There was some speculation that Bellamy was saying farewell when he threw his shirt into the crowd last night. I don't buy that at all, I doubt he would carry on the last few years when we've been as bad as we have been only to quit as soon as we get our act together.
The rest of the team has improved a hell of a lot over the last few years and whilst it's obvious he is getting on and isn't match sharp I think it's merely the fact that he isn't our best player anymore.
It wasn't long ago that everytime he played he would be the sole person the kids looked to pass to everytime. Then when he didn't play they didn't have him to rely on and had to pass to each other and create things themselves. I remember wishing they could play the way they do without Bellamy when they did have Bellamy.
I think we finally have that wish granted.

James Collins in Liechtenstein, Ashley Williams and Sam Ricketts in Montenegro, Darcy Blake against Australia - just a few examples I can recall of players throwing shirts into the crowd, and not one of them blown up as a "farewell"!

Yep, they can either keep a sweaty shirt on or make a HUGE gensture to the fans. It's a no brainer really.

Bellamy has been giving items to fans before. Mate has got his armband from Slovakia when he scored a hatrick
Perhaps he firm't fancy another Bulgarian shirt.
Also he helped out defensively on quite a few occasions.
We know he has to look after his body so the second game may have been too soon. When was the last time he played in 2 games in 4 days.
I think that he will relish the challenge in the next group.

We also heard his passion quite loudly last night when the linesman gave the Bulgarians the ball. Usually the crowd soaks up that kind of shouting but we were treated last night F**KING HELL! www.youtube.com/watch?v=ys2dl1Jkubk

Need him around for the World Cup Qualifiers for like you said his hunger, workrate and a lot may disagree with me here but his character, he is a winner whether you like him, whether you do not like him!

Came across this, really good to hear that even though we lost 2-0 he said was the best week he'd been involved in welsh football due to the set up. Makes what has happened even harder to swallow. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQNbwiM5ats

Is that chris watham asking him if it will be his last game at the end? I hate the way the media seem to want to keep pushing him on retirement.

Most Wales fans I know were polarised on whether they thought he would be carrying on. I didn't think he would make the England game. Media was asking the questions we wanted asking....for once

I know he'll be wanting Hughes as he's played under him with Wales, Blackburn, City before and he's always got the best out of him or Ray as he's been his fitness guru and like Hughes, got the best out of him.

Fascinating article from Jonathan Wilson www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/jan/03/the-question-liverpool-home-formCraig Bellamy has got five of 11 shots on target, Carroll 14 of 34, Dirk Kuyt seven of 17 and Luis Suárez 28 of 69. The big difference is in chance conversion – how many of those shots go in. Bellamy has scored 36.4% of his chances (from an admittedly small sample size), Suárez 7.2%, Carroll 5.9% and Kuyt none

Bargain signing for Liverpool. He wasted a season in the Championship last season imo.

What will he achieve at his current club? -------------- Based on what I saw tonight? Not a lot. Carroll, Henderson, Downing and Adam is 80 million quid that I bet Dalglish wishes he could spend again...

Great to see that Bellamy was given a good welcome by Citeh fans.

The Adam transfer to Liverpool reminded me of players who get a transfer to the Old Firm based on a single season playing well for, say, Hibs or Motherwell. There's been tons of them. He'll have moved on by or at the end of next season I reckon. He's not good enough

If Adam is supposedly one of Scotland's biggest players then they are in deep trouble!!!! Agreed. Was a good player in a poor side with Blackpool and with Liverpool he's a small fish in a big pond, completely overrated like Downing and Henderson. Sam Vokes is still lucky to have a jaw, with Adam's elbow on him last May in mind.

If we don't make the play offs then should Coleman's contract be renewed? Maybe he'll have underachieved given the level of talent in the squad now. If we do make Brazil, then he'll probabaly be offered a good premier league job, so will move on. I'd love to see Bellamy play until 2014 and then take over as manager! There's no way of knowing fr sure of course, but I'm confident Bellamy would be so much better as Wales manager than Giggs.

I suspect the FAW only view Coleman as a stop-gap appointment. Go in, get rid of troublesome RV, put in place a new captain who doesn't rock the boat, and do your best in the forthcoming campaign. Then appoint Giggs.
Hope Bellers stays for the next campaign.
