What? Why? I hate all this we are doomed I've lost hope, its gunna be a disaster bolox. At the end of the day hardly any of us wanted speed to get the job, and we wanted him and Ray out after 3 games!! Give Coleman a chance I think he will do a decent job! It's the typical reaction I've seen for many years by not a majority but alot of welsh fans mate.

I was totally against Speed getting the job but I was completely proved wrong. I actually think Coleman could do a decent job for us and he will get my backing 100%.

i'm in that thread backing Speed too. as for whats changed since coleman was last touted as manager the answer is nothing, nothing has changed. Speed was only in the job for 12 months so when he passed away we were left with more or less the same candidates as last time. Coleman was obviously second choice to Speed and now that Speed isn't here they have gone for Coleman.

We have a real good squad right now with good backroom staff etc i think they are more important to us than any manager. Good backroom staff? ? Not now mate, Dutch Ray is going when everybody on here wanted him desperately to stay, now Coleman is going to be appointed it's like "We don't need Ray now" Mark my words Coleman is an awful coach as he was a player and the FAW are going to regret this appointment - this is going to be the start of player withdrawals starting with Ramsey from here on in!!! "If it ain't broke why fix it" was his comments on Sky!!!! It has already broke now Chris with Dutch Ray leaving!!!! Disaster time i'm afraid!!! The FAW never ever learn from past mistakes!!!

He hasn't even started the job yet and he has already deceived the players and the fans on Dutch Ray if these reports and ray's twitter is to be believed. It's a complete and utter disaster. Agree with Idiot - clashes, withdrawels and the like to ensue. How many hands as golden as this has a new welsh manager ever been dealt? Never as good in my memory and he will fritter it all away with alarming speed. RIP indeed.

agree totally!
Any manager needs the players on board to succeed and i think we've lost them before we have even started because of this.

“It’s a stupid man who goes in there and takes the job, whether it’s me or anyone else, and changes everything."

yeh but its speed, roden and now ray gone. Even after what all the players have said.
Ricketts was really bigging up ray on twitter last night and also williams asked for continuity but they have been ignored.

I see ya point mate but the players need to put up and shut up now and play for the country not throw the dummy because things have changed! We still have a great squad and a good chance of finally achieving something

yeh true but its just a different world now where players need to be molly cuddled as thats how they have been brought up within the youth set ups.
Its something speed talked about in his sports science analysis. Sad state though!

The press conference is truly depressing.
I would have thought they would have had the coaching set up agreed and in place before the press conference - they could have presented a unified front to progress everything forward - now the impending fall out between CC and RV will take place under the public gaze - he basically said KS will probably be coming in but he hasn't even spoken to RV yet!
Already, it's a complete shambles.

Dutch Ray is off on one of his many jaunts around the world doing conferences and guest speaking. Chris Coleman is in Wales speaking to the FAW about taking over the job.
I like Ray but if the two of them haven't spoken to each other then it's hardly Colemans fault.
"Hello Ray, yeah it's Chris. Chris Coleman. Yeah, we're doing a press conference today any chance you could come down to Cardiff instead of flying to Dubai?"
Not going to happen is it. Let's just wait for Dutch Ray to announce to the world whether he is or isn't still on board.

NJ, Baresi, like I said last week, I do not want Coleman as much as you do not, but all you can do is give him the support and lets see how it goes! Here's highlights of it's entirety. Begins from twenty two mins in. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUQC1WzT1mg

Congratulations to Chris Coleman on getting the job. I think Chris has got a great opportunity with the current squad. Using a horse racing phrase - "Good horses make good trainers." We've got the best squad of players that I can remember.
I hope we keep hold of Ray as it seems he has helped with players turning up, not withdrawing from squads etc, also the players seem to like him.

Nobody has mentioned Big Nev's interview on the Radio Wales phone-in, He said the FAW should have waited until at least AFTER the Costa Rica game to appoint a new manager, this game is to celebrate Gary Speed, why do we need a new manager anyway? (Nev's words) I totally agree with him

The more time the manager has with the players the better. We can't let the world pass us by while grieving for Speed. Coleman said himself that he will be in the background during the Costa Rica game.
Coleman wasn't my first choice, but whats done is done and we have to look forwards not backwards to what could have been.
