I don't know much about girls football in Georgia, but you have to say 21-0 is an incredible result. Georgias not exactly San Marino or Andorra either- it has a bigger population than Wales and didn't they (the full mens team I mean) beat us 5-0 back in the mid-90's?!
Apparently, that's the biggest victory in Welsh football history. Well done girls!

The captain of the Wales Under 19s was on Good Morning Wales this morning (just before 7am). She admitted that the team were sharing the goals around by the end.
Two more matches this week- Slovenia today and France on Thursday.

Georgia have got to play France next, who are U19 European champions. It'll be interesting to see what the score is in that game...

only 11-0! So we're 10 goals better than the European champions- tidy! (however, we only beat Slovenia 4-2 today- boring!)

Wales qualify for the elite round of qualifying, with matches in March and April 2011.
Wales v France will decide who wins the group (I assume a win needs we'll be seeded in the next round).

They scored goals in the 93rd, 94th and 95th minutes. So they must have literally scored, won the ball straight from the kick-off, gone up the other end and scored......twice!

Wales has won the bid to host the Women's Euro Under 19 Championship next summer. As you all know, we missed out on the bid for the Men's Under 21 finals, but this is a chance to show that Wales can do football tournaments, and do them well.
The FAW are looking for volunteers, everything from drivers to programme sellers to guides for the visitors from the 7 other nations who'll contest the finals. I think the last 17 days has shown how a good team of volunteers can make a real difference to people's perceptions of an event.
Also, the record crowd for a match in these finals is 8,000 for Macedonia v Spain a couple of years ago. Wales will have three home group games. Wouldn't it be great if we could break the attendance record. Hopefully we can use this board, Twitter, the various Facebook groups and Wales Away mailing list to spread the word about the tournament and encourage the Welsh public to support the tournament. It would be great if The Barry Hornes, The Dragon Has Landed, Gol, Wales Supporters Team, etc. all organised events around the games.
Venues have to be within a small geographical radius. FAW have submitted six possible venues, including Liberty Stadium, Parc Y Scarlets and grounds in Bridgend and Carmarthen, but UEFA get final say.
UEFA had a free tickets policy for this Year's tournament in Turkey, so this will be a great chance to get families along to see international football. The Olympics showed there was an interest in watching non-home nations play in women's football, so hopefully all the matches will be well supported. A successful tournament would really help a future bid for the Men's Euro U21 tournament, which I know we all want to see here.

Not sure of the dates yet - I'm sure UEFA will confirm dates soon - Turkey hosted the tournament in July.

One Wales fan on Facebook says Wales "will never get anywhere near 8,000 crowds" for their three European Championship matches. Let's prove him wrong. Also a few people on Facebook saying there's "no interest in women's football in Wales". Except we've recently seen a crowd of 24,000 for Japan v South Africa Women in Cardiff. Surely we can make over 8,000 if Wales are in action.

My missus' dad is reffing a couple of games. Have been looking forward to it for a while as a good way of introducing my daughter to a proper footie game as opposed to on the telly.
