I would pick Ben Davies ahead of Taylor all day long. There was a reason he kept Taylor out of the side.
Taylor has been poor in the campaign for Wales so far, caused the problems in Andorra and could easily have been sent off in the other games.
Personally, I wouldn't pick Davies at centre half, if we go for a back 3 I would be inclined to play Collins with Williams and Chester or if a left sided player was required I would go for Dummett.

Should be starting for Wales, if only for that cross he put on a plate for Bale v Andorra. Is his crossing normally as good as that? Could do with more of the same. To add to that, he has the engine what Taylor had before the horrible leg break against Sunderland. Can not deny on the evidence of last Sunday's game that 1 of them is streets ahead of the other - for me Tottenham got a bargain.. Shall give you guys a clue, it's not Taylor either.

Looks like he'll be following in the foot steps of a certain Mr Bale by going to a league cup final in his first spurs season. Hopefully there'll be a different outcome in the final if he does make it! Winning 2 league cups before the age of 22... that'd be something!

Starts for Spurs against Man U today. Was he rested for the last game? I suspect he's now Pochetino's choice for LB.

.... back on the bench for Rose! Seems the manager can't make his mind up and is rotating them as games come thick and fast. Maybe I can help. Davies is a defender and Rose is a short, journeyman, who is a midfielder, but one who is not good enough to play in the Premiership. Why on earth is he trying to convert him into a defender! The manager should make his mind up and back one of them 100%. Every games I have seen Davies play for Spurs, he has been very solid - just the kind of player they could do with!

It's rotation, rather than indecision. Wait until the holiday period is over.

Think like Trendy said it's rotation from Pochettino - Ben should be in the side again Monday against Burnley in the Cup.

Is it me or do Spurs concede way fewer goals when Davies is selected ahead of Rose?

Is it me or do Spurs concede way fewer goals when Davies is selected ahead of Rose? Nah, it's not just you Trendy. Pity that Ben shall come in to the side against Fiorentina on Thursday in the Europa League, before making way for Rose in the League Cup Final Sunday. Praying that it dawns on Poch soon and Ben can have a run in the side.

Don't know the stats but Spurs do look a bit more defensively solid with Davies in the team when I've seen them this season. Rose scores a few goals for a full back though, which helps his cause. Interesting week for Spurs and Davies, with the Europa league 2nd leg followed a few days later by the legaue cup final...

It's pretty baffling. I think Davies should see this season out and reassess in the summer.

Modern fullbacks all called on to attack more than ever. Rose is better than Davies in this department. Pochetino's stats tell him Spurs are more likely to win games with Rose in the team than Davies. Not that baffling.

Do you think Pochetino and his staff pick players on a whim, or do they study relentlessly the stats of their players contributions? I don't know the stats, think that might be up to you to find if you want to prove a point. What I do know is that Rose's stats will be against the likes of Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, with Davies' being against the likes of Rochdale, Partisan, Artesas and whoever else Spurs have been playing against in their cup competitions.

I dont think he means best LB in England, I think he means England's best LB. I would say both Taylor and Davies are better than him, and Dummett ain't far off either. As for the rest of the LBs in the BPL, I can't think of loads who are better than him.

Plenty of people with Welsh goggles on here. Rose is a quality attacking fullback who is keeping Davies out of the Spurs team. Davies can't offer what Rose can going forward. There may be an argument that Davies is more solid defensively, but the top teams need fullbacks who can bring goals and assists.
