Agree about Gunter, the Swiss were shit scared of him which is why they had a red card and is why we won a penalty. of course it could have gone either way but only one team deserved the win that night and it wasn't the team with the massive cowbell in the stand. Sorry Stu not having a go but found this funny going through the old posts (Switzerland shit scared of Gunter)

Taylor had a stinker today for Villa. Can’t see him lasting there much longer.

He can. Uncle Pearce played him there for that Olympic side. As much as I hate to admit it, he was brilliant for them when he played there. That was the best part of 6 years ago though!

Taylor is no longer an option for us at left back. A real shame Coleman didn't give Dummet a chance.

"Villa are continuing to assess the fitness of full-back Ahmed Elmohamady after the Egyptian missed last week’s play-off semi-final second leg against Middlesbrough with a hamstring injury. James Bree is again expected to deputise should Elmohamady again be unavailable at Wembley, though Neil Taylor is back in contention after recovering from his own hamstring issue."

Listened to them on a flight yesterday, great insight into all aspects of the game. Hope he can kick on at Villa this season in what looks to be a completely different side come the first league game.

Taylor had a good game according to the match-day pundits. Davies isn't available for the Denmark game - Taylor has to be a contender, if fit and available.

Not sure of the situation at Villa, obviously now they've had a change in management, but with Hutton and El Mohammody playing yesterday as well I assume they played a back 5? If Taylor gets regular game time over the next few weeks I'm sure Giggs will call him up. I saw a suggestion to play Gunter at LB on twitter..... no, just no!

Like Gunts, Taylor is a good defender but we do have better attacking full backs now. Taylor is a better defender than Declan John, so I think he should start against Denmark as long as he continues to get game time for Villa.

Can Dummett be trusted now though?
I've always given him the benefit of the doubt, and not been too critical of his time under Coleman. But he's just played a full game after pulling out of the squad yet again.........

I would rather Dummett than Taylor.
Taylor is an accident waiting to happen
His blunder in Andorra almost derailed the euro campaign and his sending off in Dublin had a major effect on the world cup qualifying.
Would have him in the squad ahead of John.

What about Hughes at Preston as a contender for the squad?

It will be interesting to see Giggs trust to fill in for Ben - Dummett must be favourite, but I think Giggs likes John. Taylor and Hughes outsiders and Jazz is also capable of playing left back.

John isn't playing at all though - so I can't see him being a contender, unless he gets game time. The same goes for Richards. I agree Dummett has got to be favourite, if he can show commitment to the double-header.

Saying all that, few of Giggs line ups have had one or two shocks. Wouldn't be surprised to see someone played out of position. Gunts? Kieron Freeman was also in our last squad.

Wouldn't surprise me if he played Bale at left back, Conner Roberts as a lone striker and Neil Taylor as a holding midfielder ;-)

It's almost impossible to predict the line up under Giggs! The unpredictability factor suits us quite well at this stage though, especially when it comes to our opponents trying to figure out how we're going to play.
