83k at England match tonight, that’s incredible!! Definitely an amazing attendance but as a proportion of population our attendance last night was bigger and for a friendly no less. Good performance last night, chuffed for Cain getting her first goal and Fishlock was quality. NI were very poor but we took our chances, which isn't always the case. Ymlaen!

Am loving seeing Welsh women team sports (football and rugby) materially improve with a bit of investment. Good to see the world wake up! Being the dad of an 11 year old daughter I am hoping this window of opportunity towards equality gets smashed down altogether in the next 20 years! At the end of the day sport is about passion and entertainment and if you invest in anything then you usually get a decent return / improvement.
Now there are 4 decent senior football and rugby teams for me to support, all fighting against the numerical odds but with the same passion and will to win!

It's brilliant, also I know it's a team sport but in boxing Lauren Price is flying the flag very well for Wales, she's a class act.

Absolutely and hailing from Ystrad Mynach which is just down the road from where I grew up in Bargoed/Brithdir! Goodness we could go on about cycling, darts, etc, too! We do amazingly well at sport for what is a tiny country on the map in population terms

The fitness of Ceri Holland is incredible. She was sprinting around closing down right at the end. How is that even possible. Wish she had just a bit more composure / vision then she would be an excellent player.
By contrast Ingle was done by the end!
Fishlock is like Bale - she is carried by the team in the hope she'll get one moment to produce something special.
Feels like we just need a bit more energy in midfield but I guess there is no competition for James at the moment.
This team have drawn away to Portugal and Switzerland in normal time and were within a wisker of drawing away to France. The amount they have put in to compete against teams they would be expected to really struggle against is incredible. They simply never drop their heads, give up and feel sorry for themselves do they! I so hope they get qualified as they so deserve it!

Really good performance again last night, we have a real chance of qualifying for the next Euros if we continue on this trajectory. Hats off to Grainger and the team.
See we've just announced an away friendly with the US as well, that'll be a good test for us and a measure of how far we've come.

Its a real shame we didn't qualify for the WC finals, recent performances have shown we can be competitive against the best.
If its any consolation we have a very attractive fixture confirmed this summer:

Good news today with Leicester beating Liverpool 4-0 taking them out of the relegation spot
Josie Green and Jones scored the first 2 with Hannah Caine assisting, with Jones and Caine the creative players of the team
Can only be good for us if all 3 are still playing in the WSL next season. We also have at least 3 Welsh women coming into the WSL next year with Bristol City, one of which is a starter and another who has made big impacts off the bench. Olivia Clark is their back up goalkeeper and seems to have been given the first choice goalkeeper shirt for us over O'Sullivan

So it's Germany, Denmark and Iceland. Would be great to see another record crowd for the Germany game, Euro finalists and one of the top teams in the world.

Surprised theres not a lot of talk about the USA game tonight.
Im actually looking forward more to this than some of the recent men’s games.
Are the USA the no1 ranked team now? Bit worried that this could be completely one sided this one.

Watched the last 30 mins and it was backs against the wall type performance. Wales had no outlet and midfield and defence looked weak at times.

Great performances overall.
However the ref was clearly under instruction to let everything go for the yanks. Moore would have been red carded for that 'headbutt' in the first half, and don't get my started on the barge before the second goal/
Shame to ruin a decent game with biased shite reffing.

Context: USA team deep into their warm-up for the World Cup play Cymru/Wales in San Jose heat (first game outside of Europe for us) with several players not starting their pre-season yet and also missing Ingle and Fishlock. It was also noted by commentary team that our two tallest players are average size in USA squad.
Defence was strong in first half but, maybe to be expected given the context, it was such a struggle going forward and in the end it could have been more than two.
A really good experience, I'm sure, but there's so much room to grow still.

Totally agree - the men could take a leaf out of their book from the perspective of energy levels, never giving up and chasing for every ball - a really refreshing performance from the women, who were unlucky in the end to lose by two goals.

Thank the lord Wales didn’t beat a very poor Switzerland to reach the World Cup finals , Spain absolutely destroyed the Swiss so Christ knows how Wales would have got on The gap between the Elite nations ie England, Spain etc is huge , someone tell Mooney stop ploughing money in !!
