But Giggs has confirmed Ramsey will link up with his country in Dublin for Sunday's Nations League clash with Republic of Ireland, while allaying fears over Chris Mepham's availability after he sustained a knock late on in the English capital.
"Aaron's fine. He's going to meet us in Dublin," explained Giggs.
"That's all fine. He's trained this week in Turin, so everything's good there."

Christ - you could have just scrolled back a page "Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Bosnia 10th, Cyprus 13th October, played for Arsenal on the 18th Two weeks before the break he's pulled off against Tottenham at half-time with a hamstring injury, and five days before it he's completed omitted from a fairly crucial Arsenal league game against Chelsea. Friendly : Wales v Panama - Nov 14 2017, played for Arsenal 4 days afterwards. Played four days before this for us V France and then pulled out after Bale and 3 others did too. "A Football Association of Wales spokesman has said it was never the intention for Ramsey to play against Panama." China Cup : Didn't feature at all, last game being Uruguay 26th March, yet played for Arsenal on the 1st April. Underwent a 'minor procedure'. Not in the squad for either of Arsenal's Premier Leagues games for the two gameweeks before this. Euro 2020 Qualifier : Wales v Slovakia, 24 March 2019, played for Arsenal straight after the international break Possibly a bit of a case for this one. In his defence, he joined up with the squad and then went home injured. Arsenal didn't play until 8 days after the Slovakia game and he got 60 minutes. Euro 2020 Qualifier : Wales vs Azerbaijan Sept 6, Belarus friendly Sept 9, five days later is in the Juve squad Missed both of Juve's games before the break and was an unused sub after the break."

Also many of those have large gaps between the Wales game and the Arsenal/Juve games. Also many of those compromise a two week period where it's perfectly reasonable that a minor injury would have been healed by then. For me none of these have demonstrated a lack of commitment rather just unfortunate injury. Again - once we look at the specifics of the facts it's clear that commitment isn't the issue here

Does anyone think Giggs has been really intelligent about the Ramsey situation this break?
The more I think about it, it could be a master stroke.
Giggs knew we were likely to get beaten by England and morale may be low, what better to lift morale ahead of 2 vital games than Aaron Ramsey turning up just ahead of it?
Maybe I’m overthinking, but whatever has happened this is going to be a massive morale boost for the squad.

Does this answer your question, hal ?> This is what I saw to make me raise the thought. We’ve got an Ireland team coming into the game massively down and a lack of morale. And we’ve got a Welsh team coming in recently boosted by the return of one of their star players. What a boost!

Maybe I’m overthinking, but whatever has happened this is going to be a massive morale boost for the squad. I don't think Giggs does play many of our top attacking players and midfielders for friendlies regardless. Spain, Trinidad and England have not featured Bale or Ramsey, even when fit. I think Brooks only played a bit-part role against Spain if I remember correctly. Not that I'm complaining. Giggs might view them as opportunities for his younger players to experience playing against the best, and little more than that. He needs the likes of Ramsey, Moore, Brooks, James and Bale fit as much as possible for our competitive fixtures.

Interesting article about Oliver Norwood here on why he won't be coming back from international retirement "The 29-year-old admits his body had told him it was the right time to focus on his club career. 'I always found that the first two or three games after an international break I was struggling,' he said. Blades vice-captain Norwood felt that after playing international football from the age of 16, his body 'was screaming out for a break'." He also cites that he always considered his club career to be more important than his international one - which obviously isn't a good thing. However, it does show the need to manage our best players game time when they come away and play for us www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54491449

I see he just posted on Instgram that it's his twins' 2nd birthday today. They're in Italy whilst he's with Wales.
Maybe some people here don't have kids and I certainly used to have quite a passive attitude with this stuff, but it would kill me if I missed my kid's birthday (who just turned two as well).
I don't books tours for my band over my kid's birthday. Damn, most people book the day off work.
Aaron Ramsey has turned up for international duty.
That's commitment.

His Cymraeg is impressive, certainly better than Hartson's (not that I have a problem with Hartson's Cymraeg: gwell shit Cymraeg na dim Cymraeg).
Such a shame that for so many years Ramsey lacked the confidence to do interviews in Cymraeg. Mind you, we probably lacked the likes of Ian Gwyn Hughes in the past to give him the confidence, and conduct the sort of low key interviews that are happening now, rather than the much more intense pre- and post-match interviews that were probably expected of him in the past.
