Was he there last night to offer his support? I heard he was around the set up before Belgium in September so?

Such a shame he won't play. Because Bale and Bellamy playing on the break gives us a chance in Croatia. Their defenders are slow.

Bellamy playing against Austria doesn't automatically mean he'll be available against Scotland and Croatia. Fingers crossed.
But I agree, if both Bellamy and Bale start against Scotland, that's great news.

Bellamy played friendly v Luxembourg in 2010, but not the Bulgaria / Switzerland qualifying double header... Bellamy played friendly v Bosnia in 2012, but not the Belgium / Serbia or Scotland / Croatia double headers... CB admitted himself a few weeks ago that he was taking one game at a time when it comes to Wales. If he starts at Hampden Park I'll be delighted of course.

I had no doubt he was coming back. He loves playing for Wales. Think he's genuinely found it hard to deal with the post-Speed situation, and he doesn't seem close to Coleman, however Bellamy will always turn up for Wales if he's fit regardless of who's manager.
He loves some attention and persisted with the 'I'm not sure about my international future' line for a while, but deep down he knew he wasn't finished with Wales. If fit he'll be playing in Swansea next week, and Hampden in March. He'll keep going for as long as possible.
He knows he's closing in on Deano's 75 caps (3rd highest tally), and for someone who's had as many injuries, finishing behind Southall (92) and Speed (85) would be an incredible achievement and shows how much playing for Wales means to him.
Can't say I love the man, but love Bellamy the player (although disappointed he didn't turn down Team GB last year!)

Good to read those comments by Bellamy.
Very similar to comments he made in the South Wales Echo after the Olympics in August: "I'm a great believer in the game retiring you, not you retiring yourself. If I packed it in, I would probably miss it and want to come back, so I keep the door open."

I rememeber a while back we had a little game: how many caps/goals will Bellamy finish with for Wales?
I was probably the most optimistic in going for 69 caps (can't remeber if anyone said more?) Anyway, he's already beaten that, so my revised guess is 77 caps (another 7) and 22 goals (another 3)

I've stated twice on here that I thought we'd seen the last of him. Earlier this season and around the time that Flynn was in caretaker charge. I was wrong on both occasions and his interview yesterday was impressive. So I will no longer doubt him, though I disagree with how he has managed the speculation on both occasions. I've learned my lesson to no longer doubt his commitment. Hopefully it will set an example to others

I was 50/50 whether we would see Bellers wearing the red of Wales again until he announced his intention to carry on.
This is fantastic news not just cause he is still a great player but it will also encourage the younger players to commit to playing for the county for many many years hopefully.
2013 hopefully should be a fresh start (so to speak) and push for France 2016. From here on in every match is important to gain points in the rankings to push for a higher seeding for that qualifying campaign especially as it's expanded to 24 teams. 3rd pot is defo achievable.
Bellers would still be at the ripe old age of 36 if we reached Euro 2016!!!

Honestly thought we'd seen the last of him. Glad to be wrong. Hopefully Cardiff can go up so he's only playing one game a week next season.

Bellamy's attitude to the Wales team seems to vacillate in synch with his hormonal cycle. If this is this month's stance then great for now, he is one player we seriously cannot do without but I can't imagine it will be too long before the grumblings start once again.

Before anyone jumps to conclusions about the FAW's "insensitivity" based on those Bellamy quotes, I'd urge you to read page 356 of his book.
Yes - Bellamy is critical of the FAW - but it's part of two paragraphs about "the succession" - about how most of the players wanted Raymond Verheijen to stay in a senior role with Wales. Quote direct from GoodFella "I found the FAW's insensitivity strange. They didn't seem to understand that a tragedy like that heightened players' loyalty to the regime Speedo had represented".
Verheijen's not mentioned at all in the Wales Online article though, when it you read the book it's the failure to retain Verheijen that's at the heart of his concerns with how FAW dealt with things.

I'm glad we didn't keep Verheijen, Coleman was the right decision and we needed to move on from the Gary Speed era.
Bellamy will be a big loss as a player and he's served us well except for playing for Team GB, that's pissed me off.
I wonder how he'll be replaced, there's a number of options - Taylor, Davies, Robson-Kanu, Joniesta or Collison out wide maybe. The emerging Chris Dawson might be ready to play for us by the Euro 2016 campaign, and Emyr Huws, Jake Cassidy and others I'm sure.
