Darcy Blake again ? Surely he's better than Merthyr?? Doubt he's got the professionalism to get a place in our squad.

Hope Liverpool move for Poole does not happen.Chances of success for him would be remote not to mention Rodgers not exactly helping Wales last 2 years with Wilson & Williams.Better off going to a Fulham,Derby or Birmingham as not half the competition there.

Butcher has almost completely cleaned out the squad.
As for Darcy I think he's had his chance at Newport and blown it. I certainly wouldn't want him back now.
Tancock did ok with us on loan and Loveridge didn't really shine at all. He played on the wing and it didn't seem to suit him.
The wages budget is down 30% this year so I'm guessing Butcher thought get rid of all the lads whose wages have risen over recent successful years and start again.
I'm not expecting Butcher would want a team of released kids but he may have to take this.
I'm not hopeful at all for next season.
Regan Poole still has one year of a scholar's contract left and we've already turned down 60k from Fulham. Whatever we get offered I get the feeling it will less than £100k which will get swalowed up in the wages bill pretty quickly.
Good luck to Regan though.

You could say that with many clubs! Wilson has a huge future at Liverpool they rate him very highly! And Williams was on the bench a number of times before going out on loan and doing well! How many Welsh youngsters getting a looking elsewhere? Everton ? No! Cardiff? Definitely not! Swansea? No! Can't all walk into teams

Good luck to Regan though. So how good is Poole? And how good can he become? He doesn't stand out as talent when compared to the others we got/had. He doesn't stick out as young player that gets pushed around either. He looks as good as anyone around him and at 16 and playing CB in a rough and tumble division that's a good thing. Most league Two CBs are stoppers only, hardly any culture and for me he hasn't shone as being technical gifted yet. Things may be different in his age group, who knows? Keep or sell? I'd keep him for NCFC, does the job well enough and we wont get a transfer fee substantial enough to make any difference to our finances.

He'll buy whoever can do the best job for them. English, Scottish, Welsh or Martian.
Out of curiosity, when was the last time an all or mostly-Welsh XI did well? Cardiff's recent success was based on Scottish & English players, and their famed 1927 side only had 3 Welsh players in it, and Swansea's meteoric rise was on the back of Spanish players and with a sprinkling of English and Welsh players.

Gonna be a nail biting last game. Anyone familiar with the number of Welsh lads on their books? Owen-Evans surely?

Plenty of Welsh boys in the squad including one on loan from Swansea, Alex Samuel, who looks a prospect.
Josh Sheehan was also impressive (again on loan from Swansea) before getting injured and returning to his parent club.
The Academy side have also won their league this season, and there are a lot of Premiership clubs sniffing around those lads as a result.
7,500 tickets sold for Saturday's game against Notts County. Fingers crossed we can fall over the line as relegation would be disastrous for us at the moment. The WRU are in the midst of trying to takeover the Dragons / Newport RFC, and if we were to go down it is likely they'd be looking to force us out one way or another.

Have a feeling that Owen-Evans was born in Bristol, but he came through our academy and with a name like that must surely have some Welsh blood in him! By far the most improved player this season since he's beefed up. Quite tenacious and has an eye for getting in the box and trying his luck. Wouldn't be surprised if he keeps improving and gets a move up the leagues in the next year or two.

I think it's the best outcome for Wales, they have overachieved i feel, If they didn't win today i don't think they could of done it next year but i think Wrexham can. I even think they'll win the league next year, soon we will have 4 league teams URGHHHHH! As a plus side, we're apparently gaining the services of Carl Darlington for next season. I think Hartlepool will look strong in the national league next season so I'm hoping they'll stay up. Can't see it however and Flynn's done a magnificent job at Newport.

Yes, it sold out this afternoon. We'd have probably got 10,000 in if H&S regulations hadn't reduced capacity.
