Since the takeover? None. Why? Because they weren't good enough.
To play for Manchester City, you need to have elite level ability; if Huws has that or develops that, he will play, irrespective of the manager. If not, he won't.

Good luck to the lad. Hope he gets some playing time out there. He's one of only three youngsters chosen to go out there so they must think he's pretty decent. As you said hopefully he'll get some playing time!!

Emyr Huws debut appearance for Man CIty in 4 - 3 win over Chelsea in USA This reads nicely doesn't it?!! "City pressed on in search of the equaliser and finally got it seven minutes from time after Huws won back possession in the final third, finding Tevez who played it in for Dzeko to sidefoot past the helpless Blackman."

He was at fault for the 3rd chelsea goal but he's a neat little player by the looks of it!

Maybe Swansea or Cardiff should try to get him on a season loan? Or maybe he will get an opportunity at Man City?

Almost certain to go out on loan this season I would have thought. Swansea would be a good shout I think in terms of playing style and opportunity plus he's a Llanelli lad isn't he?

A loan move to a decent championship side is the most likely. I can't see Cardiff signing anyone who isn't tried and tested in the premiership, they are also more likely to sign Scottish players, so watch out for Shaun Moloney.

Didn't Swansea & city fall out over the signing of him?
&
Cardiff could loan him, he wouldn't be a risk at all. He doesn't take up any spots as far as the squad rules are concerned and they probably won't be paying any money.

Emyr Huws - Manchester City Lloyd Isgrove - Southampton Tom Lawrence - Manchester United George Williams - Fulham Have all had good pre-seasons so far! Emyr Huws and Lloyd Isgrove impressing the first team and could possibly play a few Premier League games next season. George Williams is a striker and scores goals for fun, Tom Lawrence is also a striker/attacking midfielder and scored a winner for the Manchester Utd B team last week.

I expect Emyr Huws to do well this season, maybe he'll be loaned out to a lower league club. Can't see him making his debut for us in this current campaign but he could be included in the senior squads a few times maybe.
We actually have a really strong U21 squad, Danny Ward, Adam Henley, Kieron Freeman, Joe Walsh, Jonathan Meades, Lee Lucas, Paul Dummett, Emyr Huws, Tom Lawrence, Henry Jones, George Williams, Ellis Harrison, Jake Cassidy and I've obviously missed loads of other players...

A lot of those 21s would benefit from a campaign together at that level and look to progress en bloc, like a lot from the last crop. That way they develop a bond and cohesion that comes from competitive football. There's no need to rush any players through to the full squad, particularly midfielders; they need to play

There are those you expect to see that haven't even made the "on standby" list. Do clubs have a greater say at this age, or is that sometimes we'd rather a player stay with his club if the player feels he has a chance to potentially play some minutes and get further chances?

Hope he doesn't waste the season stuck in the Development squad at Man City. If he's as good as we hope he needs to be playing championship football, can't understand why he hasn't gone out on loan yet.
When is the loan deadline

He must be the best youngster city have because he was the only one on the bench. It looks like he's a holding midfield player, hopefully he becomes a star.

He was waiting to come on and Clive Tyldesley firstly got his name wrong (thought he was a young player called Lopez and then said "it's good to see a local lad coming through and making the first team" - before realising he sounded like a complete twat and said that he was with Swansea until he was 14.

He will surely play from the start against West Ham in the second leg followed by a loan spell in the championship

Great to see the amount of tweets about him last night. Even the PE Department at Ysgol Strade acknowledged him, which made my day!
Hope Welshiron is right!

Yeah, really hope he can do it. I mean:
Ramsey - Arsenal Bale - Real Madrid Huws - Man City
Doesn't get too much bigger than that!

Great that he's got his debut, but City has got to be the worst club in England for a player to break through in. Unless he's absolute dynamite and can displace a £30m player, the sooner he moves the better.

Inb4 trendy says he should sign for a European team ;D
I actually think he should stay at city for the time being. He's a young lad who is on the fringes of the first team a tacking with the options that they have- that's pretty impressive and he must be rated there.
He can afford to give it a couple of seasons and see how things go. Toure ain't getting any younger so perhaps he will be brought in on a job share to cover for toure in some of the more routine fixtures. That seems plausible to me.
Just as long as he doesn't turn out like cleverly who only started making regular first team appearances in his mid 20s!

I notice llannerch is staying away from this thread so far - but then according to him "Huws would be a cheap cap" (sic).
Huws has been training with, and part of the Man City first team squad all season.....with Yaya Toure and co.
The thing is, if we can give identified quality young players like Huws, Lawrence and Wilson additional exposure this will help them break through at established clubs in the top flight....it works both ways for the player concerned....and importantly gives them the confidence they are good enough.

You think he will "share the duties with Toure"? No offence to the lad, I hope he turns out a superstar but lets be realistic, he came on in the FA Cup against Blackburn at home when they were what? 4-0 up, I would be surprised if you see him make a sub appearance in the league this year, as I said no offence to him. Someone pointed out earlier in the thread, City is not the right club for players who are trying to grow and mature, unless your worth £40m already you wont get played. When city were taken over by the oil baron or whatever he is, the only two players who are still there and playing first team football are Micah Richards and Joe Hart, everyone else has been brought in from other clubs, notice how there not many youth players breaking through. He would be better off leaving them, maybe go back to Swansea, a good place to learn your trade.
