welsh player in the football league/premier league scored MORE in a season than Ched has this? Ian Rush's 40 for Liverpool in 86-7 perhaps?

Darren Rowbotham got a stack in 87-88 (I think). Sean McCArthy as wellin the early 90s? What was Deano's best haul?
