Quite surreal seeing him in his Sunderland gear. On another note, does anyone think the Panama attendance had any bearing on his decision? No, as it was unglamorous opposition.

Can't see CC lasting until spring of next year, a club in freefall by the looks of it.

Anyone else think it's time we move on from talking about Chris Coleman? Threads on social media starting 'Ex Wales manager Chris Coleman'.....but then going on about Sunderland,,,, Welsh news in the morning starting the same. He's nothing to us now. Enjoy and remember the history he and we created, watch the video over and over, but I no longer wish to know about him or Sunderland. If I do, I'll google it.

Hes a legend, he will always be talked about, never gonna forget the guy or what hes done for Wales. And will look out for his results wherever he goes, and wish only the best for him.

Some worrying comments here from Ash on how much of a loss Coleman's going to be: "I know he’s been praised but even then I’m not sure he gets as much credit as he deserves for what he did with this side. As a player, I’ve never been involved in a team where the success was so much down to the manager." "on and off the pitch he had us relaxed but seriously focused on the roles we had, which every single one of us knew and bought into. I’ve never been in a group where so many people were all pulling in one single direction. He was a leader of men and the closeness we had was down to him and a big factor in what we achieved. We are all used to managers going but it feels a lot more personal because of those relationships and experiences.” www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ashley-williams-speaks-out-reveals-13939866I think some on here have been really guilty of undervaluing the job he did for us.

Besides, he already has two of our most promising talents in his new team, and will no doubt add 2 or 3 more in the January window. Looking forward to the Barnsley v Sunderland fixture ;-)

Interesting half time stats from the Villa Sunderland game. Sunderland possession 59% with only 2 goal attempts and none on target compared to Villa's 5 with 3 on target. Forgive my ignorance, I've never been a Sunderland fan so not sure what their average stats were before Chris took over. The attempts given 59% possession is quite bad though.. but given he has only been in the job since the weekend, I wouldn't necessarily attribute that to him. It's going to take time. But those in the PL and the Championship are not necessarily the patient types. Read somewhere that his club success rate is only 33%.. Tall order to turn this club around..

Anyone else think it's time we move on from talking about Chris Coleman? Yes I do. He did a fantastic job for us. He was in the job for 7 years and turned fortunes around during that time. He will always be (rightfully) remembered for all the right reasons. But he's moved on now and so should everyone else.

Given the mess Sunderland is in (Everton is like Disneyland in comparison 😂), he could conceivably be sacked by March and back with us by September..

First win for Coleman’s Sunderland this afternoon. Decent result away at fellow strugglers Burton.

What the hell was he thinking? The transfer window will be massive for him. What i’ve noticed from the stats of Sunderland games is that his teams really have not got many shots away, never mind shots on target. If he became available tomorrow I wouldn’t take him for the Welsh job. Water under the bridge now. Time for a change. Which is strange because I wanted him to stay

Win win for him. If he keeps them up he's a hero, if they go down they'll say they couldn't expect him to over-turn years of decline

If he keeps them up and gets a good budget in the summer you would have to think he could build a good squad. Surely a good few of the Welsh players would be happy to go there too.

He can point to other factors and everyone else will agree with him if they were to go down, if he keeps them up they'll love him and he'll have a proper chance to re-build in the summer Plus he gets a big payoff if he gets the sack

Pulis' Boro easing past Coleman's Sunderland team...perhaps an indication of how Tony could have improved on Chris' work with Wales??

Came in with Sunderland on 11 points from 17 games. He has got 11 points from 9 games and broken their horrific home record. I wouldn't say he has struggled. Continue this form and they'll be safe.

In fairness, 11 points from 17 matches is shocking form. Mr Bean would improve that. Is the FA Cup really their priority?

One dimensional and already out of ideas. I've been watching the Sunderland boards with interest as I want to see how much he evolves yet there are already complaints he is playing with wing backs and the wing backs are the most furthest forward players despite being the worst footballers in the team. Sound familiar? Now he is being linked to any Welsh player not playing regular football like he is trying to get the old band baack together. Good luck to him, but we were 100% right to move on.
Our problem now is that all the most experienced Welsh managers (Pulis, Hughes, Coleman) are all known for dour safety first football. Where is the Welsh Klopp with his heavy metal football? Nathan Jones perhaps? Whoever fits that profile gets my vote if the contender has to be Welsh (which it seems they surely must).
