Great result tonight but again we let the opposition have too much ball and no closing down in dangerous areas. Matthews was immense at right back though and when we did have the ball we tried to play our way out which worked sometimes. Considering Ramsey didn't play at all, Bellamy subbed at HT Bale after an hour it gave a another chance for "fringe" players, thought Vokes did well for a while when he came on and not because he scored (which was a great goal BTW!!)
This hopefully will give confidence for the Jocks and Croatia games.
AND BIG THANKS TO BARRY HORNES!!!
Kids now want to go to matches now because of you lads!!! Keep it up boys!!!

Hear, hear, the Barry Horns were excellent again, and produced a good atmosphere, even watching on TV.

Fair play to Cookie. Can you imagine the fuss in the Western fail if Gatland or one of our egg chasers had done that?! There would probably be a special 24 page pull out section!

Indeed, but I suspect that the circumstances will draw a few barbed comments from his detractors! ;D

Indeed, but I suspect that the circumstances will draw a few barbed comments from his detractors! ;D I wonder if he asked her how we should set up tactically against Scotland? ;D No fair play, my estimation of him has gone up ever so slightly.

"So, love, I'll get you back to Haverfordwest, but before I do what do you think about me picking Ricketts in central defence"
"Well Mr Coleman I might not know where I am but even I know that the other ginger prick is a right liability"

Gary Speed Wales record.
Rep of Ire 3-0 Wales lost Wales 0-2 England lost Scotland 3-1 Wales lost N Ireland 0-2 Wales won Wales 1-2 Australia lost Wales 2-1 Montenegro won England 1-0 Wales lost Wales 2-0 Switzerland won Bulgaria 0-1 Wales won Wales 4-1 Norway won
10 Games. Won 5. Lost 5.
Chris Coleman Wales record.
Mexico 2-0 Wales lost Wales 0-2 Bosnia-Herzegovina lost Wales 0-2 Belgium lost Serbia 6-1 Wales lost Wales 2-1 Scotland won Croatia 2-0 Wales lost Wales 2-1 Austria won Scotland 1-2 Wales won
8 Games. Won 3. Lost 5.
I am not counting the Costa Rica game as it was a memorial game for Gary Speed and Cookie wasn't even suppose to act as 'manager' for that game.
1) Chris Coleman's opening games on a whole have been against tougher opposition, and under tougher circumstances due to the death of Gary Speed.
2) It was the 5th game under Speed (Australia) that we started to realize that we needed to give him time and maybe things were going to change for the better. Chris Coleman's 5th game was vs Scotland (home) a good solid win that we deserve. I think the Austria win (2-1) under Coleman is similar to the Montengro win (2-1) we had under Gary Speed.
I was guilty of slating Gary Speed straight away even after 4 games!! Learned from that to give a new manager time (especially with international football) It's why we should all support Chris Coleman and the team - let's get his name chanted around the stadium on Tuesday night.
Our performance against Scotland the other night was very encouraging, played some lovely passing football and the stats prove that we kept the possession well. Also other positives from the Scotland game:
- We won without depending on Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey ran the show I think.
- Jonny Williams is a special talent and brings a lot of quality into the side.
- Aaron Ramsey's selflessness at the end of the game by taking one for the team shows how much it means to him playing for his country.
- Players getting together after Robson-Kanu's winner, shows togetherness and passion.
- Players and Coleman at the end of the game coming over to applause the fans, Cookie knows how much the team means to us fans and he is truly a passionate manger.
Very excited for the Croatia game!!
;D ;D ;D ;D

loving the optimism but all we've really done is beat a weak scotland side twice.
Get some points against a stronger side now i.e croatia, the serbs or belgium and i'll be firmly in the Coleman camp. Here's hoping!

Here's hoping! True they're not a strong side, still not easy to go to Hampden and get 3 points though! especially with a few players out (Allen Matthews and sort of Bale) Macedonia and Serbia failed to beat Scotland at Hampden

I think helping that demented old lady find her way home was the turning point for Chris......like paul on the road to damascus. Classic! Must have been a karmic reaction - his good deed paid dividends. We should enroll Coleman in the Street Pastors, get him out on Friday nights in Bridgend helping the vulnerable for the sake of the national side.

I need somebody, HELP. not just anybody, Help, I need Chris Coleman, HELP... Chrisy Coleman, He was driving on one day, He saw an old lady; She was looking frail. But Chrisy Coleman, He stopped at what he saw, He picked the lady up, And opened her the door. (Yeah I don' think this will catch on...)
