Surely then you don't want James on Davies' side? James is decent defensively so would surely be better served covering for the more attacking Neco? Davies as a pure defender can then cover Brennan Johnson This is 100% how it should be

Set to leave Lincoln this summer - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65547697""He wants to explore options at a higher level and we fully respect that," said Lincoln director of football Jez George." A Championship move in the pipeline? A brief look on the Lincoln forum and they're fairly certain he'll be Championship bound Cardiff could do with a versatile defensive option...

Would be shocked if we weren't near the front of the queue...unless we win the play-offs I suppose.

Ideal for Cardiff! Good move all-round. Although I do rate Ng highly so might be difficult to dislodge with them both being fairly similar in profile

Agree ideal for Cardiff, but would suit a number of Championship clubs. Think a move up on a free has been on the cards since last season. He's one who I've always wanted to see come in for Gunter's role in the squad, I think he'd be a very solid utility option, and he's clearly a leader given he was club captain at Lincoln

Signed for Portsmouth. Disappointing move. I was sure he'd be moving up to the Championship.

Another underwhelming move sadly.
I haven't seen one positive Welsh transfer yet......sign of the times.

Agreed, was hoping for a Lockyer to Charlton type move when he decided to run his contract down. Doesn't augur well if championship clubs aren't interested in signing him on a free. Would have thought he would have been a decent signing for Cardiff.

Would have been good to see him at an Ipswich, Plymouth or Coventry where bright manager and fewer obstructions to getting into the first team.
I suppose Regan is betting that Pompey could be this season's Plymouth or Ipswich? Pob lwc to him.

Would have thought he would have been a decent signing for Cardiff. Cardiff are absolutely desperate for centre halves and can’t pay transfer fees. This would have been ideal BUT it certainly doesn’t say a lot for Poole. Kinda get the feeling his career has been drifting for far too long now.

But a player presumably thinks about career prospects, bank balance, personal needs and there's a chance Pompey are on the way to Championship which means aged 26 he'll have reached that level at the right club for him. If we're glass half full people.

If we're glass half full people. For a supposedly bright new prospect in 2018 he left Man United and for the past 5 years as been playing lower league football. This was hopefully his chance ( he was a free agent) for a move to at least a championship club. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be. So his career continues to be in lower leagues with no Welsh Caps at the prime of his career. If you think it’s a great move for him then good for you I think it’s a pity that one of our brightest prospects several years ago still won’t have added to his Caps when he will be nearer 26/27 at his next move.

Good Welsh contingent at Pompey.
Poole, Morrell, Jewitt-White and Lowery. Hopefully they can push for promotion this year

League 1 could be quite open this year, so Portsmouth could end up being a good move for him

Well written article suggests he moved sideways not upwards. Within that article the following two points are made: I've been wrong before but I think: i) this is probably a better move than going to Championship club like Sheffield Wednesday who I think are a bit of a mess at the moment, ii) I am disappointed that he couldn't get move to a different Championship club more ready to shine a la Lockyer to Luton, iii) I don't think Regan is seeing this as a sideways move. We'll have to see what happens next.

Disappointing that a decent Championship club hasn't gone in for him. Cardiff would have been a great move imo. However, it is better for him to be at a promotion level club in League One than a relegation level club in the Champ
Will be keeping a close eye on Pompey this year. Hopefully someone from the FAW will go and look at Lowery/Poole given Morrell is there too

Glad that he's doing well, but unfortunately for him he's unlikely to jump ahead of Rodon, Lockyer, Mepham & Cabango whilst still in League One Although if any of those have injuries I'd happily call him up. In fact there's an argument to say he should be in the squad in Gunter's place as the utility defender given he can play CB in a two or a three and has played RB & RWB at club level

Playing as a centre back too which is good for us. It's a real shame that no championship club went in for him, although there's a decent chance he'll get there with Portsmouth. I'd like to see him called up as Lockyer's replacement and given a chance on Thursday
