Definitely worth a banner with a pic of Andy and God Save the King on it.

Before Christmas somebody on this forum claimed to me that Emyr Huws should start ahead of Andy King in competitive games. Totally well-meaning and we need to give Huws game time in friendlies, but I'm glad King now has a medal to his name so people appreciate his quality more.

Adapt it when they pipe up with their dirge during the match - that will really piss them off. Risky- European media might assume we're singing GSTQ.

If King had been an instrumental player to Leicester's season, on the pitch anyway, I would agree with you. Yes he's scored 3 goals and made many appearances but half of these appearances have been off the bench and the games he has started a lot have been through injury/suspension to other players. Don't get me wrong he deserves a medal and well done to him, but he isn't on the same level as Allen, Ramsey and potentially Huws.

I'd still play Huws, J Williams and Ledley ahead of King. Maybe Edwards too

Was that King's best performance in a Welsh shirt? I can't think of a better one - shame that his beauty of a strike just flew past the post.
His closing down was better than normal - much more energetic, and his pass to Gunter in the first half was probaly the pass of the night (vying with Bale's cross for the opener).

Closing down better = Ranieri telling him he has to learn because Kante is gone

Very solid tonight Only wish he would have done the same v Portugal

Yep, best game in a Welsh shirt by a country mile. Did a great job tonight, needs to bring that game against the top sides as well.

I was at the game and remember thinking he wasn't doing much, but I'll have to watch it back. He just doesn't seem to influence games enough for me, he doesn't look for the ball often enough and goes for the safe option too often. Maybe I'm being harsh here, I might have missed something which often happens when watching games live!

He usually goes missing for us, wasn't the case yesterday, actually was sat there thinking 'wow King is doing well' something I can't say I've thought before.

There was a purposefulness to his play - offensively and defensively - that has often been missing in the past. Too often it's been a case of Andy Who? - not last night.

One killer pass through to Gunter in the box in the first half should have resulted in more than a corner

I don't know what game is live on 'normal ' TV back home but here in Canada it's Leicester and king is having a Stormer. Morgan's hurt and king has made a few blocks / great tackles

Didn't watch the game (watched BT Sport's goals show instead), so don't know how well he played overall.
Not sure what Huw Davies' problem is, though?
Well, he plays for the champions of England, Huw. That's how.

Andy King starting again. This is his 11th start this season (plus 4 sub apps). That is already more than his total last season for them (9 starts + 16 as sub). In terms of actual EPL minutes played, he is already equaled his total last year, and its only 2 January!
I have never been a big fan of his, especially not in a Welsh shirt. Think he is a liability defensively and doesn't offer enough up front to justify dropping Rambo or Allen deeper.
Still, its good to have him playing regularly and at 28, he certainly still has another few years in him to develop, and then he might give Dave Edwards a reason to retire (a tender 31 year-old).

I reckon Leicester should look at getting Andy King back in their starting line up. Wasn't it King that scored some vital goals to keep them up two seasons ago? I don't care about Leicester as such, but we could end up having King playing some part against Ireland - a match fit King would be beneficial.

I thought he was superb last night, as was Dave Edwards - when King came on it gave Rambo the freedom he needed further forward.

I thought he looked rusty and short of games. Tactically a good move at HT and a move to a back 4 long overdue- teams have had a long time to work us out by now.

Agreed, though I was sure it would've been Ledley to come on but must be nowhere near fitness. King deserves his plaudits and did his job well, as did Edwards who put in a proper shift.

I've always been negative about King. He's more of an AM, or No10, so to play that holding defensive role on Saturday so well deserves a lot of credit. Hats off.
Edwards was even better.
They both proved a lot of doubters wrong.
