I honestly think this is a decent deal for Wales, we just needed him playing and staying sharp and match fit without having to put his body through things that could jeopardise him playing for us. Fingers crossed he doesn't get battered and clattered too much and is always available when we're playing. I worry it might have an affect. He'll get things a lot easier in the SPL than against Austria. I mean Connah's Quay beat a SPL team in a European competition. Freak result but it did happen. Playing in the SPL and in Europe is better than not playing at Juve or playing in a Burnley or Newcastle side that would require him to do the things he's not good at. I think he and we will do well out of this.

You'd like think Ian Gwyn Hughes and Osian Roberts would have been on the phone to him once the rumours broke to tell him to reconsider this. You can forgive Team GB because at the time we were miles away from qualifying for a major tournament, and experienced players like Bellamy and Giggs were hopping on the bandwagon, but I expect this move will harm his reputation with the more Indy leaning Welsh crowd, which is more or less all the die-hards. Really disappointed in Rambo. Yes you'd have thought he'd been advised. Either way between playing for GB and now this it isn't a good look for him with the indy crowd - of whom I know a lot of people loved Rambo. Especially given that he's a Welsh speaker It almost makes you think that maybe he does have an opinion on these political issues and that he is a unionist He is a Brit and a Tory no doubt about it

Isnt it obvious why he would choose Rangers over a Burnley or Newcastle? Silverware. If you put the whole Brit thing aside, from a club level , it makes complete sense. Why bother hammer yourself in a relegation battle when you could be lifting trophies and winning medals. A lot of Scotlands national squad play in the SPL, and they are a better team than us. Crazy os troiodd e Sevilla neu Dortmund lawr. I might be wrong, I think he'll be only the 2nd Welshman to play for Rangers, Andy Dibble being the other?

It’s being reported that Juventus are paying his wages in full! They’ve given him away for free! Option to buy set at 5-6 million. Why would you just give away a player you will continue to pay a lot of money for? Madness They wanted to shift some of his wages. So, that's bollocks, surely. Well, there’s a suggestion that Ramsey remaining at Juventus at the end of this season would trigger an extension to his contract. Apparently the loan deal circumvents that clause. IF they really are paying 100% of his wages then it would suddenly all make a great deal of sense. I can’t believe they would pay his entire wage just to risk him getting injured playing for someone else.

First he plays for England in the olympics and then he plays for the wannabe English in Scotland. My respect for him has just hit zero. Anyone but those Britnat wankers.

Fair point, but by the same token the quality of the Scottish side’s football is hardly renowned though. He’s got Celtic and Borussia Dortmund to play but he’s also got games against Dundee and St Johnstone coming up, doesn’t exactly get the pulse racing or conjure up images of crisp passing football on billiard table-like surfaces…

Fitness would be better at Rangers, but some of the names he was training with at Juve... Obviously they didn't want him though but being better than SPL midfielders or struggling against Premier League midfielders. I think he'd be a lot sharper in a struggling Burnley side personally. But the only opinion that means anything is Ramseys.

I can't believe some of this drivel, he also played for Arsenal who are bitter rivals of Spurs, does that make him anti semitic as well!! No but this time he plays for a team of far right britnat unionists

I am finding some of the posts and reaction from Welsh fans to this quite cringe inducing, bringing up the politics of Rangers. Osian Roberts and Ian Gwyn Hughes calling him up? Come off it!
They are a football club, he needs to play football. I don't like Rangers fans at all, I find them and Celtic fans as a whole incredibly bigoted but I will never judge a Welsh player for going there. I don't think he should be judged by us nor do I think he should have taken the politics of their fans into consideration. It has no baring on his politics whatsoever, he is football player, he's joined them as a footballer. It's not the 70s anymore. Rangers have had, and still have, many catholics on their books.
I actually find him playing for team GB far more damaging and insulting, something that often gets overlooked by our fanbase.

As someone who is married to a Scot and has spent a considerable amount of time there, living and visiting, I suggest some of you do some on the ground research and stop believing all you read in press. Should the people of Glasgow similarly jump to conclusions about Swansea fans who also fly union jack flags?

Didn't Paul Gascoigne score that brilliant goal against Scotland while playing for Rangers That must have been a very confusing moment for them.

That's just ignorance on your part ,repeating a trope with no actual knowledge of the subject, Scottish League may not be the best in Europe ,but it produces fine football players and a team drawn from it would be of a good standard.Pity so many on this site who follow English league teams just but into their biased attitudes.

Other Welsh players turned them down, he bent over for the English knowing full well the FAW and fans were against it and how it could affect our standing as an independent national team. He is a judas in my eyes.

Just hope he doesn't get kicked around too much, a potential final against Scotland might make him a bit of a target. Hopefully works out as a decent move, just needs a bit of football in his legs to get him ready and hopefully the level isn't so intense that he gets himself injured.

If we can't learn be tolerant and accepting of other people's political views (so long as they aren't extreme), then quite frankly we don't deserve to be independent. As proven by our excellent support out in the Euros in 2016 and the team spirit throughout the camp that got us to a semi final, we work best as a nation when we are united. If people are going to turn their backs on Rambo because of the football team he has decided to sign for, then we have little hope for the future.

It's only an issue if you make it out to be an issue. Whatever you may believe, the club don't identify with extreme views and neither does its players. People on here would be creaming their pants if he was turning out for Lazio, Real Madrid or Chelsea, so let's not pretend we're all upset because he's joined a club with a predominantly right wing fanbase. The fact of the matter is, all of these are just football clubs to these players. The players rarely give a shit about the politics of the clubs' fans before joining.

Some of you are over thinking it. Maybe after being on the bench and years of injuries he just wants 6 months of being the best player for his team, destroying opponents, scoring, being loved by 50,000 fans, being match fit and having the potential to win a shit load of things. He could make his debut tomorrow in arguably (My opinion the biggest) the biggest game In world football then he can start looking forward to starting a Competitive European game against a team That has possibly the best fans and best player in Europe. All of that sounds better than Burnley or a relegation scrap with Newcastle heck it even sounds better than Sevilla. Maybe he’s done this for the love of football.
