Ben is already looking to the future by taking his badges, very intelligent lad who could take any route in the game, whether it's club management or being involved in the business side. I think Bellamy could have such a profound impact on Welsh football if his progressive ideas get taken up by the likes of Gunter, Davies & Ramsey post retirements. The way we become the next "Croatia" is by learning to play on the front foot and hopefully this inspires us for the next generation of coaches/players

Wasn’t in Spurs matchday squad yesterday and looking at the FAW Twitter, he arrived on camp before/during Spurs’ match.

I do think the calls for him to be permanent skipper need to stop, unless he moves on from Spurs and starts playing some regular football. At present he's no better than any of our goalkeepers...

Wasn’t in Spurs matchday squad yesterday and looking at the FAW Twitter, he arrived on camp before/during Spurs’ match. players are asked to arrive in camp from mid afternoon, tweeted around 6:30 he was in camp, would have therefore arrived in camp earlier than that some players arrived this morning, 1st full training for the squad is this afternoon

Apart from the fact that he's just simply better, and has more career appearances than Ward and Darlow combined. I agree that our captain should probably be a first team regular, but in that case Ampadu is the only real choice, and I think it would be a bit strange making Ampadu permanent captain right now ahead of Davies and Ramsey.

I think the whole fuss about who the permanent captain is quite pointless. The fans put way too much emphasis on it, as Bellamy alluded to in one of his first interviews. It doesn't really matter. Leaders will lead on the pitch, whoever wears the armband.

Leaders will lead on the pitch, whoever wears the armband. You'd want to pick someone who is authoritative with good awareness and communication skills if the trend that only captains can speak to the referee continues.

Came on around the 50th min tonight after Romero and Van Der Ven came off injured. The stakes were high with Spurs 2-1 up against Man City, and they managed to see it out with Davies making a couple of important defensive contributions. Might get a couple more games now before Turkey…

And from what I've seen, Spurs' fans generally happy and thankful for his contribution which they haven't been of late.
Looks like VDV had a hamstring issue so could be out for a while.

Romero off with an injury & Davies comes on at LCB. With Van De Ven also out for a few weeks Ben may get a little run in the team in the lead up to the internationals

And sets up the decisive 2nd goal with a fantastic tackle on half way.

Think he will become our record cap holder, and will hold the record until Ampadu breaks it
Doesn't get talked about enough for me, will also probably be our record appearance maker at tournaments if we qualify under Bellamy. Never has a bad game, always shows up and leads by example, and never ever takes the spotlight. Welsh legend imo

I hope Spurs fans start appreciating him, they've consistently moan about how he's not a top 6 player and needs to be replaced. Despite a number of signings in defence over the years, Ben is still there, outlasting others who have been sold on. Shows just how good he is.
Even after recent performances you still get comments like: 'He's the perfect squad player...', It's crazy because Davies in his prime wasn't even that good'. They've never really thought of him as a starting player, winds me up.
He's out of contract in the summer so it will be interesting to see if they offer him a new one.
I hope he plays for us for a good while yet. 31 now, has at least another 6 years in him hopefully.

He’ll probably play international football for another 3-4 years, so with a bit of luck that will be another 30 caps (potentially a bit more) taking him up to >120 caps. Not too shabby!
I was actually a bit concerned that he was starting to drop off with some poor cup performances for spurs and a couple of poor games for us (Iceland away predominantly). But he was fantastic in the most recent double header and seems to have taken that form into the premier league

Stating that Ben is not a top 6 player when they themselves are hardly a top 6 club. They’ll be sorry when he’s gone.

I have probably said it before, but he's the most underrated player I've ever known, Spurs fans have shown what they are with the treatment of Brennan Johnson, and Ben is vastly under appreciated by fans and the media pundits.
