Yep, which just goes to show how ridiculous the suggestions he was being rested against Barca were. I'm not too concerned, he'll get plenty of other opportunities and I'm confident in his ability. But can we stop kidding ourselves when he gets dropped from now on? Of course our poor Aaron needs a rest. Do you know how difficult it is to have twins - and they are now just turning 2 yrs.

I don't think he's been dropped. It's, sadly, just fitness again.
Pirlo said: “Aaron Ramsey isn't at his best yet after Dynamo Kiev either, so some need rest and we can't afford it right now."
Sounds like he's pretty disappointed he can't start him to me.

Sounds to me like he's ripening up nicely for a pull out from international duty. Don't mean that in a negative, but I think we need to base our future ideas and plans around other players now.

But can we stop kidding ourselves when he gets dropped from now on? Pirlo's publicly said he didn't play because he wasn't fully fit, so the suggestions were hardly ridiculous.

I just felt he wouldn't have included him on the bench against barca if there was no chance of him playing because of fitness issues. They were a goal down and brought 3 midfielders /wingers on ahead of Rambo when chasing the game. If he is considered a first team player, I'm just not sure why he wouldn't have come on when Juve were chasing and he was clearly considered fit enough to be involved, or he wouldn't have been on the bench. I think Pirlo does rate him, but not highly enough yet for him to be considered a guaranteed starter

He's on the field now, an hour in. Yes. But Pirlo playing him wide on the right. Does that clown understand nothing about football?

Continues to look class, but he's just gone off with an injury :-( hopefully not too serious.

Just got subbed off after going down with an injury. Didn't look too serious - he walked off and didn't limp or look to be in any pain. Could easily be precautionary but not what you want to see the day before the squad is picked

What a surprise.......
I think there's a very strong possibility that Ramsey will retire following the Euro's next year. Commitment argument aside, he can't kick the ball around for more than a few mins before pulling something.
What would be interesting if he manages to miraculously stay injured in the lead up to the Euro's and throughout the tournament itself.

Who knows, maybe Juve are just brewing up a little injury for him in time for the international break? (Im only joking, calm down) Psychic Dai strikes again.

I mean this one wasn’t a surprise after he had to be taken off last night. Such a shame but there we are, at least we know up front this time. There’s a slight chance that he recovers quickly and we can call him back in time for Finland which is still a couple of weeks away. I won’t hold my breath but you never know

Yeah unfortunately for both us and Juventus, injuries are getting the better of him this year. We can't rely and depend on him being fit for sure, given how many games he's missed with injury in the last year, and how many he might miss in the next year.
People are quick to jump at him for it, I don't really see what he can do though personally and I don't really understand all the hatred and abuse that athletes get online for having histories of injuries.
The commitment argument may come again, but you can't say he's more committed to his club than his country, as he's missed plenty of football in the last month for Juventus due to injury, and they've tried to manage it as well.

I agree, it would be fantastic if he managed to stay injury free for the run up the the Euros and throughout the tournament. We’ve got enough good players to get through these next few games without him so just keep fingers and everything else crossed for June.

From what I saw in Dublin, didn't exactly exert himself there for us. Maybe these regular 'injuries' are a sign he's on the way out, and will soon retire completely from International football to use his last couple of years in club football only. To give him the benefit, he's had a couple of very nasty injuries through his career to date, and his main legacy to us is/was a fantastic Euro2016 and the two goals that qualified us for Euro2020. Wouldn't be surprised if next summer is his Cymru swansong. If not 100% fit and firing he's been a bit of a liability at times over the years for us.

Euro 2016 was his peak, where in my view he was our best player & one of the tournament’s most influential performers. I will go to my grave convinced that if he & Ben would have played in the semi then things would have worked out differently.

Some of these comments are ridiculous, but predictably OTT. He's 29 and he's an extremely passionate Welshman. He won't retire after the Euros, I would be prepared to put a lot of money on that.

It's not that convenient though is it? According to the article it'll be re-evaluated in ten days, so that's probably when he's likely to potentially return to training, and it says he'll miss their two league games with Lazio and Cagliari (either side of the international break) which are really important with them needing to catch up ground on Milan. The conspiracy theories of him sitting out Wales games to play for Juventus are bonkers, considering he's also sitting out Juventus games. He hasn't faked an injury so that he can miss games for Juventus, so that he can miss games for Wales, so that he's fresh to play for Juventus.

I can understand people's frustration at him missing a lot of games for us over the past two years, but I'm sure Rambo is as frustrated as we are. Not once has he dropped out before joining up with us and immediately started for Juve as soon as our games have finished. He misses Juve games too so the conspiracy theories are way off
I think people naturally look at something to blame when they are frustrated, but we shouldn't aim it at Rambo baselessly

At this point we have to prepare for life without Ryan. Let's hope Smith, Levitt and co. bulk up and provide more of a presence in midfield.

Smith appears to be doing well in what is a physical league in fairness to him, I think he will become a top Championship midfielder at least and a staple in our midfield along with Ampadu, who I feel could become world class. Yet to be convinced by Levitt as of yet but he's got lots of years ahead of him. At that age, many thought Harry Kane wouldn't amount to anything either.

Thankfully they don't have all their faith placed in a single player. Rakitic, Brozovic etc. do well in his absence. Imagine trying to draw any sort of comparison between Modric and Championship lightweights ffs.
