I'm interested to see how this pans out. It's been interesting to see the papers do a lot of talking about him - Liverpool, Spuds, QPR - but absolutely nothing from him. I suspect this is the work of agents, who perhaps naturally, would rather see him go to an epl side.

It's all over SSN as well.
I'm still not convinced, I think a bigger club might come back in last minute (aka Liverpool) but time will tell...

Hard to see him thriving at QPR butwould be a great deal for them, he might help them stay up.

Apparently Craig Bellamy has been given permission to leave the Welsh squad in order to sort his return to Anfield out. SSN

Interesting you should say that...I'm pretty sure he already has! I saw an interview post-Bolton game last week where he laid into someone, without naming them, for saying that he was crazy to play Suarez against Exeter after the Copa...pretty sure this is the work of Tweeting Ray.

Lerpwl. I maintain that he might not get too much game time there, what with Downing, Kuyt and others jostling for places. Stoke would have been perfect, they are in Europe and could go far too, and he would probably have been first choice there.

good move I reckon. Downing has mainly played mainly on the right cutting in on his left foot, I imagine Bellamy will be played on the left cutting in on his right foot, with Suarez/Carroll up front. Throw Kuyt into the mix and Liverpool have some very decent options up top now.

About time the debate was raised about whether this constitutes racism.
Im in two minds, I suppose its banter- but it does annoy me how every sanctimonious twat bangs on about "kick racism out of football" yet either joins in, or does nothing when people start chanting "sheep shagger" when teams play Wales. Its only worth shouting about only when its directed at people of a different skin colour it seems.

Well it is rascist but since it was inglish on Welsh that obviously makes it ok and nothing will be done about it. Just as it was ok for the inglish fans to call the Bulgarians gypos etc etc
Imagine the outcry if Bellamy had reacted with a comment about Brighton being the gay capital of England. What a shit storm that would have caused.
Which naturally leads me onto how Ash and Taylor will get treated in Bulgaria. Naturally you'd assume they'd recieve the same treatment as the black inglish players did. Especially when you consider all their FA will recieve is a token fine off UEFA. Frankly it's not good enough.
The sooner clubs and national sides are punished heavily for the actions of their fans the sooner they will do something about it.

When I lived in Liverpool a few years back I would be on the recieving end of this 'banter' and I ended up in a lot of arguments and fights because I regarded what they said as vile and xenophobic. If you are being insulted about your nationality, it isn't freindly banter.
Once you call them imperialistic dog fuckers, see how those motherfuckers like it when the shoe is on the other foot. They can give it out but they can't take it. They have this view that every one who isn't English is below them, which is built into their psyche from them invading half the planet.

Let's be honest both FIFA & UEFA aint gonna do something about this they are corrupt t the core they have even awarded the upcoming World Cup to countries Russia & Brazil & that arab one as well who's record on Racism & discrimination are abysmal.
If it was a either Wales/England/Scotland or NI, they would have banned them from all competitions

We chant "1-0 to the sheep shaggers" at games, so how could it be offensive? It's very hard to prove that the fan(s) meant it as racism. If it is intended offensively and it gets to the point where violence and intimidation is the norm in some parts of England then sure, have the inquest and start a Kick it Out campaign, but at present that kind of behaviour is associated with black players getting monkey chants in Eastern Europe, not Welsh players being called sheep shaggers in a largely harmless way.

We're allowed to call ourselves sheep shaggers in the same way that black people are allowed to call other black people the N word. I'm not comparing the two equally but only highlighting the difference. They are both racist terms and both used in order to try and "take it back".

I've only heard the last two games on radio cos abroad, but sounds like Bonkers Bells was shooting loads, perhaps often when he shouldn't have - is this a sign of his lack of first team action for his club recently, or perhaps more worrying that he's not feeling like he can take the ball past that last man quite so much, what with his aging legs n all?

Interesting point - it definitely crossed my mind last night that his legs have gone. Hopefully, it's a sharpness thing though.

Furthermore, it was interesting to see that he no longer gets the ball every time he asks for it. That's a good sign, both in terms of our improved quality and also the improved confidence within the team.

His shooting was awful in both games. In fact, it's been pretty bad through the whole campaign, where he's failed to score a goal. I was really disappointed with his shooting in Podgorica last year.
The good news is that he's still regularly getting into the right positions ( or making them for himself) to score. I think he'll give the World cup campaign everything he's got before retiring.

I found his final ball has been poor, I remember the frustration of him pulling his shots wide against the Swiss. His pace and dribbling seem as good as expected so hope he has a bit more left in his legs.

At least Bellamy helped Taylor out at times - so it's good to see he's doing the job asked of him by Speed. But generally I thought he had a poor game last night. The effort from the edge of the box that he ballooned over the bar was pretty inexcusable - seeing that the ball was virtually stationary when he leathered it.
You never know which Bellamy will turn up - the Bellamy that sank Slovakia away single-handedly, or played outstandingly well in the Carling Cup for Liverpool a few weeks ago, or the Bellamy who played last night. You know Bellamy can turn in outstanding performances - and for that reason is a vital squad member - but you also know you cannot rely on him to perform. Shame - because he is an outstanding talent. Hopefully, Joniesta will be the one to challenge him for a place in the starting line-up. Being able to call on Bellamy from the bench would be a very tasty proposition.

It's more about what he creates now than scores. Was the same last year with City.
