Let's be honest; We'd slaughter an English player over this, why does Wayne get to move on so easily? It was silly and misjudged, he should have come out and officially apologised for being an idiot (blame alcohol, most people do), and the club should fine him.

Wales should weigh in too, it doesn't fit with the new kumbaya image the FAW want to promote.

He's an international footballer however, so more is to be expected of him. Ashley Cole never played for England again after chatting shit on twitter, and I'm not suggesting that's what we should do, but the FAW should take some stance regardless.

Pity he wasn't goose-stepping as well. He might have got away with claiming it was his Basil Fawlty impression.

Maybe you should write to the FAW suggesting they do something to punish Wayne if you are so upset by it.

I would have thought the FAW had the decency to say something without being forced to in an instance like this, especially seeing as witch hunts against antisemites are now rife.

I seriously doubt Wayne is an anti-semite and I'd prefer if this forum wasn't used to suggest that.

In the super-duper offended world today though, there will be suggestions of this from rabble rousers, and I'd like to see the FAW snuff it out from the get-go.

Ridiculous excuse. This would blow over quicker if he said he did it as a private joke and apologised. Everyone will weigh in on this for days to come.
It always amazes me that people in the public eye aren’t more intelligent when it comes to these situations. He’s not an apprentice builder on his mates Snapchat, he’s a professional footballer posing for a picture which will end up on social media.

I'm sorry Hennessey's excuse is up there (or is it down there?) with the person who turns up at A&E with a root vegetable stuck up their arse claiming they were doing naked gardening and slipped.
Wayne needs to fess up, and after a while (and a hefty fine and grovelling apology) it will all be forgotten. As it is he's inviting ire and ridicule in equal measure. Not clever.

Am I the only one that accepted his explanation as being the truth? No. You are not.
Sometimes I despair. I am confident that a large majority of people - without knowing who or what Wayne is - would believe his detailed and perfectly plausible explanation. Why on earth would Welsh football lovers not believe him?

Wayne on at half time. Needs to make that spot his again or Adam Davies will be our only keeper getting regular game time.

The FA - in their wisdom - have the burden of proof. Wayne does not need to prove a thing, to anyone. Innocent until proven otherwise. Full stop.

I wasn't specifically referring to Hennessey in my comment - just a general statement. Nevertheless, I accept he did it. I also accept that it was ill-advised and ill-judged. He should have been given a reprimand with a warning. Had he have repeated this behaviour, I'd say charge him. But an explanation and apology on this occasion should have been sufficient in my view.

Am I missing something here? A Nazi salute doesn't have a hand under the nose as Hennessey has. I always thought the version with the hand under the nose was a derogatory version.
