"We're England and Wales"? Agh, too much We only got to the Euro Semi Final because of English players. Williams, Robson Kanu and Vokes were all born in England.

Technically they aren't relegated yet? Bolton have 40 pts, Sunderland 34 pts with 2 games to go - Almost a miracle required but they aren't down mathematically yet? Or am i wrong?

It was an odd decision on the footballing side, they were destined to go down, if he had gone there with a summer to bring in his own team he would have done well i feel. But this group gave up and didnt fight for the club, and let down Cookie. I think it was a bad career move on his part - i understand him leaving Wales for a club job (day-today, financial etc..), but this was doomed to fail. Hope he gets the opportunity to stay and rebuild Sunderland, that is the only way he can rebuild his reputation from here.

To take the Sunderland job when his stock was high was a stupid decision. If he had shown some patience in sure a better job would of come along
Let's face it the wider footballing world would put our success more down to Bale than cookie and if he's lucky another club could give him another chance

I and many others are psychic or it was always going to happen. He was never going to keep them up. He is either deluded or just wanted the money. The later for me so he will still be glad he left. 5 wins in 27 games. Worse win % than David Moyes. Yes he has a poor squad but no worse than 10 others in the league. Sunderland were by far the worst team in the Championship this season, maybe even one of the worst of the past 10 years

But I think that you will probably be right, a lot of people will now put the success down to having Bale in the team.

I don't think the casual Welsh fan knows who Osian is

With out bale factor we would not have qualified imho.

I think people are being harsh on Coleman, he did an amazing job for this country which we should be almighty grateful for.

He obviously gambled with this job.
The financial package was x4 what he was on with the FAW.
Sunderland are a poisoned club but whoever turns them around will be a hero.
He gambled and failed this season.
Time will tell if he can bring them success next year.

Sunderland offered similar but with £1m bonus for keeping them up, or something like that? The contract he was on with the FAW I understood was £250k per annum. The FAW offered £400k but he never accepted. My understanding was £1 million a year with Sunderland but I stand to be corrected

I had also heard in the region of £800k. I doubt he would have gone for it if it was only £400k

Major major mess up on Colemans part. Taking that job was career suicide. If he wanted to manage at a club he should have quit Wales, waited and gone after any number of premier league opportunities that enevitably come around each season. Where he goes from here i don't know. But in the crazy world of football management he will get another chance. Probably at somewhere like Leicester or WBA. His pride must be hurting right now though

He was going to take the rangers job before Sunderland came in at last minute and offered him more money.
Why would you go to a club in trouble with the owner trying to sell it? Answer money
He'll enjoy a pay off while blaming off the field issues for not being able to turn things around

Probably did turn down a lot of money to go to Hull just after the Euros to be fair.
Didn't know about the Rangers link.Surely would have been a better bet in the long run even if it was less money.

He’ll get another job no problem once the management merry-go-round starts up again.
