He hasn't looked great at all in his games so far to be honest.
Hopefully its because of the injury and lack of pre-season or bad tactics.

He shouldn't have played for us and he shouldn't have played so quickly for Madrid.

Madrid now say he'll play for them this weekend. No harm done.

His back can't be too bad, he flew home and back for the afternoon the other day for his daughter's birthday party. Chartered his own plane apparently. If it was anything like my kids' parties his back would have got a pounding

Hopefully he will be fit to play against Finland and the FAW can market the game and get a decent crowd there.
Also, A Williams, Allen and Davies should be back

If he's fit enough he should definitely start. Barca are so open to the counter and there's no one better to take advantage.
No better team for him to start showing Madrid fans what he can do.

He looked lost when he came on against Juve, hopefully if he plays against Barca he has a good game as if not his confidence will be tested and it will become harder and harder for him.
That being said he has so much ability it will only be a matter of time
Not sure we will see him against Finland

He really has looked lost so far. 4 attempted passes against Juve 0% complete says it all. Just read the interview with Fabregas in the guardian and he said its harder to shine as an individual in Spain than it is in England. Hopefully Bale manages to shine.

Just to note, I called him flopping before he moved to Madrid. Hope he returns to form, but the expectations, and now the added negative pressure from the media will work against him. Said it before and ill say it again, what an awful move.

Early days yet. It will just take one great match to have everyone purring again.
What's interesting about the Clasico is that Bale started as a central striker/false nine, as some have suggested for him on here. It was disasterous and after 20 mins he was moved out right. We shall have to keep an eye on what position Real use him in, although I suspect Bale's future is NOT up front.

The former is no striker.

Well hopefully it will be the latest test for him, one which he will eventually overcome. His and Ramsey have shown such resilience to overcome setbacks in the past. If they (and others - such as Joniesta) continue to do so then it will be great for their mental strength and will hopefully give us that belief which helps us qualify. Bale has basically made things more difficult for himself than he needed to by showing his loyalty to Wales; when he could have been focusing on regaining his fitness.

His club form will have no effect on his international form, it hasn't in the past. The English media want him to fail, they can't stand seeing a working class Welshman enjoying any kind of limelight - or worse, earning a City banker-size salary. A salary earned because he has real, internationally acknowledged ability.

Just to note, I called him flopping before he moved to Madrid. Good for you. He will become a player they count on, a leader in the changing room and on the pitch.

2 goals and 2 assists. Could have had a hat-trick if Ronaldo had let him take the penalty at 2-0. Not a bad night's work!

watched the game, I thought he was the best player on the pitch, certainly the most dangerous, I am now convinced he we be a massive success after that performance., he now has his fitness and confidence back and he will be huge for them.
