big rumours of bellamy becoming part of the new Project at cardiff.
why it may happen:
mancini doesn't Trust him. none of the 'big four' want him. tottenham? could be an option, but can he play with defoe? he is not motivated by money anymore. he wants to achieve something tangible in his career. he wants to move back to Cardiff.
chances?
not sure, but would be an absolute delight it it came off.
coincidence, but during the cardiff second leg vs leicester, i said that if they were promoted, they should sack jones, bring in hughes - with the aim of signing bellamy as head of their new Project.
also - could lead to ledley staying at the club, plus other kwality players joining.

What are the sources of these rumours Trendy?
It would be great if they are true.

twas on the bbc gossip page.
bellamy has been training with cardiff + according to the western fail (bad source, i know), dave jones has told the new board to go for a certain, very special, player.
IF jones has told the board about bellamy, it is highly unlikely he would have done so without getting a nod from bellamy himself.

It would be awesome, but I can't see it happening.
I think it would be completely unprecedented in Premiership history, no? Has there ever been a case when an arguably top-four team class Premiership player has chosen to drop down a division when he's still in his prime? To turn down champions league football (as seems likely with Spurs wanting him) for championship football? That would show a commitment to one's home town club and a lack of enthusiasm for money that has literally never been witnessed in modern professional football.
Guess that would make it all the more astonishing if it did happen.
I think Bonkers will want to carry on making big money, if only to run his African charity stuff.

i agree it would be totally unprecidented.
but for dave jones to tell the board to make something happen with bellamy - surely he has to believe it could be done. otherwise, he is making an absolute tool of himself in front of his new board.
re spurs. something tells me that this is there one season in the champ league. and they have no chance of winning it. is that that much of a lure for bellamy?
combined with the hometown factor, being part of the cardiff Project is the only route to establishing a proper legacy for himself as a club player.
three year deal?
1 - get them up 2 - keep them up 3 - glorious swansong
he could retire after two, as a legend.

news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/cardiff_city/8714667.stmit's on. bellamy talks semi-cryptically about what degree of 'support' it would take form the club's hierarchy to keep him there. truth is, mancini wants him out. and, in all honesty, they'll be bringing in better, younger, less inury prone, players than him if the rumours regarding ibrahimovic, silva et al are true. quite remarkable if it comes off.

to be honest, i think he's at the stage now where playing in a different league wont have much of an affect - i don't think he'd improve by playing in the champions league, and i dont think he'll get any worse by playing in the champ.
at the moment, it almost looks like 'when not if'...

I hope he's not seeing this as a 'winding down my career' sort of thing. Bellamy has been a great servant for us but we desperately need him around at his best for another few years to help the youngsters out.
If he was serious about trying it though (and giving it 100%), it would be awesome, because Cardiff would be unstoppable in that league and could perhaps even persuade Ledley to stay. I remember when Bellamy played in the SPL (a similar standard) and literally no-one could live with him.

I don't think it would affect the standard of his play for Wales at all if he moved to Cardiff, and even tough I'm not a bluebird I'm all for this move because of the buzz there would then be around Welsh football. If he does well (and I don't see any reason why he wouldn't) I don't think we'd struggle at all to fill the CCS for qualifiers etc.

any news on this?
the only clue i've spotted is that it seems as if cardiff are fairly happy for ipswich to take chopra for 4million - i cant think of any reason, other than bellamy, of why they would allow this - given that the money side is now supposedly okay.

I think the lad wants to come home, where he knows he'll be loved. Bless.
Going to be interesting to see what happens now. I'd be unbelievably shocked if he does follow through with his quit threat. Only people like Cantona and Zidane quit whilst still playing their best football. Bellars is good, but not that good... I personally think a move to Cardiff would be great, if just for the kind of buzz it would create in Welsh football. And if him and Koumas find their best form Cardiff would walk the championship.

Loan move to Cardiff would be terrific for Cardiff.
I don't think Bellamy is the kind to get complacent and take it easy at a lower standard either, so I don't think it would affect his international career.
I just hope to God he doesn't quit, because if losing Davies was a blow then this would be easily 10 times worse.

that's what i was saying; i think it's a power play.
he's threatening to quit, banking on the idea that city would rather let him go out on loan, for free and paying 90% of his wages, than see him quit and lose any hope of a re-sale value come the end of the season. if cardiff go up, they could probably pay a couple of million for him.

wolfsburg? surely bayern munich or werder bremen would have him! theres got to be a few teams abroad who would have him? maybe part exchange for batelli could be on the cards??
really though cardiff on loan? would be incredible for cardiff.

Anybody else think the only reason Bellamy is playing in a friendly tonight is to put himself in the shop window so to speak. Had he defo been in City's 25 man squad he would have pulled out by now.

Low. It won't be that easy against Luxembourg, even with Bellamy and Bale in the team.
I'd take a repeat of the 2-0 win the last time we played them in 2008.

Yeah thats harsh on Bellers, hes not as regular in friendlies as he used to be but he has turned up to some right dog-arse pointless games when others preferred to stay at home. I loved his commitment tonight, possibly my favourite player of all time and mostly because of his respect for international football. Absolute legend.

He certainly made a 'power play' tonight. He was bloody unstoppable in the second half.

Great for CCFC if they keep him all season and keep him fit; CCFC are nailed on for the Premier League if this goes through.
However, it's toys out of the pram again for Bellars and he's cutting his nose off to spite his face, no ambition left and too much money again.

I think this is good news for Wales as long as Bellamey doesn't get injured.
A fit, happy and confident Bellars would be a massive plus for the national team, doesn't matter what level he is playing at.

Good news for Cardiff. I expect they'll get promoted this year, provided Bellamy stays fit and the squad doesn't suffer from some kind of complacency now they have such a player.
