I agree with what he said about Team GB, but it's still something the press would lap up as 'Nationalist Nonsence'. Every article we see on the matter has something like "The FAs are against the idea in fear it would jeopardise their identity, despite repeated assurances from FIFA". The "Do you trust FIFA" response from us is well reasoned, but not concrete. Why can't Coleman turn around and say, "Well how is the GB team going to qualify?" and then go through the whole U21 process. What answer could the press have then. The general public don't seem to know the facts. One chap on a facebook thread about TeamGB made the case stating that we never see Welsh players in top tournaments: LOL

BBC gossip column is reporting that Giggs and Coleman are in the frame to replace Guidolin at Swansea.
This will be the real test of his resolve. Hull was not a very attractive job for a number of reasons and although Swansea are in a bit of a mess with poor transfer dealings of late and a poor start to the season I'm sure Coleman will view the challenge of keeping his home town club in the Premiership as one of the best jobs he could realistically get at this juncture.

If he goes, we'd probably end up with Giggs as national manager!!

He's always said he wouldn't take the Swansea job on for the reason it's his home town, but who knows. I'm convinced he will see this campaign out.

Jason Mohamed was very dismissive of this rumour this morning on his show - and we all know how pally he is with Cookie ;-)

Great ten minute interview. I totally forgot that Coleman scored on his debut v Austria back in 1992!

Does anybody on here think he is the coach of 2016 (serious question)? He is up against Ranieri and, whilst I don't think Leicester's achievements are quite the miracle that the press has made out (they took advantage of a power vacuum) it is very hard to see beyond him for the award.

You're probably right, but we don't need to be objective here do we. Better to back our own!

Don't know why some of those names are on there though. Deschamps? France were the host nation, the favourites, and they lost. And don't know why Pochettino and Klopp are there. Surely the Sevilla manager should be there if Klopp is!

The case for Klopp is that he has turned Liverpool around quite dramatically, to be fair to him. However, at the end of the day, they got to two cup finals, and lost both. One of them was against Sevilla, who've now won three Europa Leagues in a row. As you say, surely Unai Emery deserves to be on the shortlist. And what has Pochettino done, really? Finish 3rd in the PL! Madness.

Yeah ditch Deschamps for the Sevilla boss but I think Pochettino is in for what he's building. He's not a patch on Chris Coleman and his dreaming though...

Cookie's the guest on Monday Night Football tonight, I had no idea! Only just found out and so have missed him talking tactics etc. during the first hour.
As with every guest they have on, there's a chance to send in your question to Coleman/Carragher if you so wish:

He always struck me as being a geezer. This was backed up with when he was late for that press conference at Real Sociedad citing a broken washing machine... I didn't want him as Wales manager because I didn't think he was good enough but has obviously had me eating my words. This summer will live with me for life.
Cookie will leave one day and leave he will with our best wishes.
