Big call from Page tonight to bring him in instead of Wilson, I hope it pays off, I'm a little unsure about Allen and Morrell in the middle of the park against the number one ranked country in the world with an almost 100% qualification record for their last three qualifying campaign but fingers crossed we get the job done and Joe plays his part.

Really impressed with him tonight, did the basics very well and justified his selection. He didn't look at all out of place and complimented others around him.

Thought he played as well as he could tonight. His booking was deserved cos he was about 3 minutes late making the tackle but apart from that he deserves a pat on the back.

Fully agree, thought he was very shakey at the beginning but did not go missing and got a lot better as the game went on.

He did really well today. Being harsh I think the suspension is fine. The Nations similar to us I'd rather see Wilson in the middle, but we could need him in the final if we play someone strong.

His best performance against top opposition for sure.

Look he is average and was out of position a couple of times but he gave his all and contributed. I just think we need a more physically imposing holder like Ampadu in the middle of the park and see Morrell as a deputy for Allen ideally. We are too small in that position

He's used to a completely different style of football, on a weekly basis, with Portsmouth. He's gone from that to playing against some genuinely World Class players tonight who have experience playing with and against the very best. Such a step up will see him out of place at times and unable to always read what they're going to do but he bridged that gap somewhat with steely determination and some sensible decisions when on the ball. I've been critical of his inclusions over others in the past but I thought he did us proud tonight and probably deserves a 7 out of 10 for his contribution.

Pay no mind, they're entitled to their opinions but they're obviously dead wrong and are only making fools of themselves.

He did very well - visible annoyed / upset at being booked since he knew he's miss the play off semi final - but carried on to hep get us there. Let's get to the final to have him back available (if not straight back in the starting 11).

I liked how upset he looked at getting booked only to then get straight back into the job in hand and shut a Belgian player down seconds later, can never criticise Joe for effort and although I've talked about his limitations in the past I can't say I've ever watched him in a Wales shirt and felt that he's let us down. He can be proud of what he's achieved at International football, Giggs and Page seem to have a lot of faith in him.

Cracked me up when the commentators on S4C started laughing when he had that shot from the edge of the box, I'm pretty certain they were laughing before he even connected!

"However, the Blues will adopt a wait and see approach for Joe Morrell, who had to sit out Saturday’s 1-0 win at Forest Green Rovers with a back injury – despite being named on the bench for the trip to Forest Green."
If it carries on like this, we will soon be calling up Joe Ledley ;-)

To be honest i really hoped the 2016 members, like Wayne, Neil, Joe Ledley, Chester, HRK, Vokes, could play in a WC… maybe rather 2018 + 2016 both group stage exit.. It was a easy group, we should hv at least qualified for the playoffs as a seeded team and would have probably qualified should we not be drawn against Denmark or Sweden. Coleman’s conservation let us down. We were leading Serbia by a goal in both legs, and ended up 1-1, both equalised by Mitrovic. Same against Austria—twice leading by a goal, leading Georgia by a goal and somehow forced to a draw by the minnow team. at the end, we were forced to win ireland at home to finish as the top 8 2nd place. Bale was injured, we had no offensive game, and AW’s mistake means we were already out 20 mins before the end of the match. Thats why I want Gunter to come off the bench/start the final match if we are out early, and Wayne at least starts the tournament vs USA, especially considering how magnificent he was for our qualification.

Joe Morrell on from the bench for Portsmouth. A potential starter for us in Qatar is on the bench in League One. It's a little worrying, spirit and togetherness will only get you so far, we really need some quality in the middle of the park or at least players that can play above themselves when in a Wales shirt playing for their clubs.

He has had a back injury and they are nursing him back gently so that he plays more for Portsmouth and Wales.

Have long been a fan of his, had many a discussion on here when people have dissed him, he does the simple things which it has to be said very few today could manage.

Does anyone else think that Joe Morrell wouldn't look out of place in a side like Swansea?
